CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I hate anything other than meat or cheese on my sandwiches. If they mess up and put onion on it I need a new bun because of the taste. That's me. The worst is when they screw up and put mayo on it, then put the same toppings on a different slice of bread. THE TOPPINGS STILL HAVE MAYO ON THEM!!! When I eat a bag of M&Ms, I like to separate them into different colours, then eat each colour separately. I also cannot eat vegetables. I have very sensitive taste buds, and most veggies are way too bitter for me to get down without gagging. My wife insists on not having any foods touching on her plate. We both hate cream sauces. Dama is strange.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I generally like my burgers plain too. Meat & cheese, maybe some mayo, maybe ketchup or lettuce if I'm feeling REAL adventurous, but otherwise the plainer the better. And oh yeah, I hate that bullshit in sit-down restaurants where they pretty much ignore your special order because "the toppings come separately". Uh, no they don't, they come sitting on top of the top half of the bun, and all those icky juices from the tomato and pickle have already seeped down into the bread by the time it gets to me. For christs sake, it takes LESS effort to give me a plain burger, you fucking morons. Give the customer what they fucking asked for.
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I just have to say that some of you people are dowanright strange. The only strange thign I can think of is that I like peanuts but dislike peanut butter for some odd reason. I can stand it, but I can't remember the last time I've eaten a PB&J
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I don't like little vegetables in my food. If there must be a vegetable, it has to be a full big ass one. Not the small little tomatoes, and green shit that makes me gag. That includes onions. If there must be onion, not the tiny ones; I prefer the big slices. I also hate tuna fish sandwiches with bread; or tuna fish with anything. I'll only eat tuna fish with crackers.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 You people who don't mix the food on your plate and only eat things separately are freaks. I used to eat plain burgers as well, only out of ignorance. Once I discovered the absolute joy of lettuce and tomato I can't go back. I dunno if this is a weird habit or not, but once I eat something and get food poisoned from it, I will never eat it again. Ever. Subway, for example. Loved it. Got food poisoning, threw up for hours, can't enter one without feeling ill. Ditto for McDonalds' McChicken sandwiches, and Arbys Everything.

I go out of my way to make sure they understand that I don't want any of that served with my burger and that gives me a 50/50 chance at best. And it's always onion first on the bread which you can never get over the taste of. And yes I hate that they ruin a third of your fries with the pickles. Vyce 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 Add me to the club of people who don't like fat on their meat. I usually cut those portions off and feed them to my dog. It tastes awful. And the texture makes me gag. BTW, RRR, I'm not surprised you got food poisoning from Subway. It happened to me once. It was years before I ate there again. But whenever I order there, I make sure to never eat the ham and to always get my shit nuked. Or better yet, just go to Quiznos, they're only a thousand percent better in absolutely every way, shape and form.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 29, 2005 And only like a thousand times more expensive for what you get too. You can get a full-long with a ton of meat and cheese on it at Subway for the same price you get a crappy bare-bones 8-inch at Quizno's. Yet, I'm not surprised at it happening, Subway seems to be the chain that it most frequently happens at, since all the stores are franchised. That's really a store you have to kind of observe with how clean it is, more importantly than a lot of other places, since the meat is supposed to be fresh and clean, whereas at most burger joints for example, the bad shit is cooked right out usually. Special K 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I don't think many people at all like swallowing big gobs of fat, but what's the big deal about cutting it off and leaving it on the plate? If you like your steak charred to a crisp, I posit that you probably just don't like steak. A lot of you are big pussies.

And the texture makes me gag. When I was a kid, I used to do the same thing. But pork fat is extremely good. Go to Chinatown and get the fatty cuts of fried pork, and it's awesome. A nice crispy skin, sweet fat, and meat. Really nice marinade. You'll change your mind.

Please, it's like maybe two bucks more than Subway, and I've always gotten PLENTY of meat and cheese. And the food tastes better. And no one fucks up my order, which has only happened every time I've gone to Subway, EVER, no matter WHICH one I go to. Subway = ass. I'd rather pay the extra and get a quality sub sandwich. haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 Honey Mustard is put on nearly everything I eat: Burgers, Fries, Steak, Chicken, Sandwiches, etc. I eat everything on my plate, one item at a time I DO NOT allow anything on my plate to come into contact with something else. Ketchup is the devil!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I'm not a big fan of Quiznos either. I prefer going to my local grocery store (Dominion for all yall Canuckers) and picking up their subs made from leftover meat from their deli and bread from their bakery. It's cheaper, more filling, and IMO tastes better.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I, for the most part, am against condiments on subs. Ever since I ate a sub so smothered in mustard it was all I could taste. Fuck that. As far as weird eating habits...my girlfriend is always taunting me about how I am always hungry. I work alot, and never eat at work, so when I'm not at work I eat like a pig. I'm always hungry when not on the clock. I eat at like 2 or 3 in the morning some nights cause cravings hit.
Special K 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 Subway's OK, but it can't compare to Quizno's, much less a local deli. I get on my sub: lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, cuke, pepperocini, jalapenos, carrots, spinach, salt & pepper, vinegar. No meat, because Subway's meat is pretty subpar. If anything i'd probably go get some Carl Buddig to put on that shit. Carl Buddig and Land O' Lakes are my favourite reconstituted meat products. Mmmmm. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 I think I have the weirdest eating habits here.......I'm a very picky eater though. Oh KFC. I usually take the skin off and eat it seperately from the chicken.

I almost eat any sandwich/burger with some sort of acidic/sour stuff on it. Pickles, vinegar, olives, jalapenos. hot peppers, whatever. Something of that nature, even when I eat a steak sub. I haven't eaten potato chips in any significant portion in years, and the first time I tried a couple last week, my stomach felt like shit. It tastes horrible to me now as well. I don't like chocolate, except for white. I love eating popcorn with salsa. Whenever I eat popcorn at the movie theatre, I ask for a cup of salsa to go with my popcorn. More people should do this. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 After reading this thread again, I must admit I do the separation of portions, and I usually eat veggies first to get them out of the way before enjoying my slaughtered animal section of my meal. Also, if I paid for the steak, I'll eat everything it came with, sans bones. And Quiznos is more expensive than subway, and the local store where I live seems to have started skimming the portions. Grrr. Oh, side story: A little while ago I was getting a sub for the better half and the Quiznos people were talking amongst themselves. The manager said they just got Mystery Shopped and one of the things they got busted for was not suggesting soup/cookies/etc. to customers when they were paying for their order. I said something like, "Please don't start doing that -- one of the reasons I like coming in here is because you don't try to pimp me everying under the sun." They replied, after taking a few seconds to figure out my meaning of "pimp," "Really you don't like being suggested other items to eat?" And we all had a good laugh. I then went out to my car and had to wait several minutes for this Mexican family to figure out how to lock the doors to their rental car (it had the rental plates; either that or it was stolen). Just another exciting day in western PA...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 30, 2005 Don't you like to taste the steak? How do you tell the difference between cuts? I like the taste of burnt steak. I also barely have a sense of smell, so I can't really taste most things distinctly unless I see it. Some things stand out regardless, but generally, If I can't see it I can't really taste it. All soft drinks just taste like "sweet" to me, to the point of being unable to distinguish between Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper once, except diet sodas which have a chemical taste to me. As for different cuts of meat, I usually order cheaper ones since I just get them slightly past well done anyway. Fuck a bunch of meat juice. I can eat it like that, but don't enjoy it as much. If it's pink or redder, I won't touch it. I also overcook any other terrestrial meat, and eggs. Yet I can eat raw fish, so whatever.
Guest Brian Report post Posted April 30, 2005 I realize you may not distinguish taste, but texture too? I nice piece of rare beef tenderloin can melt in your mouth. Doesn't the chewy and dry texture of overcooked meat feel weird in your mouth?
