MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Cabrera just needs 1 more out to get this game official with all the rain..but I think we're headed to a rain delay and hence the game won't count.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Whoohoo! Picked off Nixon at 2nd with the bases loaded to end the inning! The game is official with the Os leading 2-1!
KingPK Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Wow, Nixon must feel like a total moron right about now. Ah well, still three more games in the series.
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 The best the Phillies can do is split w/ the Pirates? And get 4-hit twice? Ugh.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 The best the Phillies can do is split w/ the Pirates? And get 4-hit twice? Ugh. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, with the team missing their regular first baseman and shortstop, they are short-handed right now. Ryan Howard needs time to adjust to major league pitching.
Mik Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 The Cubs have apparently sent Corey Patterson to AAA.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 And Jason Dubois, too. I'm torn. Patterson wasn't getting things together, but I don't think they should just get rid of him. I heard the guy they're bringing up has about the same OBP as Patterson. Not good.
Bored Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 No official confirmation yet but Jay Payton has been traded to the A's for Chad Bradford. Bradford is currently on the DL so that's why the trade isn't official. He was going to be activated after the All-Star break. I don't expect Payton's stay to be long with the A's unless they trade Eric Byrnes. All Mark Kotsay rumors are pretty much dead and an extension is expected to be signed soon.
the max Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Almost an Orioles injury scare, as it appeared that Brian Roberts rolled his ankle over. He's fine and Ponson gets out of a bases loaded jam with only one run allowed, getting Manny "Pure Power" Ramirez to pop-out. 2-0 Sox.
Guest Fishyswa Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Giambi's still en-fuego. Another week of this and we'll be on top of the world.....well AL East.
KingPK Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 The Red Sox FINALLY capitalize with the bases loaded after twice only getting one run. 5-1 in the 6th.
devo Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 God damn it. After not giving up a single run in Washington, the Mets' bullpen implodes in the bottom of the ninth, giving up four runs to the pirates. 5-5 going into the tenth. The most annoying part of this is that Zambrano had the best start of the year, giving up only one run over eight innings. Another example of Mets' starters having great performances and not getting wins out of it.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 There is no limit to my hatred of Braden Looper. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My hatred for Sidney Ponson > your hatred for Looper. I think Im to the point where I wont even bother watching/listening to the games he pitches because he sucks so much. And now the Os are in 3rd place, and really close to being in 4th place. Yeehaw. Damnit, its still a good month before football gets going (preseason games anwyay..).
Bored Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 A's have signed Mark Kotsay to a two-year, $15 million extension.
MikeJordan23 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Game Break during Fox's RedSox/Orioles game: Reports that Roy Halladay may be out a month, and will miss the all-star game.
CanadianChris Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Roy Halladay is out for a month, possibly more, after getting hit in the leg with a line drive last night. FUCK.
Jericholic82 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Welcome to the AL All Star team Matt Clement <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yea, no favoritism by Terry in that choice right? lol But I'm not that mad, and I wish The Yankees had a pitcher like Clement right now (great move Boss in getting Pavano andf Wright )
Jericholic82 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Yea this May guy is a great pitcher YIKES. Cashman get on the phone and make a freakin deal (but who? i dont know).
Guest Brian Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Hafner hit an RBI double. He's hitting .313 with 18 HRs and 59 RBI, as well as a 1.006 OPS.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Clement probably deserved to go last season. But since so much stock goes into W-L, he didn't have a chance.
Fuzzy Dunlop Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 Since Clement will have the most rest, he's Terry's guy, and reportedly he was upset by not being chosen by Terry initially, does anyone think Clement could start this game? That would make five Red Sox starters.
KingPK Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 It'll definitely be Garland now. Buehrle will probably go after him and then Clement.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 Clement was the next deserving starter, regardless of team affiliation.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 Buehrle should start ahead of Garland, should it be a White Sox pitcher starting.
devo Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 Sure is cool how the Mets gave up eleven runs to one of the worst offensive teams in the majors. The bullpen's regressed back to being maddeningly inconsistent.
