Vern Gagne Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 Something different. Discuss, topics and take the side you don't necessarily agree with. The TO contract situation. While, I think TO should of privately approached Eagles managment about re-working his contract. It is fair to believe TO, should be amongst the leagues highest paid WR's, and overall players in the league.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 14, 2005 Report Posted April 14, 2005 I think Dusty Baker is a great manager. Uh, and Rasheed Walace is a great spokesperson for family planning...
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I think it was great the Pirates got a new stadium to make the team more competitive. With the added revenue the increased ticket prices from Three Rivers to PNC, it really has done a number on Pittsburgh's payroll...
LaParkaMarka Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 The ESPN Sunday Night broadcast occaisonally offers insightful commentary. Some of their in-depth pieces are not terrible. The bickering between the commentators in not the only redeeming factor of their broadcast.
Mik Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 John Kruk is a bastion of unparalleled baseball knowledge.
therealworldschampion Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Chris Wheeler is the greatest announcer in Phillies history. Harry Who? Scott Who? Freddie Mitchell is one of the top WRs in the NFL today. That Bill Belichick, he just can't deal with Freddie's greatness...
Vern Gagne Posted April 15, 2005 Author Report Posted April 15, 2005 Rick Sutcliffe and Chris Berman are like listening to a Mozark Symphony, while savoring a fine vintage wine.
the max Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Replacement players are better than players with actual NHL experience.
razazteca Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Mike Tyson should be alphabet boxing champion again or dominate K-1.
iggymcfly Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 The Orioles don't need pitching. Rodrigo Lopez is a guaranteed 25-game winner, and with that lineup (possibly the best in the majors), they can just outhit everyone they play. After switching pitching coaches in the middle of last season, they had the second lowest ERA in the AL last year, so there's no reason to think they shouldn't be top five in pitching this year. The Orioles should win 100 games this year, and edge out the Yankees for first in the AL East. Hey, this is fun.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I'm glad ESPN and other Sports Media pimp the Yanks and Sox all season. I mean, aside from the Northeast, nobody even bothers to follow baseball...
nogoodnick Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Jimmy Fallon is SOOOO funny! I love his movies!!!
Crimson Platypus Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I really wish Tom Brady could get some more media love. I mean the guy gets no respect. He should be mentioned right up there with Montana, Young, Favre, etc. In fact I'm going to petition ESPN to no longer call him Tom Brady, and from now on just Brady.
MARTYEWR Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I hope Vince Carter scores 60 points against the Raptors tonight.
The Czech Republic Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Having Bob Brenly stand by every move Dusty Baker makes actually makes it more enjoyable to watch a ballgame.
Bored Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Derek Jeter is Jesus Christ himself. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a pagan.
The Czech Republic Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Best thing about Derek Jeter is that he makes the hardest plays look easy.
Lightning Flik Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Bonds will return by May and not only smash the all-time home run record, but once again prove his dominance at hitting by nailing 100 HRs in a single season.
2GOLD Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 The Chicago Cubs don't need Prior and Wood to make it to the World Series, they can get there on the great home run power of their line-up and Hawkins slamming the door shut each and every game. Steve Kline is very misunderstood and deserves a second chance in Baltimore. After all, with his great work coming out of the bullpen how could you possibly trade or release the guy?
Lightning Flik Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 The Blue Jays will be your World Series winners this year. We'll also get to mock the Yankees and RSoxs by being in the playoffs and they aren't.
sfaJack Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Gary Sheffield should get a 30-day unpaid suspension for his ridiculous actions in Boston last night. What a dark day for baseball.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I just have to say what an intelligent, original thread this has been.
The Czech Republic Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Also worth pointing out that we're not really playing devil's advocate. We're just pretending it's Opposite Day.
Lightning Flik Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 No, I was playing Devil's Advocate with saying Jays win it all and the Yanks and Sox look on the outside. We've got a really solid team this year.
Damaramu Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 So is this thread to talk about unpopular positions or things that just aren't true?
CanadianChris Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 I LOVE DAMARAMU. I think that accomplished both.
Guest Smues Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Jeff Maier is my hero and I certainly don't hold a grudge against him and still wish he was cut up into tiny pieces and scattered accross the oceans.
The Czech Republic Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Let's end this thread right here, CanChris pretty much finished it off.
