Celtics have it down to 4 late in the third after being down 21 at the end of the first.

Pacers trail in Washington by 6 with the 4th quarter about to start.

Pacers pull another one out in the end, winning in Washington 79-76. I guess if we're not going to settle for the lottery, we may as well try to move up some more. Now in 6th, 1/2 game ahead of Cleveland, and 3 behind Chicago who have won 9 in a row.

Yeah, fuck Dallas. Of course they have to get blown out by Cleveland when we finally pull ahead of them. At least we have tiebreak.

Next up is Reggie's finale in MSG.

I would laugh my ass off if Cleveland managed to somehow miss the playoffs.

How the hell did the Sonics lose to the Warriors, Rant.

Lewis is out and so is Radmonivic.

When your #2 and your #6 are both out, it's hard to make up for it.

That and Baron Davis is a God of a basketball player. Seriously. That guy can take any team to the playoffs. He just can't stay healthy. Its amazing. With the trading the did during this season (picking up Carbarkapa, Tstilisvilli, Davis) they made themselves a deep team.

Alf, wouldn't you rather see Indiana finish 8th seed and take on Miami in the first round? The Pacers would be perfect to spoil Miami's near perfect season. The Heat have not been able to beat the Pacers yet this season, so Indiana has a good chance of pulling off an 8th seed upset.

There could be some very interesting matchups out East for real. I mean if Jersey gets in 7th......lookout. If the Pacers get 8th...could be trouble. If the Nuggets get the Spurs....trouble...

They very well could--they just cannot get their shit together, can they? We could see 6 through 8 being Indiana-Philadelphia-New Jersey, but good God let's hope not because that's THREE Atlantic teams. Gross.

Spiff: The game is on League Pass, other than that it's only shown locally.

As far as playing the Heat in the playoffs go, we had trouble with them in last year's playoffs too after sweeping them in the regular season. And that was with home court and the full roster, this year we'll be without Artest and possibly Tinsley, as well.

Also, Reggie won Player of the Week for the Eastern conference. Awesome.

I still don't think Reggie retires this year. I think he plays one more to have the full lineup available and an actual chance to win the title.

Although I'd like to see him hang around for another year, he really seems content on retiring this season regardless what happens.

Spurs just signed Glenn Robinson. They have just doomed themselves.

They're showing Reggie's last MSG game on Sportsnet up here. I'd watch it but the Nets are playing.

I'd laugh so hard if he tears or breaks his leg or something. That'd be a great MSG finale.

Pacers win 97-79, Reggie gets a standing ovation from the MSG crowd, with even a brief Reggie chant breaking out with about a minute left. He gave Spike Lee a ug before leaving.

As for the game, Stephen Jackson had a big night, and Anthony Johnson has just been the man with Tinsley out due to injury.

Pacers also move into 6th by a full game ahead of Cleveland, who lost to the Nets by *31 points*. I don't know for the life of me why Jeff McInnis was benched.

That made me sad.

At least the Nets KILLED the Cavs tonight.

Oh, and I just noticed this, the Bulls have the THIRD BEST RECORD IN THE EAST.

The Bulls are like the Miami Heat of last year. Started off terrible, but eventually got it together to make the playoffs. Look for a first-round win, then the acquisition of a dominant center over the offseason. :P

As of right now, this is the seeding in the East.

1. Miami (56-19, clinched homecourt through the East finals)

2. Detroit (46-27, Central leader, clinched birth)

3. Boston (40-34, Atlantic leader)

4. Chicago (41-32)

5. Washington (41-32)

6. Indiana (39-34)

7. Cleveland (38-35)

8. Philadelphia (36-37)

9. New Jersey (36-39)

10. Orlando (35-39)

Orlando trails Dallas by 11 with the 4th quarter having just started.
