TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 Yah I stole the idea but whatever. I'm just curious if anyone would be interested. We all draft and at the end and we decide who has the best team somehow(by votes maybe?). So if you'd be interested just reply here. If I get enough people I'll set it up and we'll do it the same way as the baseball one. Any interest?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I choose Michael Jordan.... Seriously though, the purpose of the MLB one was to lead into a league made of said drafted picks. For the NBA one to work, you'd need to simulate at least a season's worth to determine unbiasedly who has the better team. A vote isn't going to cut it.
LooseCannon25 Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 With the third pick in the draft, Loosecannon25 chooses............................. George Muresan
nogoodnick Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 I dont think an NBA league will work as well. Wilt Chamberlin averaged 50 pts for a season.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 I choose the greatest player to have play in the NBA... Ron Artest's right fist. Seriously... an NBA league wouldn't work, even if simulated. It just doesn't sound interesting enough, especially since NBA games are a lot more random. Baseball games, evenm with ultimate lineuyps, can maybe score only 2-3 runs a game, while a fantasy NBA would probably be 250+ points per game.
Vern Gagne Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 A coach on the court and floor general. Scotty Brooks.
razazteca Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 The league leader in scoring and the man that lived under a bridge as a bum.....Bob Love of the Chicago Bulls!
AboveAverage484 Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 Joe Wolf. Actually this isn't a bad idea, I'd do it.
Crimson Platypus Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 I'd do it too. But only draft white players just to see how poorly they would do.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 In order to pull something like this off, you need two things. 1. A system capable of producing a simulation and deciding a winner. 2. An impartial way of importing players into that simulation. Number two is a necessity, because otherwise, the result will be decided purely by the person creating the players and their attributes.
Jorge Gorgeous Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 My 2nd pick is gonna be Cherokee Parks.
Guest LooneyTune Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 I think the joke is dead, so I'll kill it for good by picking Jorge Gonzales for my 2nd pick.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 And while we're at it, dibs on Manute Bol.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted April 29, 2005 Author Report Posted April 29, 2005 Yah I probably won't be doing this. I was thinking just a draft and vote or something, I don't have the time for a full simulation and whatnot. And my first pick is the great Bryan "BIG COUNTRY" Reeves.
AboveAverage484 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 And while we're at it, dibs on Manute Bol. Hey Manute Bol's a great guy, he's met with some bad luck recently. He got in a car crash and now he doesn't know if they'll have to amputate his hand or not.

Besides being a great guy, he's fun, supports his cause, and can shoot the three.
The Electrifyer Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I select Chicago mascot, Benny the Bull.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I'll take John Chaney so he'll send his players out to hurt the other team and I'll win by default...
