Slingshot Suplex Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 An NHL season with real players. Motion seconded.
2GOLD Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Cubs make the World Series. Screw the winning, just make it for once. Unless it's the Red Sox or Yankees, then win the whole f'n thing.
Guest thetrendsetter Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Halifax granted a CFL Franchise... OHHH you mean real sports... Atlanta Braves win a 2nd world series of thier dynasty (I don't care what anyone says, a Baseball Team making the playoffs 14 consecutive years deserves a pat on the back) or Bonds comes back in mid-may and still hits 40 home runs...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 The Chicago Bears go undefeated through the regular season, and record the ten year anniversary of The Superbowl Shuffle in week 14.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 En route to a 46-10 victory over the Patriots in the superbowl, in a game that won't even be as close as the score indicates.
MARTYEWR Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 The Raptors and Nets both missing the playoffs and doing well in the lottery, so the Raptors can get two high lottery picks. (Yeah, it's kind of a number of things rather than one, but the hope is for the Raptors to get a couple high draft picks to make up for the Carter trade.)
sfaJack Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 In my first season of Owner Mode in MVP2005 the world series ended up being Atlanta vs. Minnisota with John Smoltz pitching a complete game shutout in game 7 to win. I'd cream my pants if that really happened. I wouldn't get my hopes up if yesterday is any indication of things to come! As for me, my greatest hope (as it is every year) is for the Cubs to finally win the goddamn World Series. If that is not going to happen, then I'll settle for Mark Prior and Kerry Wood actually making 30 starts each and leading them back to the playoffs.
nl5xsk1 Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 An NHL season with real players. Motion seconded. Thirded.

Looking for the same luck in a video game as real life is a horrible comparison, since in my ESPN 2K5 GM Mode, the Yankees finished 122-40, and their opponents in the World Series was the Philadelphia Phillies (finished with upper 90's wins, but I forget exactly what).
Kaertos Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 At this point, what would make me really happy is for the Reds to stay competitive through the 2005 season. Even if we don;t make the playoffs, even if we don;t make the Series... just so that games in late September (hell, for that matter, games in late August) actually mean something.
CanadianGuitarist Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 An NHL season with real players. Motion seconded. Thirded. Is fourthed a word? I know it's not technically this year, but Peyton Manning making a Superbowl. If it has to be this year, a tie between a miracle run by Jack Nicklaus at Augusta and a NHL season with real players.
Ripper Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I would love to see the suns finally win one, but honestly, despite being a fan of the team for nearly 20 years now, I would rather see the pacers win it all. Oh, and Barry Bonds passing Ruth.

Fourthed is as much of a word as thirded. And why would you want to see Manning get traded to New England? Is he going to back up Brady? /biased and facetious Pats fan Oh, and Barry Bonds passing Ruth. Racist!
brighty Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Andre Agassi wins another Grand Slam then rides off into the sunset and retires.
Ripper Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Oh, and Barry Bonds passing Ruth. Racist! What...I like Barry Bonds, and I am Alabama/Atlanta native so I would prefer him leaving Hammerin Hanks record alone.
Styles Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Wizards winning the NBA title or O's winning the World Series...

What...I like Barry Bonds, and I am Alabama/Atlanta native so I would prefer him leaving Hammerin Hanks record alone. If given the choice of Bonds passing just Ruth, both Ruth AND Aaron, or staying where he is in third place, I'd choose the first (him just passing Ruth). I really don't think that 2nd place is that meaningful, so would have no problems with him ending his career as the second leading all time home run hitter. But to have someone so clouded in steroid scandal break an alltime record would suck. Personally, I wish he retired before passing Mays. I was always a Willie Mays mark, and hated seeing Bonds pass him.
CanadianChris Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 The Blue Jays passing the Yankees on the last day of the season to win the AL East and force the Yankees out of the playoffs.
MARTYEWR Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 The Blue Jays passing the Yankees on the last day of the season to win the AL East and force the Yankees out of the playoffs. I'd like that, but I chose to be a little more realistic with mine. Really, if the Jays match their win total of two seasons ago, I'll be very happy.

TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted April 6, 2005 Author Report Posted April 6, 2005 The Blue Jays passing the Yankees on the last day of the season to win the AL East and force the Yankees out of the playoffs. Oh, I REALLY want that too. But I know it aint gonna happen so I picked the Pacers. Hell I'll even take Baltimore or, if hell freezes, Tampa winning the East. Anyone will do as long as it's not NY or Boston again.
