Smackdown and Velocity spoilers

Recommended Posts

Just found this quick summary, hopefully we get more complete spoilers soon.

"-Angle d. Jannetty in a really fun match, not a squash at all. Angle wins clean with the Ankle Lock after Jannetty had escaped it a bunch of times. Huge chants for Marty and he was over big with the crowd.

-Booker T faced Luther Reigns. Don't remember who won, but afterwards Heidenreich did a promo saying that Booker had inspired him to be more ethnic, and did an Akeem-esque promo.

-London d. Kidman with the 450.

-Big Show interview about Akebono.

-Contract signing time. Bischoff is with Orton. Orton says he isn't afraid of Taker, but Taker starts up the spooky pyro, Orton gets scared, and runs off.

Cena/Eddie/Rey d. JBL/Bashams. The angle during the show was that Cena would lose his title shot at Mania if he touched JBL any time other than in the match. After the match, Cena laid out both Bashams with chair shots."

Hopefully we get more info soon.

I really think they're planning to keep Marty around. If he was leaving Angle would have squashed him.

And thumbs up for the Heidenreich thing. When you have such a terrible wrestler on a show, it takes some real extreme Wrestlecrap to make him interesting.

Sweet, I'am a fan of Taker's Supernatural antics so this should be alot of fun to watch.

And the matches sounds pretty damn good espeically Angle/Jannetty. This is gonna be a pretty good SD! IMO>

It's official, Heidenreich is walking wrestlecrap. It's like he's the personification of every horrible idea the creative team can think of. I almost feel sorry for him....

(Thinks of Heidenreich's salary and fan admiration)

Ah, fuck him!

If Marty stays around he really needs to update his attire. It was a good touch for one night, and it would have been cool to see HBK in the old rockers garb, but tassles are a thing of the past.

No one seems to complain about Paul London wearing tassels.

So, where are the Velocity spoilers?

And Marty is on SD too? Geez, he wasn't that good on Raw.

Yes he was. I think you're the only one on the entire internet not impressed, Mole.

And Marty needs to keep his full outfit as long as he's around. Anything that separates him from other wrestlers, even the tassles, is a good thing. I'm tired of everyone looking the same.

I wonder if Marty busted out his top rope power bomb from 1995. I guess not, heh.

Well, Kurt Angle did challenge Jannetty last week so it wouldn't have made any sence for Marty not to be at SD! this week right?

Heidenreich as Akeem 2005? Well, the WWE may have found a way to make me like the guy. In a train wreck sort of way.

Contract signing time. Bischoff is with Orton. Orton says he isn't afraid of Taker, but Taker starts up the spooky pyro, Orton gets scared, and runs off.

I take it back, fuck the WWE.

I don't even LIKE Orton, but this "everyone is scared of the Undertaker" shit got old YEARS ago.

I know we've debated the merits of Orton winning / not winning against Taker at Mania, but even for those who don't want to see him come out with the victory at WM21, you have to admit that booking him like a pussy against Taker (which is how EVERYONE is booked against Taker) is just a stupid fucking idea. I mean, shit, even if he lost in a glorified squash (which is what I think it'll be) at the PPV, him actually stepping UP to Taker, showing courage to all of his low-rent voodoo, would do more to get him over.

Yeah, the Taker thing has just gotten silly. Why would guys be afraid of a guy well into his 40s?

thats funny, so there is absolutely nothing scary about any guy in their 40's?

I wasn't impressed, either. Granted, I was only half paying attention to the match, but I did see a couple crappy-looking dropkicks by Marty, and the blown kip-up. I'd have no problems if we never saw Marty again after SD.

As for SD, London/Kidman, Angle/Marty, and the ME could all be fun. Should be a decent show.

When the guy in question is 6'10", about 285lbs, and tattoo'd all over... wouldn't you be a little intimidated?

Orton is the one that challenged Taker to the match at Wrestlemania... its just plain STUPID to have him scared of him all a sudden..

Jannetty/Angle seems like it'll be fun..

London/Kidman should be good as well..

The Main Event will be fun for sure too...

Doesnt look like a half bad Smackdown this week... but considering London is on Smackdown what we getting on Velocity:-/

Regarding MJ's dropkicks:

He's always done them like that... FOREVER. He makes contact with one foot and lands on his chest. If anything, I'm laughing at HBK completely botching a kip up, when he does it in every match.

Exactly. Let's see *you guys* sign up at the Wrestling Classics board and beg for crack in public posts. Until you do, you're not Marty cool.

More on Smackdown

. Show opened with Kurt Angle in the ring cutting a promo on Shawn Michaels and telling Marty Jannetty that his tag match with Michaels on Monday was not going to help him prepare for a match with an Olympic Gold Medalist. Marty looks great. This was the longest match of the night. Angle obviously works a less physical match than I've seen him put on in the past, but he still puts it together as well as anyone in the business. Very good match that did not steal any heat from Marty if they plan to use him in the future. Ending saw Marty tapping out after escaping the ankle lock twice.

JBL and Theodore Long in the back. Long tells JBL that if Cena touches him before WrestleMania, he would lose his title shot. However, he was suspending the stipulation for one night in a tag match where Cena could have JBL from "bell to bell."

Luther Reigns and Booker T are next. Heidenreich is at the announce table. He exchanges some words with Booker T before the match, but doesn't interfere as The Book cleanly finishes Reigns with the Ax kick. Afterwards, Heidenreich cut one of those poetry promos that make absolutely no sense.

Between the matches, Torrie, Jackie, and Dawn Marie were in the audience taking pictures and posing with the crowd.

We're back and it's time to sign the contracts. Out comes Long followed by a surprise visit from Bischoff who takes the mic to introduce Raw's Randy Orton. Crowd quickly to their feet and popping. Long introduces Smackdown's phenom, the Undertaker. Crowd is going nuts now. Taker signs the contract. Orton picks up the pen then cuts a promo telling Taker that the difference between him and the other 12 guys Taker beat at WrestleMania is that he's not scared of him. He signs the contract and slaps Taker. Long and Bischoff clear the ring quickly. Orton gets out the ring and slowly makes his way up the ramp looking back at Taker. The Taker raises his arms and boom explosions for Orton. Let's face it, the Taker gimmick works. Biggest pop of the night and the guy never says a word.

Billy Kidman and Paul London are next. Paul London gets the pin with a 450 splash.

Big Show comes out to cut a prom on Akemono for their Sumo match at WrestleMania.

Backstage, JBL and Jordan are still looking for Cena. JBL has come up with a plan to make Cena mad so that he'll hit him and lose his title shot at Mania.

Chavo cuts a great promo on Eddie backstage. Chavo tells Eddie that last year he was World Champ, now he's tag champs with Rey. He tells him that with all the times Rey has beat him, if you can't beat em', join em'. He tells Eddie that Rey's holding him back. Chavo tells Eddie to do the family a favor and quit calling himself a Guerrero.

During one of the photo ops, Dawn Marie gets fed up with the Smackdown Diva winner stealing her shots and a cat fight breaks out. Refs quickly break it up. Not sure if this one is on TV.

JBL finds Cena in the back and tries to make him hit him. Cena restrains himself then tells JBL, thanks for the pep talk, he'll see him in the ring.

Tag match features JBL and Bashams vs. Eddie, Rey, and Cena. If you've never seen them live, the only thing you can try to do in a match like this is keep your eyes on Eddie and Rey. They're quick and if you blink, you miss something. Cena gets his hands on JBL a couple of times, but nothing spectacular. Ending saw Eddie take down one of the Bashams and head to the top for the Frog Splash. Rey comes over the top rope for the Plancha and the pin as Eddie looks on disappointed. The faces leave the ring and we're out. After Smackdown goes off the air, Long comes out and tells JBL that he will have to face Cena one more time. He reassures Cena that he has his back... Holla holla holla. Cena comes out and is quickly jumped by Jordan and the rest of the Cabinet. Out comes big show who takes down the entire Cabinett leaving JBL easy pickings for Cena. And we're out.

Where did Billy Kidman go? Seems as if he disappeared from WWE TV a few weeks before the Royal Rumble.

Kidman apparently got the "we give up on him" thing from the writers again. After about a month of treating his Shooting Star Press, as though it was death itself, he just up and disappeared.

It's Kidman. 10 to 1 he's probably injured again.

They did the "lose title shot" deal with Austin/H a few years ago. The "opponent gets pin to disappointment of partner" thing happened with AJ and Jerry Lynn. Still, both are OK with me. Looks the best SD in forever, IF London/Kidman gets time.
