Mik 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Can any Dodgers fans tell me approximately what year Vin Scully died and was replaced by a robot? He's such a great announcer, but MY GOD, his voice sounds robotic and he shows no emotion whatsoever calling the games.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Orioles won again. 10 unanswered runs after Ponson got roughed up and they were down 8-2, they went on to win 12-8. Roberts, Palmeiro, Gibbons and Fassano hit HRs Bullpen worked all but the first 1 2/3 innings.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 With no help from your pitching. As the Yankees learned last year, you'll need pitching eventually. Well, the bullpen did go 7 1/3 innings only giving up 1 run. Ponson had had 5 straight good starts (5-0) so he was due to blow up.

fairtoflair7 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 MR. Matsui just won a few more Met fans back tonight after his clutch game winning homer in the bottom of the 7th. Hopefully he'll get his confidence back up. Tommorrow Glavine is pitching so maybe he can make it 2 in a row for himself and 3 in a row for the Mets in general before George's boyz come into Shea. I'm looking to take 2 of 3 from them.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Khalil Greene singles on a line drive to left fielder Brian Jordan. Brian Giles scores. Ramon Hernandez to 3rd. Sean Burroughs to 2nd. Hey Al- what's wrong with Kolb?
Guest Smues Report post Posted May 18, 2005 basehit and we lose again. A loss tommorow means Atlanta gets swept in a series for the first time since early september 03. Come on Atlanta, let the meaningless streak continue!
Guest Smues Report post Posted May 18, 2005 My theory on Kolb is he's been with the Brewers with basically no pressure on him, now he's in a high pressure situation and can't handle it, or hasn't adapted to it. Either that or he just sucks and it was masked with the Brewers. (well, somewhat masked, since everyone was pointing to his low strikeout rate)
KingPK 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 And Hatteberg makes another error, maybe fucking the A's over since the bases are still loaded.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 So, does Joe Torre get as much flak as Baker for letting Pavano go the distance and throw a 133-pitch CG shutout?
mike546 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Oh, now your comparing them. After I get bashed for saying the same thing a week ago. Seriously though, it was a stress free 133 pitches. He completley dominated the entire game, it was just the 9th where he had trouble.
Guest OSIcon Report post Posted May 18, 2005 With no help from your pitching. As the Yankees learned last year, you'll need pitching eventually. The starting pitching has generally been good. Bedard has had one bad start out of eight when he let up 8 runs to Detroit in April. He hasn't allowed more than 2 earned runs in any of his other seven starts. Bruce Chen has a 3.38 ERA and again, has only had one bad start (5 runs agaisnt Boston). The other three (Lopez, Cabrera, and Ponson) have been really good at least a few times on the season, though they *do* need to be more consistent. At most, they've only had three games at most where they had to out-slug their opponent after a bad starting pitching performance in order to win. The starting pitching on days they win has generally been good. The starting pitching has even been good on a bunch of games they've lost. It is a big question mark if it will hold up, but based on the season so far, it is unfair to classify the O's as a team with no pitching and all hitting. The bullpen has also been really good. They do need to try and make a deal around the All-Star break for a starting pitcher if they are still in the race.

He completley dominated the entire game, it was just the 9th where he had trouble. Who defended Baker for letting Zambrano throw that many pitches? I thought it was idiotic even though I saw why he did it. And Zambrano cruised in that game until the ninth when he let the leadoff man get on.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Hey Al- what's wrong with Kolb? Let's see.... http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...dpost&p=1808439 "Dan Kolb earned the "proven closer" tag, despite a non-existant K rate, and a 4.88 Post All-Star break ERA. The Brewers did well to trade Kolb while his value was high." -Me, March
