HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 ...So why spend the money on these games? I'm also assuming you are buying most of these at launch for full retail value?
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Virgin Megastore is probably out of business right now but last week I picked up GTA IV and WWE SDvRAW 2009 together for $60. I wish they would have marked the games down further but I'm happy with them.
Matt Young Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 ...So why spend the money on these games? I'm also assuming you are buying most of these at launch for full retail value? Â Nah. Cheap Ass Gamer, man. I hardly ever pay full price. Plus I play them all. It's just that some get less play time than others.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Virgin Megastore is probably out of business right now but last week I picked up GTA IV and WWE SDvRAW 2009 together for $60. I wish they would have marked the games down further but I'm happy with them. Â Hmm thats interesting to note, that its still called Virgin Megastore over in the States. In 2006 or so, Sir Richard Branson sold the stores off and they were rebranded as Zavvi.
Psycho Penguin Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 I've started Shadow Hearts: From the New World after playing the first two in the series, and wow, as incredible as those two were, this one just seems a little... off so far.
Scroby Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 According to Gamespot.com, Resident Evil 5 will have a demo out on XBL on Jan. 26th and then the demo will release for the PS3 a week later. I'm really looking forward to it.
Guest Smues Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Awesome. I look forward to downloading it so I can kill a bunch of white people in Africa.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Awesome. I look forward to downloading it so I can kill a bunch of white people in Africa. Â You don't need a game to do that, just join the local political party in Africa.
muzz Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Ugh, I don't want to wait until April 2010 for FF XIII.
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Aye, I was reading about that yesterday. It MIGHT be out in Japan on the PS3 this year, but they promised they wouldn't release it elsewhere until the JAP PS3 version was complete.
Boner Kawanger Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 I don't know where to put this, so here goes Â
Matt Young Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 ...is that Flair?  http://pc.ign.com/articles/948/948366p1.html  Flair plays Commander Hill, a military officer in the Global Defense Initiative
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 So glad I've got a job again, I'll get paid end of Feb just in time to pick up Street Fighter and Resident Evil <3 Hell, I was even thinking of selling the xbox and the games to cover bills and rent! WHAT WAS I THINKING, I BETRAYED MY LOVE! Well, you get the picture - fucking credit crunch.
Boner Kawanger Posted January 28, 2009 Report Posted January 28, 2009 In the next Mario & Luigi RPG on the DS, not only do you control the Mario Bros AND Bowser at the same time, but Mario and Luigi are inside Bowser. Fantastic Voyage style, not like fan fiction style. Â http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44848.html
Youth N Asia Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Dug out the PS1 this week and put 5 hours into Castlevania Symphony of the Night already...great damn game

Fantastic Voyage style, not like fan fiction style. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44848.html Hmm. Seems interesting, though I wonder how well the Touch-Screen added attack powers will play out during the game.  Some people I knew 8 years ago or so would probably use this to try to make a "Science of Mario's World" site.
Boner Kawanger Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 I played the original GBA game but haven't played the sequel with the babies. Did it use the touch screen like that?
haws bah gawd Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Dug out the PS1 this week and put 5 hours into Castlevania Symphony of the Night already...great damn game  5 Hours well spent! That's a fucking classic if there ever was one. You should try it on a PS3 with the 1080p update if you get the chance.
Youth N Asia Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Finished it up today with 197%...still a little more to do if I just wanna up my items and whatnot. 10 hours total. Awesome damn game. I play it through every couple of years  Portrait of Ruin for the DS was pretty amazing as well
Matt Young Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I got that game on Live Arcade, but I have no idea where to go or what to do.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 You just have to explore the castle and defeat the bosses. I've used GameFAQS to help me and I haven't finished it yet. Still two bosses left to go.
Matt Young Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Problem is, I always run into some impassable area, whether it be a barrier or an unbeatable foe.
Black Lushus Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 SOTN is all about backtracking, Matt...you get stuck, refer to your map and go back to a previous location.
Matt Young Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Backtracking: one of the worst gameplay devices ever devised.
ChrisMWaters Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Backtracking: one of the worst gameplay devices ever devised. Works in the Metroid series.
fazzle Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 I never played enough of SOTN to fully form an opinion on it, but I've always fucking *despised* the Metroid series, partially because of the backtracking
Black Lushus Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Backtracking: one of the worst gameplay devices ever devised. Â Millions of Metroid fans are now telling you to STFU!
El Psycho Diablo Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Backtracking isn't as bad as the Random Encounter, or my personal (least) favorite, press X to not die/Quick Time Events.
