JMFabiano524 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2005 With the Schiavo news today, and Johnnie Cochran dying days ago, the people who believe in the "threes" law of death must be having a field day.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2005 Hedberg es numero tres. The pontif would be 4. D'oh. No, Mitch would be the second. Terri isn't a celebrity, she's not even close. Johnnie, something to be remembered for Mitch, has something he'll be remembered for The Pope, obviously Terri, will be forgotten by next year
JMFabiano524 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Whoops, forgive me for not mastering all the intricacies of the death in threes rule. Still I'd at least consider Schiavo a public figure at best. Guess it depends on what your definition(s) of "celebrity" is/are.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 As a Catholic, it's sad to see the Pope on the brink of death. He did a lot to further the faith, even if I believe he has lost control over the last few years.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 "I've been friends with the Pope for many years. And once, when we were both watching a football game on the television, he turned to me and said, Michael, should I ever get gravely ill with an high fever brought on by a urinary tract infection, I want you to pull the plug on me. We should all respect his wishes." "Hey, good enough for me!"

Dimensions 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 A famous psychic - the name escapes me- said that after Pope John Paul II dies he will be replaced by a pope who dies quickly (perhaps comparitivly with II's length) and the pope following that will be in for the End times. St. Malachy Perhaps the most famous prophecies about Popes allegedly come from St. Malachy O’Morgair, Archbishop of Armagh, Ireland. While in Rome to visit Pope Innocent II in 1139, Malachy had a vision in which he gave specific clues about the identities of every Pope to follow Innocent II to the end of time! These prophecies were hidden away until they were finally published in 1590. There is still an ongoing debate as to whether they are genuine prophecies from St. Malachy or are forgeries. Either way, they seem to have an eerie accuracy. For example, these were his names for the three most recent Popes we’ve had: * Paul VI (1963-1978) he called Flos florum, which means “flower of flowers.” Paul VI’s coat of arms bore the image of three lilies. * John Paul I (1978) was called De medietate Lunae, meaning “of the half of the moon.” John Paul reigned for about a month – from half a moon to the next half. * John Paul II (1978-) he named as De labore Solis, or “from the labor of the sun.” John Paul II was born during a solar eclipse. There are only two Popes named by St. Malachy after John Paul II. The first he names Gloria olivae. The second will be named Peter, and he may be the last Pope. Malachy’s prophecy about Peter says, “In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people.” The end of the world? Watch 2007 be the year the Cubs are about ready to win the World Series. Then on a routine pop up, a big wave strikes and kills us all. That would JUST be my luck. HA! Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Could they please get a YOUNG POPE after this guy? Before him, they had a line of very old men who were all at the brink of death waiting to be Pope. The result was that it seemed like the Pope dying was a regular news event. This guy was something like 50 when they sat him on the chair, and it did them a lot better to have a Pope who could actually speak instead of just simply nod his head.
