Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 Probably been asked before. But, what debuts did you enjoy the most? Chris Jericho, The Radicals, Scott Hall, are great. However, I'd say Undertaker at S.S. '90.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 Even though he isn't that great, and I'm not that big a fan of his...Goldberg's debut. SO much mystery around him, no one knows who he is or where he came from...then BAM. Crushes Hugh Morrus.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 Technically, Hall showing up on Nitro was a return. Chris Jericho's debut in the WWF was tremendous. I liked Goldberg's debut in WWE as well.

Some Guy 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 RVD and Tommy Dreamer, just for being part of one of the best Raw moments ever. Mike Awesome powerbombing Rhyno on a ladder and winning the HC title at MSG was cool. They did most of the debuts of the WCW/ECW guys well, it was just the rest of it that sucked. I too, marked hard for Tazz in his debut and thought the match was fun. Flair's comeback to WWF was great as was his intial debut in 91.
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 Tie between Dreamer/RVD and Undertaker. Close second(well, I guess third) for Jericho.

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 23, 2005 Goldbergs streak as debut? He was already wrestling as a heel before "the streak" began (beating up Steve McMichael a lot), which seemed to be erased from history. I'll have to go with the popular opinions of Chris Jericho and the Undertaker. For worst, Giant Gonzalez, mainly for the fact he looked fucking retarded. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 I gotta disagree with the nWo debut in WWE...it seemed like a desperate ploy to get buyrates for the PPV they showed up on...Vince just suddenly announcing "I'm bringing in Hogan, Hall, and Nash...the N-W-O!" and just playing a looped clip of them on the video screen seemed like a waste. I think it would've been more effective if they had just shown up out of the blue and beat the crap out of someone like Austin. That would've been a lot more like the real nWo, IMO. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 Didn't Hogan defeat Sheik in his first match back in the WWF? It was really early in his return if wasn't the first match back It wasn't his first showing back. On the Hulk Still Rules DVD, they show the match he actually returned in...which was Bob Backlund vs. Samoan #3. Was planned to be a tag match, but Captain Lou protested since Backlund wanted a mystery partner. Turned into a one on one match...Captain Lou, Afa, and Sika tried to get involved. Backlund goes to the back, then comes back out with Hogan to guard the ring. Match ends with a DQ in favor of Backlund, and he and Hogan clear the ring. Also includes the dumbest looking fall out of the ring by Captain Lou.

Maybe...maybe not. Remember, at the start of the group's life, the whole deal about the nWo was that it was lead by former WWF guys that wanted to invade...showing that, in a way, WWF was better than WCW. Storyline wise, they wouldn't have as much a beef with WWF as they did with WCW. That's just my opinion though.
Some Guy 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2005 Goldbergs streak as debut? He was already wrestling as a heel before "the streak" began (beating up Steve McMichael a lot), which seemed to be erased from history. Goldberg's first feud was with Mongo as a heel (first he hung out with him a then turned on him, I think) but his first match he Jackhammered Bill DeMott and looked at the camera and said "That's one!" I don't know if it was Goldberg doing it on his own or hif they actually planned the winning streak from the beginning but given the way it played out and Goldberg saying that after his first win, I'd say that the day he debuted the streak started and was even acknowledged by Bill. He didnt hang with Steve, )they only started feuding cuz of Debra, who paid of Goldberg by giving him Steves superbowl ring. They didn't mention much of his streak untill the new year, but it was obvious that he was something special from the beginning, as he was destorying bigger guys like morrus and Barbarian in addition to jobbers. Did he say that one? in hindsight what a brilliant move! However I do know that after the match mean gene tried to interview him and he just stared and walked away. I have the match on tape from the best of nitro special that aired in December 1999. Tenay made a big deal out of not knowing anything about bill except that he played football. Guest krazykat72 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 Goldberg's RAW debut was handled really, really well. It was in the next few weeks before the Rock match that they screwed it up. (The wig, etc). Scott Steiner's "re-debut" at Survivor Series '02 was done very well too. -Paul Jacobi-
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 24, 2005 No mention for Brock Lesnar? Just showing up and killing everyone. THAT's a debut. Not a stupid video or anything but just showing up unannounced and killing people dead.

Yeah....what he said. Close second for me would have to be Cactus Jack's WWE debut... Mankind and Dude Love in the same room announcing Cactus Jacks debut. Granted it was only a gimmick change, it was still pretty cool…I specifically remember marking out for that one.

Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 24, 2005 I found Brock's debut was ruined by the fact that he didn't pin someone for the Hardcore title. How? I LOVED that part. It showed that Paul Heyman wasn't going to bother with the lowly hardcore belt because the NEXT BIG THING doesn't need that belt. It showed Brock Lesnar can and is willing to murder just for the thrill of it and the profit of obtaining a championship belt.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted March 25, 2005 So he wins the title then comes on next week and throws it in the trash as Heyman proclaims the title's below Lesnar. That way Brock looks good and you're rid of the damned Hardcore title.
