DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2005 Haven't tried them in this game, but I know in SYM you were able to reverse a toe kick into an Ankle Lock with Angle, or block a punch/clothesline into a Crossface with Benoit. I always thought that was pretty neat. Once when I was Angle and had a stored finisher I was prompted to press L1 when I blocked a kick. I didn't notice it immediatley so I didn't do it, but that leads me to believe it can be done.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2005 Does anyone know what the criteria is for unlocking all the movesets? I've got the first one. Win ten matches as a CAW and unlock all the Legends.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2005 (edited) You know, I really like this game...REALLY...but damn it I REALLYFUCKINGHATE this game! The referee annoys the hell outta me by always getting in my way--I can't tell you how many times I've been DQ'd because the ref randomly walks in the way of one of my moves (the other day it happened in like 3 matches back to back). The dumb thing about it it is that a couple of times I've outright attacked the ref intentionally (I'm talking suplexes and stuff like that) and not been DQ'd, but when he happens to walk in the path of my chop then the match is over. Stupid ass game. I also hate the restrictions they place on the divas. I tried booking something as simple as a 6-woman tag match and the damn game wouldn't let me. And while I'm on 6 man matches, I hate how when you're making a pin or whatever, you can apparently only call one of your partners in for the save while the computer can have both guys run in (unless there's something I'm missing). And I STILL haven't been able to get outta that damn sleeper. Edited December 14, 2005 by Papacita

You could do it in HTCP as well, so I'm pretty sure it's still doable here.
Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2005 I use a roaring elbow to spin them around 360 and then put them away with my Dragon Whip. Simple, effective, and surprisingly not countered too often.

I still don't get the logic on Yukes restricting divas from most of the match types, especially since 6-woman tag matches have happened on Raw quite frequently over the past few years. Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2005 So what setup moves does everybody use for their finisher. I like to use the stinger splash in the corner for Shelton Benjamin. For wresters I like to use the spider suplex off the top turnbuckle. The move is done so once it is completed your wrestler is still on the top rope. If you time it perfectly the move gives you full momentum and you are perfectly setup to do your finisher. Too bad their is the top rope finishing move glitch. The spider suplex works around it nicely. Good old fashioned Toe Kick 1 works for me. No need to get fancy, especially in this game. Yeah but you cant do a toe kick if you want to do a five star frog splash or a moonsault in this game. Plus it makes for a great finish if you whip the guy into the corner, give them the stinger splash and when the turn around all groggy you hit them with your finishing move. True. You need to make sure your opponent is laid out if you're going to try for an aerial finisher, and even so, they have a tendency to pop up if you are not quick enough climbing the ropes. I usually use a top-rope rana or superplex to lay the guy out before going for an aerial finisher. Either that or the old whip to the corner and following pressing square trick. Guest Rrrsh Report post Posted December 15, 2005 1) Is there a great CW website for old school wrestlers like 80's Macho Man, WWF Ric Flair, Owen Hart...? 2) Is there any way to get in create-an-entrance Edge's old seizure-esque blinkking lights?
dubq 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2005 1) Is there a great CW website for old school wrestlers like 80's Macho Man, WWF Ric Flair, Owen Hart...? The only thing I can suggest is keeping an eye on www.caws.ws, as well as their Forums.
AntiLeaf33 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2005 Gotta say I'm loving the game. In my first season I had 2 brutal submisson matches pitting me Vs. Flair AND Benoit in 2 seperate submission matches. Both matches went over the 30 minute mark with me winning both matches with the other guys finisher. Awesome matches to play and awesome to watch, or so everyone in the room was telling me
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2005 I'm now convinced the GM mode is unwinnable. The rating a show gets seems to depend on how popular the gimmick match you do is, and the opposing show does at least 3 gimmick matches per episode. However, if you go to do a trade you'll notice that everyone's fatigue meter on their roster stays at zero every single week, no matter how many gimmick matches the wrestler has been in. Plus, if you look at their results, their cards have no rhyme or reason to them.
dubq 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2005 (edited) It's true. Though I have won once against the CPU in GM Mode, I think it was sheer luck. I find it much more fun to set up a 2P GM Mode and play both shows yourself, seeing if you can outbook yourself every week. That way, you don't have to rely on the constant use of gimmick matches. The only thing you have to watch out for are the wrestlers complaining if they lose all the time or do not receive title shots. Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 18, 2005 I won GM mode on the first try by auto-generating each card and simulating the results for each show. All I had to do was turn on a couple of legends and sign them to my roster.

CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2005 Can I get a review and the like of 2 player GM Mode? I'm pretty excited, but is there anything more to it than an EWR on ps2?
BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 I JUST got this game and I like it so far. But I just started the GM Mode thing, and I can't figure out how to defend my titles on my show (SD!). I have a couple of rivalries running but no titles?! little help?
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 I didn't know how to do that at first, either. Just book the match, and then press left or righton the d-pad, which will give you the option to make it a title match.

Da Maintenance Man 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2005 Just got this game yesterday & it's pretty good so far aside from the damn ref getting in the way all the time & not being able to hit ANY aerial finishers (they won't stay down!). That sleeper stuff is pretty annoying too, I'm still working on getting the timing right. Anybody here got any good sliders to use to get some good matches? I'm just toying around with the difficulty & the sliders & the match is either too easy or just a complete reversal-fest.
