The original Command & Conquer is availlable for free download here. I suggest you wait a week or two unless you like downloading two 500+ Mb files @ 2 kb/second

Red Alert was the best game out of the series.

Has anyone here bought Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 for PS2? I've heard that the game is very glitchy so I'm hesitant to lay down the money to buy it. I haven't bought a Tiger Woods game since '04 but since this has the addition of the FedEx Cup I'm a little interested.

What's so good Tiger Woods '04? The only reason I ask is because when I used to work at Gamestop, of all the Tiger Woods games, we couldn't keep '04 in stock. Is it the end all, be all of the series, similar to what NFL 2K5 did for football?

I'm not sure. I purchased '04 back in the day because I got tired of playing my '02 game and have never bothered to buy another edition for it. Maybe people like the career mode where you can play multiple seasons or something (although I'm not sure if other Tiger Woods golf games have precluded this in the future because I've never played them). Maybe people also didn't find anything attractive about the other releases of the franchise because golfing games really don't change except for the course selection.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the Tiger Woods franchise, especially with the custom courses the game produces which make playing very frustrating. What would really by awesome is a game that had 70+ golfers from the PGA Tour and you could have a franchise mode type of game with a golfer you create or choose to play as. They could add in tons of tour courses and try to make the season schedule as realistic as possible with a world rankings list, FedEx Cup stuff, etc. Hell, if they would ever throw in the Ryder Cup/Presidents Cup and the Accenture Match Play that'd make for a helluva game.

The best golf game I ever played was PGA Championship Golf 2000 for the PC by Sierra Sports. You could set up your own tour in that game and could download courses like Augusta National, TPC at Sawgrass, etc., create golfers, and play with multiple modes. However, that was the last installment of the series because Sierra's people just started working on Tiger Woods all the time. Disappointing.

The Tiger Woods games have had Ryder Cup/President's Cup events for the last two years. Custom courses are also supported, as are the courses from previous games. Actually, everything listed from PGA 2000 is in the Tiger Woods games, outside of custom tours, which I believe was included in one or two installments of the game.

I'm not sure what was special about Tiger Woods 2004. I'm pretty sure it was 2005 that changed the engine, toughened the game up a bit, and added new commentary; while the two installments that followed were more or less the same as 2005. But I could be a year ahead, I don't know.

I just want to know if 08 has a career mode or not. It's kinda worthless to me if you don't get to play multiple seasons with your character.

I had no idea the Ryder/Prez Cups were in recent games. Then again, I haven't even touched Tiger Woods golf since 04 so I haven't had much incentive to follow along with the developments.

The 08 courses look pretty nice, though. It's really awesome they got all the FedEx Cup courses into the game.

2008 has a multiple season career mode, yes. One thing I should mention is that I play the game on PC, which tends to have a fair amount of differences with the console version of the game. I really don't know what the console versions are like.

hey recommend me some good, non-Sonic, Genesis games. I realized that I never play my Genesis emulator because I can't think of too many decent games to download. I have all the Streets of Rage games, Golden Axe games, Ghouls n Ghosts amongst others, but I'm kinda stuck right now. Thanks!

NBA Live 95 is the greatest basketball game ever. Well...that or coach K college hoops.

Maximum Carnage is a pretty cool Spiderman game where you get to play as Spidey and Venom teaming up against Carnage. It also features Cloak and Dagger, the interracial porn couple of comic books so yeah.

You can always grab an NBA Jam or two

And of course, Eternal Champions.

Beavis and Butthead did rule.

Insanely difficult and annoying at some points, but once you figure it out, its a blast.

If you like side-scrolling shooters, get Gunstar Heroes.

I've been playing Persona 3 as of late and I think it's a decent RPG. I heard Megaten games were crazy hard, but this has been a cakewalk for me so far except for a few boss battles.

Shining Force II

Beavis & Butthead (seriously)

Both Shining Force games are really good. But, you need patience to level up. It's worth it, though, cause by the later levels you can just run through everyone without much of a problem.

I'll second Gunstar Heroes. That one's a hell of a lot of fun.

I recently replayed and beat the first Shining Force. I like the game, but it gets old waiting for the computer to cycle through all of its movements. I'll admit, back in 93 or 94 or whenever it came out, I never gave it a fair shake and that was a mistake.

The Genesis version of Beavis and Butthead was a darn oddity. Here you have these two slacker cartoons aimed at and primarily watched by teens and young adults, mainly slacker sorts, and then that game was a graphic adventure, heavy on puzzle elements.

Ironically, it did that far better than the action elements. The combat and (very rare) platforming sections were pretty bad, while the rest was darn good for a console title. It wasn't possible to get "stuck" (no possible solution because you missed an item earlier) I don't think, either.

Although if you watched B&B early on, most of the puzzles are directly based on season 2 episodes, and they're pretty easy then.

Ranger X is a really good, fun little shooter. While the control isn't quite as good, I also really like Trouble Shooter (it's actually a Dirty Pair game, sans license).

X-Men 2 Clone Wars is a blast. Way more fun and playable than the original X-Men, though that isn't a bad game either. Much easier, though.

Robocop vs. Terminator--fun n' quite violent game where you annihilate the crap out of a lot of baddies. Starts easy, but difficulty ramps up quickly.

Mega Turrican: Think of a Samus-like character in a more Contra-ish action game. Great looking title, very good music, and tons of great moves and weapons are at your disposal.

El Viento...you play as what appears to be some sort of ninja-chick in a 1930's/sci-fi version of Chicago, battling gangsters and giant robots and stuff like that.

Since the game is so ridiculously obscure, I'd like to show you the only gameplay footage I've seen on the net (it's a tool-assisted speedrun, so bear in mind it's just to get an idea)--

.

Crusader of Centy and Beyond Oasis are both good little Zelda clones, but I think of Centy as kind of "meh" while Beyond Oasis really shines in comparison (well, except for the rather lousy music).

I stopped liking Final Fantasy after 3/6 but I recently picked up Tactics for the GBA and it's a pretty fun little RPG that's mainly mission based but also has an overall storyline that advances along the way.

GBA has Advance Wars 1 & 2, Tactics Ogre, the two Fire Emblem games, Final Fantasy V & VI (plus FFIV which isn't very good, and it's being remade for the DS anyway), the Golden Sun games and random stuff like Lufia, Lunar and Tales of Phantasia.

Golden Sun rocks it, hard. So, I downloaded Fatal Fury Special on XBox Live Arcade. Um...it sucks? I pose it as a question, because I remember being pretty good. Opinions?

There are lots of games that people remember as being good but really aren't. How else could people claim that Final Fantasy I-VI are the best in the series, or that Chrono Trigger is actually an elite RPG? But yea, it's good to replay those old nostalgic games just to have a realistic picture on how they currently stand up to modern games. Which is usually poorly, but it's better than living in a dream world.

FYI guys, I'm selling off a couple of my old systems + games on eBay...

PSX: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=250162621258

N64: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=250162637715

I still have my SNES and I don't think I'll ever part with that as it's my favourite system of all time. ;) Otherwise, I never touch the PSX anymore and the N64.. well I tried to get into playing some of my old games but I just don't have the interest in them that I thought I would. Not even No Mercy.

I don't know what the standard prices are for this kind of stuff so I just set the opening bid at what I thought was fair. *shrug*

This has to be a joke post.
