Undertaker (3-disc), HHH (3-disc), Ladder Matches

Recommended Posts

Here's an interesting question,

Would there be any WCW HHH matches on his DVD? It'd be nice to include one match on the DVD from WCW for both men actually. The Undertaker's days as Mean Mark Callous in WCW were pretty decent. I liked his tag team work in the The Skyscrapers.

I imagine we'll get a few Terra Ryzing matches on there. It'll be quite the sight watching Hunter grow, both physically and in the ring.

And for no reason, a reminder of rule #1:

1) If you don't have anything to contribute to a thread, don't post in

it.

I'd be interested to see Vince McMahon try to persue the owners of the USWA/WCCW footage in order to put the first Austin/Taker match on DVD. That match was back in 1989 when Austin was a rookie and Taker was under a mask as "The Punisher" with Skandor Akbar at his side.

The only way that we'd see HHH/Warrior would be Triple H and Vince changing history to say that the match happened AFTER the Curtain Call incident in order to make Hunter look stronger for overcoming all of that. Otherwise, I'd say that the match has no chance in hell of ever resurfacing.

Most HHH matches worth watching are already on DVD, so giving him a 3-Disk set is pointless.  Do we really need another copy of the MSG Street Fight?

They might use the No Way Out HIAC retirement match instead, which isn't on any DVD, as far as I know.

Maybe they'd also include the Judgment Day Ironman match with the Rock. It would eat up an hour, but they didn't have any problem with including the entire RR 92 for the Flair DVD.

I still wouldn't buy it, though. Once again, giving him three discs is just another cheap way of trying to put HHH on par with Flair. I hope whatever they dish out for HHH sells poorly.

WWE did try to pursue the World Class tapes, but were unable to come to terms with Kevin Von Eric. As far as I know, all Mid-South and USWA footage is under the control of Jerry Jarrett, so it's unlikely we'll ever see any of that anytime soon.

What will be on the Best of Ladder Matches set?  Will it have any matches WCW or ECW?  Or will be it nothing but TLC and HBK matches?

ECW has done Ladder matches before but im not versed in ECW History.

Im not sure if they own the footage to the REAL first ladder match in recorded history(Bret Hart Vs Bad News Allen in Stampede) or if they would even admit they didnt create the gimmick.

You lie.

There is no way tou did that off the top of your head, especially with the dates. If you did, please go get laid.

I'll admit that I looked up the dates for the Raw matches. the rest? all in my head.

That match listing doesn't appeal to me at all, except for the Ground Zero match and maybe the First Blood match vs. Stone Cold. Except all of the first disc, almost everything else has already been on DVD. I'd have liked to see some RAW or SD! matches in addition to all the PPV ones. I wasn't inclined on buying this one when I heard of it, and my opinion hasn't changed now that I know the matches included.

Very disappointing match list for Taker. Nothing really rare outside of maybe vs. Austin from Fully Loaded 99 or vs. HBK from Ground Zero. But at least they got THREE Kane matches on there, along with that classic match vs. The Rock from KOTR 99!

I just wanted the One Night Only match and vs. Angle from Smackdown in September 03.

There's no way they'd have three Kane matches on there. The XIV and XX matches for historical reasons, but not a third.

Since I'm usually not on top of DVD releases, is Silvervision generally reliable on early details?

Good list. I was expecting the spirit of the Undertaker speech on there, the ONO match with Bret Hart, Casket match with HBK, and the Smackdown match with Austin. Add that and this DVD would have been perfect.

Disk 2

- Undertaker breaks into Paul Bearer's house and mauls him

LOL, I still love that segment. He hated Paul so much, he broke into the man's house to whoop his ass.

Disk 1

Royal Rumble 1994 vs. Yokozuna

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see that Yoko/UT match for the first time for real. I remember listening with extreme excitement to all the post-match stuff when I was 10 while trying to "watch" the PPV through the squiggles.

They're usually right on track. Therefore, I'm extremely disappointed with the Undertaker set, I was at least hoping for a couple of "Mean Mark" matches from WCW, but all we're getting is PPV match retreads. I guess, though, with a title like "History of the Undertaker" that we're not going to get anything pre-Undertaker. Silly me.

In Your House Revenge of Taker vs. Mankind

Fully Loaded 1999 - First Blood Match vs. Stone Cold

These were the first two ppvs I ever went to, so I'll prolly pick this DVD up at least for the reason of owning them in DVD quality. There's some other stuff that looks good too.

That is a very weak match list for Taker. I was actually hoping to see more 'early' Taker stuff, and alot of those matches are stinkers. The extras don't seem like much at all either.

I don't think Hulk Still Rules is the ultimate Hulk collection. It seems like they rushed it so they could get it out while Hulk was still wrestling. Down the line, I think they'll do a real 3 disc ultimate Hulk collection.

I think theirs room for a Ultimate Flair volume 2. They didn't really touch on the 90's and even left some stuff out from the 80's.

Bill Watts' wife controls the Mid-South footage via a divorce suit settlement. I do know that a DVD set for Austin and Foley were released for $2.50 each using the WCCW footage. Kevin Von Erich could make a lot more money out of the deal if he sold the footage to Vince or actually found a good distributor so that he could get a better price for the DVDs. Does Kevin Von Erich own the footage for the USWA Dallas portion of the USWA? Or does Jarrett own USWA Dallas footage as well?

The Good:

v. Hogan (Survivor Series 1991)

v. Bret (Summerslam 1997)

v. Rock (KOTR 1999) - never seen it.

v. Austin (Fully Loaded 1999) - never seen it.

everything else on Disc 1.

The Bad:

v. Kane (EVERYTHING).

v. Hogan (Judgment Day 2002)

I'll pick it up.

Since I'm usually not on top of DVD releases, is Silvervision generally reliable on early details?

What you see is what you will get. It's all there, except for the easter eggs.

I am so getting the Taker set, especially if it has the Angle SD match and some Cena matches.

Edit: Fuck, I guess I should have payed more attention to people's posts.

Well Thank God the Hell in a Cell matches are included on here. I'm sure precious few of us have ever had a chance to see the Michaels and Mankind ones and it's great of the WWE to lift the embargo and finally release these on DVD. Fuckers.

I only hope they do as good a job on the Triple-H DVD.
