Slickster Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Yeah, I think this was more of a "thank you" to Ratzinger than anything else; after all, he was JPII's right-hand man for many years. I think it's clear he's not expected to have a long reign. And yes, he was a member of the Hitler Youth: however, it wasn't exactly a voluntary decision to sign up. I'm told that the only alternative was death.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 So "God's mortal representation" or whatever he's considered, is a hitler youth From what I heard, his dad was in the Nazi party, so it's not like he had a choice as a kid to go to Nazi Daycamp... oh...well, touche
The Czech Republic Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Unlike Poland, Germany isn't really a Catholic nation. I think it's only Bavaria that's primarily Catholic; the rest of the country is predominantly Protestant.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 19, 2005 Author Report Posted April 19, 2005 And yes, he was a member of the Hitler Youth: however, it wasn't exactly a voluntary decision to sign up. I'm told that the only alternative was death. I signed up because they had cool water rides and hot women counselors, although I never ate any of the "mystery meat" (tempted to make a "kosher" remark but I'll refrain for now...)
Masked Man of Mystery Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I was hoping for the South American fellow, but here's hoping things work out
Ted the Poster Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 And yes, he was a member of the Hitler Youth: however, it wasn't exactly a voluntary decision to sign up. Did the lamps all produce an odd odor?...
Stephen Joseph Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 So does anyone know if he's a benedictine? (Malachy's prophecy)
The Czech Republic Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 So does anyone know if he's a benedictine? (Malachy's prophecy) I dunno. His name is Benedict XVI though
sfaJack Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Well, this is just a little bit too late late now, but I got this via e-mail this morning...
LessonInMachismo Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 He gives me a Dr. Klopek (from The 'Burbs) vibe...
Boon Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Wasn't there a prophecy that this pope was supposed to have a short term, and then we'd be at Judgment Day, or the end of the world, or something?
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 19, 2005 Author Report Posted April 19, 2005 Probably. There's a prophecy for anything...
Justice Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Ratzinger sounds too much like John Ratzenberg Its Pope Cliff. This was my first thought.
2GOLD Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Wasn't there a prophecy that this pope was supposed to have a short term, and then we'd be at Judgment Day, or the end of the world, or something? Well, maybe that means he'll die around the same time WWE JUDGMENT DAY is about to air. I'm sorry, but I don't believe in Prophecies. You can easily fulfill the "next Pope will have a short term" prophecy when you bring in a guy who looks like one foot is already in the grave.
Rob E Dangerously Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I congratulate Zell Miller on his election to be Pope.. wait a minute.. that's not Zell Miller It's.. DAS POPE As a half-German and a non-Catholic.. I say.. it's about damned time we had a German Pope. I won't hold the Hitler Youth thing against him, since they made him join.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Being a member of the Hilter Youth is really a non-issue. In Germany at that time it wasn't much diferent than being a member of the Boy Scouts is now. It's not like he was a member of the SS or something.
Rob E Dangerously Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 And the last thing that you think of when it comes to Pope Zell I is "youth"
Slayer Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I prophecize that the next post will suck Ratzinger sounds too much like John Ratzenberg Its Pope Cliff. This was my first thought. It has come to pass!
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Seriously, fuck this guy. I don't like the looks of him for some reason.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 He looks far too shifty. Of course he'd look shifty "Pedophilia...eh what are you going to do...boys will be boys" "Priests allowed to marry...oooh hells no, I ain't about to be letting that happen"
Rob E Dangerously Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Holy Father, I'm pleased to meet you Right back at ya, my son
The Ill One Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 So didn't people predict it'd be a liberal pope, this guy's a steadfast conversative. I don't really care for him either but, hey, he's already towards dying... right? My greatest sorrow is now the Daily Show can't use the "Pope Secret" screen.
Vyce Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Wow, how anticlimactic. Pope Bono would have been a lot of fun. C'mon, you know it would have been. Instead we just got the Kraut.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 He looks like how Mickey would have looked in Rocky V had he not died in III
Guest El Satanico Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 He will come to me? I have foreseen it. His compassion for you will be his undoing. He will come to you and then you will bring him before me. As you wish.
Vern Gagne Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 I prophecize that the next post will suck Ratzinger sounds too much like John Ratzenberg Its Pope Cliff. This was my first thought. It has come to pass! That prophecy was on par with the fake Nostradeums prophecy about 9-11.
