Family Guy for 5/8/05

Recommended Posts

I'm normally not a fan of Family Guy, but I found last night's episode to be pretty funny ... funnier than last week's, which seemingly places me in the minority on TSM.

I didn't bother to watch AD ... 90 minutes of animation was more than enough for one sitting.

You can't do that on television, Stewies blood vessel, Stewie yelling out the window, the Robot and "What ever lets you sleep at night, bitch." Made me LOL2005.

And I like when they mention brian doing regular dog things to, well...remind you he is a dog. like last weeks but slide on the carpet and this weeks "That was a gift you bastard...a gift for the family".

The Robot thing wasn't as funny because it just reminded me of the Geico commercial where the gecko and the CEO do the Robot, but this wasn't necessarily mocking the commercial itself.

Stewies face was hilarious. Thats what sold me on the robot. And the fact that he just kept doing it when Brian started talking again.

Brian teaching the bad students was hilarious. I actually work with a white guy name Tim that is 28 years old and is a stoner. That triped me out about that bit.

I hated last weeks episode. Probably because Family Guy is more like what the new Simpsons are trying to be, except better, and they did not execute that well (last week).

This week was much better IMO; the bear in my oatmeal bit was hilarious.

anyone else think the funniest bit was "Donnie and Marie in bed"? I see it wasnt mentioned.

Also mention to Chris yelling watch out for the stairs to the new teach, you think thats supposed to be the joke, that chris is dumb, THEN SHE ACTUALLY TRIPS AND YOU HEAR FALLIND DOWN STEPS SOUND FX. That was cool IMO>

I don't have that problem, but I usually end up zoning American Dad out after a few minutes.

Is the Kelsey Grammer Sketch Show already finished?

IS it? I kinda liked it after watching like 2 eps of it.

the rapid fire style of skectches kept me alert. and it was soemthing....yknow fresh in today's TV world where everything is copied 10X

The ratings for this week was 5.5. That's still a higher rating than the show has ever had, but a drop off of more than 50% from last week has to be a disappointment to everyone involved.

Zap2It has the ratings going from a 6.3 / 9 to a 5.5 / 8.

They measure things a bit different, though, as it goes by percentage of households rather than a raw number if I remember correctly.

Awesome ending, plus Peter vs. Chicken round 2 was great.

Didn't like the "Scrubs" diss though.

The Star Wars parody was just about perfect.

The fact that they got the actual music and did the end credits in bright blue was the cherry on top.

Family Guy was great, and BOTH of the Simpsons episodes were instant classics as far as I'm concerned.

-"Spank me with little boy picture!"

-The guy's eyes in that workshop getting huge and the crying.

-"Shut Up Flanders."

-Flanders- "Come on kids, we're moving back to Springfield."

-The oldest kid- "But dad, I have a girlfriend."

-Flanders- "Well now you have a penpal!"

-The oldest kid- "YAY!!!"

And those were just from the first of the two episodes.

The "Dave Chappelle Freak-Out Tent" on American Dad was great. I'd say that was my favorite episode of that show so far. Tonight's lineup was a lot better than last weeks.

Wow that was a great episode

"Bonnie, you've ben pregnant for like 6 years now, either have the kid or don't"

The ending just got my more hyped for Episode III

I loved the Who reference in the show, plus after the chicken fight, Peter goes right back to what he was saying without missing a beat.

That "Raiders of the Lost Ark" homage was also great.

Two George Lucas parodies in one night? Damn.

I'm surprised that no one on this board has commented on the Arrested Development reference on American Dad.

The son doing George Micheal's "getting rejected by a girl" sad walk home.
