ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 OK...I've read about how some people are complaining about how Dusty is booking TNA...and how Dutch Mantell and Russo used to book it... So, after watching the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD again...I have to wonder, what would TNA be like if Paul Heyman was made the head booker? I'm not saying give him financial control or anything...just the booking and writing aspect. Theories?
BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 It would be awesome.
tominator89 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 I'm not sure how Heyman would be able to get any of his "edgy" storylines approved from anyone higher up within the company. Cornette would be a great choice for writing basic wrestling storylines.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Well, I'm sure Heyman could still write compelling stories without the super-ECW edginess. One thing's for sure: Raven would be better booked under Heyman than he is now...
Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 It would be awesome. But it'd never happen. He'd be fired the first day for immediately suggesting Jarret lose the title.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Jeff Jarret would beat Sean Waltman in a title match then loss it minutes later in an impromtu match to Raven. Raven then goes on to have the feud of the year with Abyss and then drop title to the big man. Monty Brown's new gimmick would be that he can beat his opponet before his theme music ends. An Impact show with the main event of Shocker vs Shane vs Sabin vs Primetime would of made 2 PPV matches of Daniels vs Primetime and Shocker vs Shane vs Sabin. Shocker would then move on to have a entertaining feud with Sabin. Dustin Rhodes would have a gimmick that works. Shark Boy and D-Ray 3000 would open most shows with comedy matches. The Strippers....I mean the eye candy would at least look like movie of the week actors. The tv figurehead would look credible instead of being a redneck sitting in the back of his picktruck or a Naw Yawker. Don West would have better catch phrases. Guest MikeSC Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Going with ECW post-1996 --- it'd be pretty much the drizzling shits. Heyman's booking was weak. -=Mike
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 I'd put the over/under on yearly spinal fusion surgeries in a Heyman-Booked TNA at 4.
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Don West would have better catch phrases. "BE DIALIN' PEOPLE!!!"
Guest Quik Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Don West would have better catch phrases. "BE DIALIN' PEOPLE!!!" "KEN GRIFFEY JR. ROOKIE CARDS!"
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Jarrett losing the belt would be a smark-friendly, shoot style scenario in which AJ Styles confronts Jeff about hogging the spotlight. "It might be your world, but it's MY time" says AJ, before he and Jeff go on to have a feud climaxing in Jarrett's defeat. Run-in's would make SENSE. Brown would get the Tazz push (legitimate athletic credentials, known badass=indestructible). Raven and Daniels would combine in a cult-like stable. With Heyman aboard, Raven would also have a hand in booking. Bring back Father James Mitchell. Old timers would be used to elevate younger talent (re: Terry Funk, Dusty Rhodes putting over Steve Corino, etc.) instead of battling against each other at the top of the card. Cut back on the shitty, unover guys. Rehab the guys that can work and have been jobbed out to oblivion (David Young, Jimmy Rave, Lex Lovett). Stipulations would be built to, not tossed out for no reason. Petey Williams goes babyface to feud with Bobby Roode.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Here's another thing that would be cool... Replace Don West with someone. Gertner, Cyrus...either would work. ...though if he did that, he might also have to replace Tenay with AJ's brother Joey. (Yes, that's a joke)
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I likve Jimmy Rave right where he is in ROH. I dont want him leaving ROH again:)
Carnival 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Don West would have better catch phrases. "BE DIALIN' PEOPLE!!!" "KEN GRIFFEY JR. ROOKIE CARDS!" "PSA 10 GRIFFEY...PSA 10" "PICK UP A PHONE AN DIAL NOW. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A FOUND RUN, DON'T WALK, RUN TO YOUR NIEGHBORS HOUSE AND ASK TO USE THEIR PHONE." "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IF YOU ARE NOT EXCITED ABOUT THIS DEAL, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY IN A COMA." "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS IS THE GREATEST DEAL, IN THE HISTORY OF DEALS." those are just some of my favs. I used to love that show, just cuz he was so fucking insane. Kardo 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2005 So no feud would ever get a blow off. Matches would be random, some good, some terrible, but no logical elevation.
Fro 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2005 Rumors right now are that Heyman definitely won't be renewed from his WWE contract which is up either late 2005 or early 2006. Some people in TNA are expecting him to come in and save the company.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted April 26, 2005 Then they'll be disappointed. ECW didn't exactly have good or even competent booking after 1996. -=Mike
