2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 I do have to say though, telling people to go to appearances and ask Amy about the situation was pretty unprofessional. People asked him, and he said to ask her. In my opinion, he was showing restraint. And he never said appearances, just said ask her. Amy has an email on her website. tominator89 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 So, I logged on to check any updates and see this! Wow, it sucks seeing a decent guy lose his job. I agree with those who say it's possible that he asked for his release, but with Vince's mentality I'm surprised he didn't immediately plug Matt into a fued with Edge just to milk the intensity for all it's worth. rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 To be fair, Hardy has been a massive goth over the next thing. The rumor that he slashed Edges tires and asked fans to bring it up with Lita are, if true, pretty damn immature. Although, most wrestling fans are also goths, so that should make him over. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 No kidding, what happeded to the days where Vince booked real life angles and let them play out on tv? Perhaps Matt Hardy doesn't want to turn out to be Jake the Snake in his own way after the feud between Roberts and Rude when Rude really did bang his wife. Taker666 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 I never really cared for Matt Hardy much ever sence he moved to Raw, So no big lost. to me anyways. theres still plenty of superstars in the WWE I enjoy watching more than him.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted April 11, 2005 It's official. You cheat with another wrestler's girl/wife, you get a push or at least kept on the company roster and used frequently. You get cheated on, you get jobbed out or fired. Benoit and Edge should start a stable.

King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Wow. Wow for the fact they fired the guy. And wow for how quickly this board's opinion flip-flopped. Matt Hardy starts the V.1 gimmick...Hardy = awesome. Matt Hardy dares to say something bad about the IWC...Hardy = teh suck (sic). Matt Hardy gets fired...and suddenly, he's great again and we're all mourning his departure as if they fired Jericho or Benjamin or someone. In personal terms, it's a shitty situation. It wrestling terms, Hardy hasn't meant anything since jumping to Raw. Which was some time ago. I agree with what someone said earlier...Hardys vs. AMW would make me order a TNA PPV. And by order I mean watch for free on the Wrestling Channel.

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 funny thing i read on pwtorch: Edge and Lita scored points with management when their side of the story did not go public because they were rewarded for keeping things "in house." Well of course they kept it in house and quiet... the story makes them look like scumbags!
Guest Quik Report post Posted April 11, 2005 This is a PR nightmare given how many people know about the Lita/Edge thing. He had to have asked for his release, there's no way they would just outright fire him after all he's been through.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 This is ridiculous. Did WWE expect Matt to accept what happened with a smile and tow the company line? If this was a real workplace situation, Edge and Lita would have been fired but since it's wrestling, the man who was wronged gets canned. I guess the only postive here is that Edge is guranteed heat for a good while.

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 the whole thing is about ten times more entertaining than WWE television.
Styles 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 From PWTorch: There will be a lot of heat on Edge and Lita in some circles for the release of Matt Hardy, but when it comes down to it, of the two (Edge or Hardy), Hardy was more expendable because management is high on Edge and the strides he's taken in the last year, whereas there are strongly mixed opinions on Hardy's marketability, interviews, and ring style among WWE management. Plus, it worked against Hardy in management's eyes that he took the situation public on his website to the point that it led to chants against babyface character Lita at a few events, especially in the Carlinas where Hardy has a strong grassroots following. Edge and Lita scored points with management when their side of the story did not go public because they were rewarded for keeping things "in house." There are some people in power in TNA who are high on Hardy's potential, and others who aren't. Given his national profile, and that his brother Jeff works there, it should be considered a given they'd offer him work. Whether he accepts their offer in terms of pay scale is another matter. -The release of Rhyno (Terry Gerin) isn't going to sit well with some wrestlers, either. While Rhyno gave WWE management the excuse to release him - since they didn't think highly of his look, charisma, or in-ring work - he is going through tough times personally. So the release comes at a time when the last thing he needed was to be jobless. He and his wife are going through a difficult break-up, and she is planning to move their young daughter with her to Germany. Rhyno threw a huge potted plant in a hotel lobby on WrestleMania weekend out of anger when his wife showed up without their daughter. Steve Austin went through a similar situation when his ex-wife Jeannie Williams, who was from England originally, decided to move back to England with their children after their divorce. Rhyno, under a different name of course, could also end up in TNA quickly.

iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 If he was healthy and still wrestling on television, I bet he wouldn't have been fired. But since he was already on the shelf, and they would have had to reintroduce him again and everything, they probably figured they'd be better off just getting rid of him to defuse the whole situation. Especially since there's about a 50/50 chance Edge is getting a World Title run by Summerslam. On the other hand though, if TNA was looking to get big in the shrieking teenage girl demographic, this is their chance! I can just see it now: Airing on Lifetime, it's TNA Impact brought to you by Tampax and Clearasil!

Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 This situation may turn as dentrimental to the organization as when Bischoff fired Syxx ( WWE: TNA :: WCW:WWF) Not really... Why is everyone pretty much saying this is some deathblow to the WWE? A few people have at least. Matt's been gone for quite a while now, and the WWE's doing just fine. Hell, storyline, and rating-wise it's doing better then it has in a long time. So I don't think the permanent absence of Matt Hardy will do any damage to the WWE. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 Well, you do have an interesting situation. You have Matt Hardy, extremely loyal to the company for many years and has defended them even when they fired his brother. He get wronged badly by a man in the locker room who probably is no longer well liked what with his additional mistreatment of Val and Val's family in the past. The WWE claims they are mad at one man but when the time comes to punish, the punishment he receives is a major PPV win (which probably didn't sit well with the guys in the match by then) and the guy he wronged who has been constantly loyal is fired from the company. The level of trust in the WWE locker room has to be dwindling badly now.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 It's not that people think Matt is the savior of wrestling or anything, but he's just been fucked in the ass on this deal. How would you feel if you were on sick leave/injured at your job, had your wife/girlfriend cheat on you with a co-worker, and then you got fired because you got pissed? Christ, this is like a Russo angle with DDP in latter day WCW.
