Molly Holly released

Recommended Posts

On the contrary, I believe he may be getting more than he bargained for. He'll practically be teaching calculus to monkeys in the coming months.

He might drink himself to an early grave from frustration.

"What?...Why the hell did you grab the leg?!?! I SAID ARMBAR! HOW THE HELL CAN AN ARMBAR START FROM THE LEG YOU STUPID.....I'm sorry, Dave must go across street to anger management class. Excuse me."

Poor Dave. Poor, poor Dave and poor poor Trish.

Considering all the shit Molly's had to put up with the past couple of years, (the fatass nonsense, granny panty bullshit, her head getting shaved) its a shame she was never really rewarded or featured by the company in any serious way. Hopefully she'll be able to have a better career elsewhere.

What makes me maddest about all this is that, even though I realize it's best for Molly to get away from the freakish mess that has become the WWE wom...er...girl, the company just lost its last tie to the last *real* woman it had.

Not "real" in the sense of no surgery done (I think Keibler can still carry that torch until they get tired of her), but real as in the sense as Molly realized she didn't have to strip in front of stadiums to get attention.

I've said it before, but I'm kinda glad I grew up knowing how women in wrestling are supposed to be.

Wrestlers need to say to hell with this and stage a walkout.

Hey look, it's logic's distant cousin - idiocy

Now, I don't *think* anyone's ever tried a walkout, have they? How would we know it wouldn't at least shake things up?

I remember half the roster no-showed RAW the night after Survivor Series 1997 in protest to the Bret Hart screwing.

That practically crippled the show and the whole show was just HBK and HHH running around wreaking havoc.

Molly Holly asked for her release before RAW went on the air last night upon hearing that WWE was doing another DivaSearch and being told that she would be putting over Christy Hemme again.

Er, what? Source?

I can imagine she'd be unhappy about being jobbed out, but I doubt she'd choose no paycheck at all over some bimbo getting a cash prize.

The wording of the release statement.

When they request release, it says both parties agreed. When they were fired, it just says they were released.

I think they meant what was the source for all the additional info, not the fact she requested it.

We'd just get a show full of HHH, Divas and talentless OVW guys........which is pretty much what it is now.....

Hm, damn, that's right...never mind, then. I'm sure if a walkout was staged now, Raw would still be 90% HHH-centric.

FWIW, I think most of the Diva Search losers who are still around are training in OVW, so Fit doesn't have to deal with them all the time. Good thing they've started the new Atlanta territory because OVW's beginner training classes are full with all these rejects plus a lot of the TE4 guys trying to train and another wave of talentless eye candy on the way in a few months.

I hope this whole "we roll our own" mentality really comes back to bite the WWE in the ass. They are wasting SO much money and time trying to train bodybuilders and strippers how to wrestle when there are still perfectly good indies out there just waiting to be raided.

If there was any sanity, they'd call up her and Alexis Laree already.

But there isn't any sanity so Jillian and Alexis may get pink slips instead.... at least if WWE remembers that those two women still exist.

Alexis won't get released. They have to reveal her boobs to the world first. Then they can fire her.

And don't forget the time Lawler was all over her like a horny teenager asking her if she really was a virgin. Making Molly feel very uncomfortable. Hell even JR was on him to cut it out.

So, Japan is the next step then? There isn't a whole lot in the way of women's wrestling in America. There's a talented division in the IWA:MS, she might get work in TNA...other than that, I guess Japan is here only real option.

Good for Molly. I'm glad someone took a stand against this crap.

Where did you read this?

Keep waiting, it's not going to happen... they're all about making money and fooling their money mark stockholders that there is big growth potential in getting up to 24 PPVs a year with 2 different brands.

If they ever recombine the brands, the stock price is going to plummet.

Huh?? I remember Nowinski teaming with her and saying that he was going to bust Molly's cherry and Regal getting on Nowinski about chasing after Molly.

Was the angle suppose to lead to some kind of rape storyline?

Who knows where it was supposed to lead. WWE just forgot about it one day and stuck Nowinski in the Hardcore division.

I am in total support of Molly getting canned. The WWE is finally starting to realize that it will never be a legitimate wrestling show for women, cruiserweights, or anyone else under 250 lbs. They need people who can be gawked at (either through steroids or breast implants) so that things that hardcore fans want (wrestling, good angles, etc.) are so unimportant that they don't matter.

Trish is the best example of this, and pretty much the embodiment of all that is wrong (in my view) of WWE training and booking. I say "in my view" because WWE thinks that they are getting great success from it, so much so that they would put on another Diva Search. Trish started as most of these current divas did. Not knowing anything about being a good wrestler, but was just eye candy. She hurts herself, and all of a sudden, she wants to wrestle. And she works her ass off to be half-decent in the ring and good on the mic. And it works, she's over, big, all because she learned the WWE style without any "negative" influence from any other wrestling company. Victoria is the same to a lesser extent, and why I think she may still have a job.

Now WWE thinks that they can do that with any woman they pick up of the street, knowing that if it doesn't work, and if the women subject themselves to enough physical augmentation (or look so good that they don't need it), then they can be eye candy. Nidia was good potential for a wrestling character, but her apparent ugliness got her canned. A better example is Jazz, and now Molly (and Molly looked way better). Shaniqua had an attitude, but you can see that WWE was reluctant to let her go with the fetish gear and the boob job. Torrie and Stacy are still around, and exactly what do they bring to the table besides a Playboy spread and 40 inch legs? Don't even get me started on Lita.

And hey, we can argue against it, but it won't change their minds. It never has, and it never will. Anyone watch Viva Las Divas? Notice how many diva losers were on that thing? I was told at least three, and Christy, and the Smackdown Divas, but no Molly. They were so much in need of eye candy that they had to get Lilian Garcia to do a photoshoot. But that's the point. That's where WWE makes the money. Selling bikini shoots on DVD and bikini magazines. That's it. Nothing else.

Am I mad that Molly quit? Nope. She can go on and do things much more enjoyable than getting her head shaved at the "biggest Wrestlemania of all time" or putting over someone nowhere near her league, or having to be reduced to playing a prude because she won't get naked for 3.99 a copy. Trish I can understand. She worked her way up and became a star, with a lot of help from the WWE. Molly didn't need the WWE after 2001, so instead of doing the right thing and firing her then, they did the same thing they did to everyone they haven't liked since the Invasion, they buried her. Hard. If she really did quit, then good for her.

Strange that had they kept him doing that angle and not go to the Hardcore division its possible Nowinski would still be around today as he wouldn't have gotten that concussion that more or less ended his career.

What I want to know is what jagoff really IS supporting this BS in wrestling by spending money on DVDs of heifers who don't even get naked for him.

Where are these people at so I can sell them a few sturdy bridges outside of Tempe? Then I can kick them in the ass afterward for being so stupid.

Seriously fuck this company. I'm sick of them firing decent to good wrestlers so they can sign more Diva Search whores and generic hosses.

Damn it.

This sucks. I always enjoyed watching Molly wrestle because she was a legitmate woman wrestler. No stupid gimmicks. For instance, Lita impregnated with Kane's spawn. She was just a plain wrestler that knew how to work. That leaves Trish, Victoria, and Lita as the only women on the Raw roster that at least know how to put together a match. Not necessarily a good match, but at least something that is tolerable to sit through. The WWE might want to consider moving Dawn Marie off SD to at least make the women's division kind of exist. As it is right now they might as well just have a fatal four-way match between the 4 women wrestlers at PPV's. Hell they might as well through Stacy and Lillian Garcia in to the women's division at this rate.

This seems to be the direction the WWE is going in a lot of cases. The Tag Team division on both rosters is complete and udder crap. The WWE has seemed to forget they have the Tag Team Title Belts. Whatever happened to real tag teams? I'm tired of seeing the random conglomerations of guys that don't belong together teaming up.

Regal and Tajiri? Absolutely worthless.

The WWE just made me throw up.

Can't disagree with any of that, Karc. And Trish is a bloody good example of what can be achieved by hard work - and boy, has she worked hard. Especially when you consider how bad she used to be. Now... well, she'd never outshine the AJW wrestlers but she's one of the best Divas turned performers in the west, is a cracking heel, and hugely popular with the fans. Except it's taken, what, four years of hard work to get her here? All the women put over how much work Finlay's done with them, and it shows in their style and their ability (Lita excepted...). But with only Victoria as a credible opponent for Trish at the moment, Finlay or whoever gets to train all these Divasearch winners and rejects is going to have an absolute mare of a time. How long will take to get this lot even vaguely credible in the ring? The women's division is about to be a perpetual rerun of the Jackie Gayda car crash, or just reduced to pillow fights and lingerie matches.

I can understand Molly not being big on that - IIRC she's a devout Christian and a decent wrestler, and seeing everything canned in favour of a return to T&A matches must be pretty galling. Hopefully she's got enough saved that she can pick and choose indie matches, if she wants to go that way - especially with AJW and GAEA up the creek. And unless TNA decide to develop a women's division, can't see her having much to do there.

Further proof that VKM has finally, completely, lost his mind.

Hey.. relase Jillian and Alexis while your at it.. I wouldnt mind ROH picking up Alexis, Jillian, and Molly. Add them in with Traci, Daizee, Alison and the rest of the girls there.. and you REALLY have a Womens division. Of course, dont overkill ROH with women wrestling, but I'm a fan of giving them a match slot and a possible "dark" match slot. I would drool If I ever got to see Molly Holly v. Daizee Haze
