Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 I think only Peter and his family are Catholic. And that really only goes for his dad. Lois is a "Protestant whore." I thought at the beginning Peter said he hated Passion 1 (and therefore wanted to spare the public a sequel), in which case he's not anti-Catholic, he just has good movie taste He called Jesus a "children's character," though. When did he call Jesus a childrens character? Not in this episode.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 the time that they did the Kids going to bed scene from Sound of Music. That was without a doubt my least favorite FG joke attempt ever Although it makes sense since it was probably my least favorite episode IMO, the Jewish episode was fucking hilarious. All you need to know is this... The Sound of Music bit was from the Black Knight episode (to reiterate, my least fav ep) when Mr. Weed comes to the Griffins' for dinner The Jewish episode was pretty good, although after it was finally allowed to air it seemed like it was on every week or so to make up for lost time. On the commentary for that episode Seth explains that the only way they could use the song [sound of Music] on the show was if they didn't make fun of it, or use it in a mocking manner hence why its used in a completely straight way. I thought parody was protected from copyright laws, unless he was pulling a Weird Al and asking out of courtesy. Point is, I still hated it. It's one of the few scenes I'll skip past when watching my DVDs (that and Stewie's rendition of "Rocketman"... cute the first time, dragging on subsequent views)
Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 It could have definately been shorter, but seth green hitting the high note and stewie doing the slide up the steps makes me laugh everytime.

Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 Between the two horrible Simpsons episodes, the over-rated FG episode, and the soon-to-be-canceled AD, last night was a painful two hours of TV to watch. I kept myself watching, thinking: a) I've seen these ads for weeks now, they HAVE to have something good b) no way these shows can stay this 'blah' for the entire 2 hours. What a waste of a Sunday night. I couldn't agree more. Although I stopped watching after Family Guy. That was horrible. Well, not horrible, but nothing was laugh out loud funny really. The only part I liked was when Gibson shot the lock to take out another gun. Other than that, it was too blah. Eh.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 I thought parody was protected from copyright laws, unless he was pulling a Weird Al and asking out of courtesy. If I remember correctly, they didn't change up the song, and thus they can't use it without permission.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 ^ I don't know. I really don't like reference that isn't parody. Ok. So you inserted a G.I. Joe PSA into the episode. What did you do with it besides play out a scene word-for-word? Reference itself isn't that funny. It's like that episode where they play out the "hair gel" scene from "There's Something About Mary" with no difference except the fact that Stewie was standing in for Cameron Diaz. Where was the punchline? I agree with this sentiment. I also think that American Dad is absolute garbage and one of the worst shows I've ever seen. I dunno about worst, I mean, there's the Mullets...but unfunny and derivitive, absolutely Damn was I the only one who liked The Mullets? yikes thats pretty scary. ant_7000 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 I forgot about the "Ponochio" bit, the Passion of the Christ 2 was hilarious. Jesus: Do you know how to use this *Showing the Gun* Chris Tucker: Do you know how to use this *Showing a Joint*
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 When Flint showed up, I think I almost died laughing. Totally unexpected. That's why I love this show. I can NEVER see the jokes coming.

EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 I don't know if this has been asked but, was the guy that voiced Flint in FG the same voice actor that did Flint in the GI Joe cartoon? Cause my sister and me thought he sound EXACTLY like him from the show.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 The guy who voiced Flint is still around, so it wouldn't be too hard for them to get him to come in and do a few lines. I just don't think the joke would've worked if Duke or General Hawk did the lines. Flint was totally the star of that show.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Whatever. Snake eyes was the star of the show. ^^ tha mutha fuckin MAN.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Only in the comics. Snakeeyes, despite his supreme overness and being the most interesting character, didn't get a lot of screen time. Actually, he was hardly used after the first season.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 I loved everything that was on. Some of you are like overly negative. The Simpsons was funny, Family Guy was hilarious, and American Dad was damn funny too.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2005 Dama, you like Jay Leno. We have no reason to take you seriously when it comes to humor, as you can apparently find anything funny. Umm.....humor is subjective. So you can't really say "you think that's funny so you have no sense of humor." That's just ignorance.

Guest JMA Report post Posted May 4, 2005 I enjoyed this week's Family Guy, but I still haven't got into American Dad yet. As for The Simpsons, I found this week's episodes to be average. I really wish there were no more guest-stars, though.

Sorry, I just can't get into a guy who goes for punchlines so obvious that a deaf guy could know what's coming. Also, Kevin Eubanks is the male Robin Quivers. I much preferred the previous guy. Red Baron 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2005 No, the worst was Stewie doing Rocket Man. It's like 10 minutes long. Thats tolerable. The worst was Brian and Stewies, sing-a-long on the Road to Rhode Island episode (I think thats the episode name)
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2005 Actually I really liked the Rocket Man clip. The longest tangents are always the best. See also: chicken gave me a bad coupon. The Rhode Island musical number was pretty bad, I don't think the Road To Europe one was a great deal better.
