bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 you know, i have no problem with a low scoring defensive slugfest, but i still couldnt help laughing when i switched it on with 11 minutes left in the 4th and the score liks like 53 to 51, becuase i know people will bitch, and it amuses me greatly to see people bitching about defense
Adam 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 I love those "The City" jerseys, so I'd probably go with that one... the Prince would be a good choice too. Yeah, I've always thought the 'The City' jerseys were awesome. NBA Jerseys are very scarce where I am, I have probably only seen 3 or 4 people wearing them. I don't mind the low scoring at the moment at all, because both teams are trying their asses off to shut down the other. It's a real arm wrestle, and if the Detroit frontcourt can just get into the game, it could be close very quickly. Nazr and Duncan are killing the Wallaces inside. Maybe I'm starting to really get into basketball more than I thought to be entertained by this. At the onset of the game I started thinking that the Spurs really feel like the more complete team, and while they got down early, they turned it up a notch in the 4th. Detroit is going to have to see the enormous challenge that's facing them right now. The Heat this year are just slightly better than last year's Lakers (more depth on the Heat), and they went 7 games, so I don't know how ugly this is going to get with the Spurs being a much better team than the Heat. They just about equal offensively and on the bench, but defensively are much better and they definitely have the playoff experience to take out Detroit. Not to mention the team won't implode in the face of adversity like the Kobe-Shaq-Jackson Lakers often did the past two years.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 So if you had to give the Finals MVP based off of that first game who would you give it to? Would it be Duncan for keeping the Spurs alive in the first quarter or Ginobli for basically pulling a knife and stabbing the Pistons to death in the 4th? razazteca 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 Give it to GINOBILI for scoring 22 points in the second half, the Ben Wallace anti-flop + tech foul, and getting Prince in foul trouble early in the game.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 Oops. I didn't spell his name right. Freak out why don't ya? Anyways did anyone hear that story about parents naming their kids after him? After he hit that big 3 in the 4th that pretty much iced it the announcers started laughing and Al said "I think about 10 more children were just named Ginobili." He's really becoming something special I think.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 Ratings down 24%. Anyone suprised? Didn't think so. I blame the Spurs.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 Oops. I didn't spell his name right. Freak out why don't ya? Whenever the name is mention it should be done in Charles Barkley font. He's really becoming something special I think. Obi Won Ginobili uses the force for good. Ratings down 24%. You should of paraphrased Dave Metzler with the "ratings are down a disappointing..." Anyone suprised? I hate LA
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2005 I was disgusted when the Pistons gooned Wade because I knew I'd be doomed to this garbage. Look, I'm not saying that defensive shitfests have no place in basketball, but that stuff is more appropriate on ESPN Wed. Night college games with Cincy or Pitt. Here's the thing. When I first watched the NBA it was games like Lakers/Celtics and it seemed like everyone was over 100 a game. That's how I knew the major difference: these guys were pros and could really, really SCORE. There is absolutely no excuse for an NBA title caliber team to put up 69 points in a FINALS game. That's garbage and it is not basketball. It isn't the Spurs' fault really, I know they can play very high quality games from the Sun series.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 11, 2005 So let's blame the Pistons and their total inability to score, then. I hate LA What does this have anything to do with it? Oh, and Fuck Texas.

You act like The Pistons did something horribly wrong. "We're sorry America for doing our job and trying to win! We should've laid down and given you the Heat! We're sorry for being assholes!" Seriously this shit is getting absurd.
Kismet 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2005 Defense I guess equals goonery. Though as many times as Wade did a stop-jump forward into someone guarding him it evens out. And if it were true goonery his ass woulda never made it back in for game 7. As it was, good solid series. Detroit was definetly helped by a hurt Wade, but as it is, Detroit moved on and Miami has about two more years in the current window with Shaq to win it all. Now can we get back to the Spurs and Pistons?

razazteca 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2005 GINOBILI & Horry can score and flop at the same time......Wallace can get rebounds and blocks, but nothing else. Ben + Sheed = 11 point Nazr Muhammond = 10 points
Fökai 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2005 I don't understand why teams can't play hard defense, and not score points has well? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hell, the entire first quarter of Game One shouldn't be attributed to great defense - it should be because of the terrible shots everyone was taking. The game started out like a preseason game.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2005 They are playing the Undertakers theme music for the Pistons....either the team are huge wrestling fans or the Spurs PA is a smark.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2005 I was disgusted when the Pistons gooned Wade because I knew I'd be doomed to this garbage. Yeah, since Dwayne Wade himself said he got injured in a freak move while he was doing a crossover move to a jump shot. I guess the Pistons have voodoo powers which make people injured without even touching them. mystical gooning!!!! Hey maybe that's why the Undertaker music was playing during the pistons' introduction, they're doing the "shooting magic electricity bolts" at dwayne wade without touching them!
