Dimensions 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Source: PWInsider.com Sources close to the situation confirm that WWE has officially released Aaron "Jesus" Aguilera and Will "Chilly Willy" Jones. Jesus, who appeared on SmackDown! several months back, had been nursing an injury. Jones was signed to an OVW deal after returning from Iraq, where he earned a purple heart. He was also a past performer for ECW. These cuts mark the fourth and fifth releases of the week, as the two join Rhyno, Paul Bearer and Matt Hardy.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 CHILLY WILLY was under contract!?!?!? As for Jesus, never did anything for me, but it sucks to see a guy get released while he's injured.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I find it funny that sidekicks in Cena feuds tend to end up fired. I mean, there was B-2, then Red Dawg (Rodney Mack), now Jesus.
Guest jumpingbombangel Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Jesus! (and I mean that in every sense of the name) DAMN this is STUPID, WWE. YOU ARE SO FREAKING STUPID. Chilly Willy is a WAR VET. BOOK HIM AGAINST HASSAN/DAIVARI, MORONS. There's an ECW PPV coming up. YOU COULDA USED THE GUY. Man I never thought I'd LIVE to see the day I could outbook wrestling, but here I am doing it on a weekly basis. Morons. I would pay the price of a year's worth of PPVs just so I could kick a McMahon in the balls, and that includes Stephanie.

haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Agreed 100%. Theyve fired Chilly Willy who had a $$$ feud with Hassan and Davairi ready to go, and the creative team wouldnt even have to try. On top of that, they released the "reigning" ECW World/Television champion, Rhyno. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with this company?

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 sad to see jesus released. If only cuz it was cool to see a guy I knew from local indies make it to the big time. but then again they have no use for him anyway.

haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I assume they would've given him a different name once he made it to RAW, or Smackdown, or wherever they would've sent him. Was he wrestling as Chilly Willy in OVW?
Carnival 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Chilly Willy is the dumber of the 2 firings. but both of them are pretty much worthless.

Was he wrestling as Chilly Willy in OVW? They called him Will Jones in OVW. He's in his 40's a shadow of his formerself... plus he looks like he couldn't whoop Spike Dudley let along Hassan. Yeah the WWE are morons...

Yeah the WWE are morons... Trust me, the WWE are morons for a lot less, and you know that just as well as anyone else. Anyway, it's better to keep Chilly Willy on and get an enjoyable story steeped in reality rather than keep some of the other nonentities hired. Pointless firing, and this is just another reason why the WWE are idiots.

Why's do you think he's going to keep training in OVW? He's barely been on OVW TV and he's not going to get a developmental deal back for a couple years. Considering OVW is running an amazing 3 house shows this month, I doubt that's enough to pay the bills by itself. You have to understand, you don't just "go to OVW" and get put on TV... there's a ton of homegrown OVW trainees, WWE developmental guys, and experienced indy guys there trying to get WWE deals and get on OVW tv. Celtic Jobber 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 I really thought Jesus would get a push when he recovered from this injury, so his release is somewhat of a suprise (not that I thought he was any good) and I didn't even know Chilly Willy had a WWE deal. We should start a deadpool for who will be released next, I'd say guys like the Hurricane, Rosie, Val Venis, and Steven Richards are probably most in danger of being released

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Not kidding at all, an Iraqi War veteran vs the evil middle eastern guy, the feud writes itself. All they would have to do is play up Willy's military background. But Hassan isn't an Iraqi... To make such an angle work they'd have to go to a crazy extreme such as have Hassan announce his support for the Iraqi insurgents in an in-ring promo or something. And between the tastelessness of that and that he'll probably get death threats, they don't want to go there. If they want to do Hassan versus Guy Who Served In Iraq, they could easily take Road Dogg from TNA and he'd have built-in crowd support since most fans still know who the guy is. As it is, it's too borderline tasteless and insensitive, even for WWE.

Anyone who can confuse a guy acting as an Arab-American for an Iraqi citizen has watched more WWE television that he cares to admit. Sure, Daivari is speaking in Farsi, and "Hassan" is of Italian descent, last I checked, but to confuse the issue further by making him a sympathiser of terrorism is ridiculous. "Chilly Willy" may be a war vet, but anyone can get over as being "pro-USA", even Benoit and Jericho.
