Guest Trivia247 Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 There you go Vince Sr. Now rolling in his grave. he originally didn't want his Wrestler Hogan to Do the Rocky Movie, because he is a Wrestler not some actor. But Vince Jr liked it and used it after he got Hogan back from AWA.
BorneAgain Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 There you go Vince Sr. Now rolling in his grave. I suspect he's rolling over in his grave for far bigger reasons than that.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Thank God... I was afraid they were going to let current Hogan lap dog Brian Knobbs to do it. I counted Jimmy Hart out, since he's been inducted as well, and he wouldn't be doing double duty.
Team Angle Pusher Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Wow, double duty, that would seriously be bad for his health.... Stallone, big name, big dude, nice guy, more ratings, bigger buyrates....smart move.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Why would an inductee have to induct someone else? That completely eliminates the point of the thing. Why not just induct themselves while they are at it...
pochorenella Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Cool news, IMO. Nobody short of Austin or The Rock on the current roster could do the induction justice, so getting Stallone is a smart move that should get some mainstream coverage.
justcoz Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 All the more reason why Mr. T should have been inducted into the Celebrity Wing this year.
Guest dreamer420 Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 I was hoping and praying it would be Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. Not Ed Leslie, but Brutus
AlaskanHero Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 By this point, Vince Sr. is probably spinning faster than an F-5 tornado. Anyways, I guess this is a good idea as it could get some mainstream interest and maybe a few more buys from the casual fans.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 I'm waiting for someone to say Stallone should turn on Hogan at Wrestlemania because Hogan didn't put him over in Rocky III.
Twisted Intestine Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Stallone should turn on Hogan at Wrestlemania because Hogan didn't put him over in Rocky III.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 "Sell for me, God dammit!" "No way, Meatball!"
AndrewTS Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 I never saw Rocky III. But the name "Thunderlips" sounds really, really stupid. "Stallone...big dude" Well, not height-wise.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Thunderlips was a pimp... or something. He had a hat with a giant feather, and his robe had giant lips. And he had three hookers with him.
Sass Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 It's too bad Freddie Blassie isn't alive because I think him doing the HOF induction for Hulk would have been a nice touch since he was his manager when he showed up in the WWF in '80. Him, Savage or Flair since the latter two were so connected to Hulk throughout the 90's. Stallone can be the token celebrity that the last few Mania's haven't had. He's not a bad choice, all things considered.
Guest Bobby K. Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I always thought that Heenan would be perfect to Induct Hogan. The man who, arguably, put Hogan over as the ultimate good guy through his constant insults and emotionally driven commentary would have been perfect in this role-especially since they are friends. I thought this would have been perfect. The Stallone thing adds big name maintream pub. so I see why they did it, but I was holding out for Heenan.
SuperJerk Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 So instead of The Rock at Wrestlemania, we get Rocky?
Guest thebigjig Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 question: Did WWE cut a new contract with Marvel in regards to the name "hulk" ? A few months ago all references to "Hulk" Hogan on the WWE website were replaced with "Hollywood" Hogan because of the Marvel deal ending. Now everywhere I look Hogan is referred to as "Hulk" what gives?
Guest Shadow Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I'm shocked they haven't gotten Govenator Arnold to get involved as a guest referee as well for some match.
ChrisMWaters Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I'm just wondering if anyone will be able to understand what the hell Stalone is going to be saying during this Hall of Fame induction.
jester Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I'm waiting for someone to say Stallone should turn on Hogan at Wrestlemania because Hogan didn't put him over in Rocky III. I bet Hogan is already proposing that he go over Stallone at the induction.
Promoter Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 There you go Vince Sr. Now rolling in his grave. I suspect he's rolling over in his grave for far bigger reasons than that. Okay, we gotta have Clubber Lang and Apollo
JoeDirt Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 World Wrestling Entertainment released more information about their 4/2 Hall of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles, California on their WWE.com Hall of Fame subsite. WWE announced the following information about who would be inducting each new member of the Hall of Fame: *Sylvester Stallone will induct Rocky III co-star Hulk Hogan *Steve Austin will induct Roddy Piper *Jim Ross will induct Nikolai Volkoff *Jerry Lawler will induct Jimmy Hart, who he broke into the wrestling business *Randy Orton will induct his father, Bob Orton *Bobby Heenan will induct former protege Paul Orndorff *Sgt. Slaughter will induct former foe The Iron Sheik. Tickets for the Hall of Fame Ceremony, to be held at the Universal Amphitheater are still available at Ticketmaster.com. A one hour special will air on Spike TV during the ceremony, centered around the induction of Hogan. --PWInsider.com
Guest Shadow Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 sounds like Volkoff had no family or friends willing to inductee him so they grabbed ross because i cant think of a connection. more heenan! yes!
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 I'm waiting for someone to say Randy will RKO his father, because the Induction Ceremony is only being used for angle advancements like last year (sarcasm) even though no one will be seeing it except for the Hogan portion.
tbondrage99 Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 I cant wait to see The Ultimate Male & The Ultmiate Meatball face to face again.
