Weird eating habits and quirks.....

Recommended Posts

Ok so who has any weird like eating habits or quirks? I have a lot.

I can't eat a lot of vegetables because I can't stand the texture. They taste fine but I hate the way they feel in my mouth.

When I get pizza I have to take at least one slice apart piece by piece and seperate the meat and cheese into 2 seperate piles then i eat them seperately.

I also will do this with hamburgers. I'll take a section of it apart and eat it piece by piece.

You're gonna have to explain that one further...

Ok I'll eat like let's say 4 pieces of pizza.

I'll take one and I'll just pull it apart and take all the meat off and put it in a pile. Then all the cheese and put it in a pile. Then I eat the crust then the meat and then the cheese. I don't know why. I just like the way the cheese tastes. It's pretty good....don't ask why I do it though.

Why don' t you just order a plain pizza then?

I just woof my food down -- I have no time to be quirky with my eating habits...

Because I like the way the cheese and meat tastes when seperated like that.

I eat all of one thing, then all of another, no alternating. Like all my potatoes, then all my corn, then all my steak. It's my OCD.

I do that too, it's a habit from when I was a little kid. "Save the best for last" I always said and ate things in order building up to whatever was best. People used to ask what if you were too full to eat that last portion, but I was a little fatso so that was no problem.

I have to alternate during a meal. My brother has the no-alternating OCD.

Also, sometimes the tiniest thing he does sets me off and I wind up beating him nearly unconcious. They say I need help.

I can't eat certain vegetables because of the texture. Onions for example. I'm not overly fond of the taste of them to begin with, but I don't mind them that much. However, the texture makes me gag. I'll only eat them if they're very finely chopped up.

I also do not like whole slices of tomato. If I am forced to eat one in a sandwich, I requre that the sandwich be heated, because there's nothing worse than eating a cold slice of tomato.

Actually, in general, outside of maybe PB&J sandwiches, I like ALL of my sandwiches to be heated or toasted. Also, if I'm eating a sandwich or burger, I will turn over the sandwich and look at it from all angles so as to plan my first bite down to my last. This sort of ties in with the "save the best for last" philosophy others have stated here, as I usually leave the "best" part of the sandwich for last. This is usually the part of the sandwich or burger that has a nice corner of cheese or a crisp piece of bacon, etc.

I'm not sure if this is OCD or not, but my food CANNOT TOUCH on my plate. If it does, I'm grossed out. This doesn't really apply to all foods, mind you, but for some it does. I mean, if I'm eating a burger & fries, I'm not going to freak out if the fries are touching the burger / bun. But if I'm eating, for example, a traditional Southern soul-food type meal, I can't have my meat touching my corn, or the mashed potatoes and gravy touching.....pretty much anything. And should I ever see someone sopping up a liquid like gravy or egg yolk? Oh god, I will gag. It just sickens me.

Oh, this isn't so much a weird or quirky thing, but I love potatoes. I'll eat some sort of potato meal at least once every week. Baked potatoes, fries, hash browns, latkes, something.

I eat wings w/ a knife & fork.

When eating a dinner consisting of meat/poultry/fish, potato, vegetable, I prefer to keep the components separate (i.e. no pushing everything into 1 pile). Not OCD, as I don't freak out if a stray pea ventures into the potato area.

Some of you people are freaks.

With the exception of sub sandwiches, I always eat the crust or outer portion first and eat the center portion last.

Whenever I go the seafood buffet near me, I always start with scallops and walnut shrimp, and end with a serving of green tea ice cream.

If I get a bottle of lemon-lime soda, I purposely shake it and drink it flat.

Know what balut is? Yeah, I eat that on a frequent basis. It makes me laugh whenever they bust it out on game shows as a "gross out" food.

I'm that way has well. Tonight I had dinner at my parents. Crescent Rolls first, corn second, rice third, and Lambshops last. Than I drank my milk and finished it off with a fruit salad.

I was gonna point out how I thought all of y'all's eating habits were weird, but then I realised that this was the point of the thread. CC is the worst I think.

Oh, and those two chocolate bars have to be cold when I'm eating them, so the chocolate comes off easier.

And Rolos are best frozen.

Hmm.

I used to do that "My food cant touch on the plate or it will explode" thing until a few years ago.

I still have a thing somtimes about having an odd number of things on my plate (not counting everyting on my plate, but say a piece of meat, vegetable and starch for 3, etc..)

When I'm eating a sandwich with a drink, let's say can of pop, I always eat half the sandwich, drink half the pop, eat the other half of the sandwich, and then drink the other half of the pop.

Forgot to add this.

Not so much a "weird" eating habit, but I cannot eat any sort of cream or milk based sauce. It just nauseates me. New England clam chowder? Please. I WILL vomit.

I, like Vyce, dislike onions. They're nastily crunchy and sickeningly slimy. The difference between McDonald's fucking your order up as compared to Taco Bell fucking your order up is that you don't know your TB order is fucked up until you eat it. What are you going to do, unroll a burrito? Right now, TB is at about 70% efficiency on my spicy chicken burrito orders. I order them without fiesta sauce, but 30% of the time, I almost gag from the crunch and taste of onion.

Tomatos...I also dislike them, unless they are ketchup or salsa...

My biggest quirk is that I do not like variety in a meal. If I eat a burger, I want bun, meat and ketchup. The adding of lettuce, tomato, etc. ruins the taste that the meat and bun make together. The same thing with sandwiches...bread, meat and mayo and sometimes cheese. Pizza...crust, sauce, cheese and one type of meat. Burrito...tort, meat, beans and/or rice, sauce.

I'll eat about anything, if it's food, and it's clean.

I won't eat peanuts, walnuts, almonds, cashews, etc. I won't eat them at all...ever...

whenever I eat a bowl of cereal or a bowl of ice cream, I have to have a heeping glass of milk along with it and I take a swig after every single bite...

A buddy of mine eats everything plain, and I mean PLAIN...when he eats pancakes, he eats them without syrup or even butter...hamburgers and hotdogs with nothing on them, just bread and meat...ribs without the BBQ sauce...mash potatoes, no gravy...

I won't touch popcorn unless I'm at the theater, and I didn't pay for it.

I never eat cereal. Probably haven't had any in 10 years or so.

I eat a bowl of cereal or ice cream every night before bed...chocolate or cookies and cream ice cream only and Apple Jacks or Rice Chex with TONS of sugar...that's it...
