Now maybe I am wrong here, but if one is released, can't they do anything they want? It isn't like he quit, they got rid of him.

His contract isn't up till June or July 11 (I forget which). Hows that possible?

They can work anywhere but TNA.

And Matt Hardy is still getting paid his downside guarantee by WWE

He won't be wrestling, he'll just be there. Like Tommy Dreamer did in ROH for example.

He can't wrestle until after July 11th, so I'm pretty sure he'll just be there and sign autographs.

Yeah, I was thinking the same, he should have a no compete clause. But yeah, he will be there, in non wrestling capacity, but he could have a role in the show. That would be cool. If he does, I wanna see how he will written into the storylines.

Well, JAPW said themselves that Matt would be there in non wrestling capacity. Maybe they didn't wanna piss off WWE or something.

What do the WWE care if a wrestler goes to Japan?

Ask Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar would actually make an impact in Japan. I cant see Matt doing that...

I wouldn't see Jamal or Bull Buchanan making an impact in Japan, but they are. Very strange times over there. Jamal beat Kobashi in a match.

I never understood how that could be legal.

Does that work for other sports too?

No idea. Good question, though.

While it's not a sport at all, if people get laid off from my company, part of their severance package includes rules about talking about the company for 3 months, along with a no-compete clause for up to one year.

Yeah, Japan does some whacky stuff. Hell, Bart Gunn was over in Japan. They qualify what they like to watch differently than we do in the states.

I could see Matt doing very well in Japan, play up his use of the Black Tiger Bomb, bill him as the American Tiger or something definatively Japanese. It would work.

And the WWE can't stop Matt from showing up at shows, just from actively working a match.
