The Mandarin Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 After watching last night, it is evident that Muhammad Hassan is a hypocritical, wannabe terrorist. But do you think that after six months of Hassan playing up that he was just like every other American that they'll try to go with this extremist character in an attempt to create even more offensive segments than the one last night for cheap heat? Or do you think the incident will be forgotten soon when the development of his character is overshadowed by his fear of the Undertaker (and we'll just have to assume that all Arab-Americans have terrorist ties). I think they're going with the latter, because while I do see Hassan going over at the PPV via underhanded tactics, I can't see them overshadowing a) Undertaker and b) the #1 contendership for the World Heavyweight Championship, with Mini-Hamas or whatever that shit was. Either way, it's Wrestlecrap.
Dangerous A Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Either way, it's Wrestlecrap. You've just summed up Hassan's entire WWE run in 4 words, my friend. Personally, the direction he needs to go is back to wrestling school to work on his in ring skills, or lack thereof. Take Cena with you while you're at it.
Jericholic82 Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I am assuiming that he did this simply as another FU to the fans, who he belives prejudge him already so why not give them what they want? otherwise he is contradicting his character. either way his chance for upward mobility died when Cena squashed him and clearly will be worsened when Taker squashes him at the Bash.
ANKLELOCK Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Hassan will win at the Bash, actually. Then he'll be squashed by Batista in DC at Summerslam.
Guest JMA Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Hopefully the "masked soldiers" never appear again. Does anyone really want to see Hassan run around with a bunch of nameless Jihadites?
Youth N Asia Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I didn't care for the angle on Smackdown. But I'd rather the Hassan character go more vicious and less bitchy.
RavishingRickRudo Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 Hassan should rape Sara Undertaker (on Camera, in a cave) and get her pregnant and claim her as his wife (one of his many wives) and have her go around wearing a burqa. She should then abort the baby using a clotheshanger and then he forces her into female circumcision (all on camera, of course, since it IS TV and it IS wrestling and everything is ok).
bobobrazil1984 Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 ^ Hey, handn't you heard!? "Well Buffy the Vampire Slayer had an attempted rape in one episode! and an episode of CSI had a baby aborted with a clotheshanger, where was your outrage then!!" Not to mention, "well I'm not offended by the content of the angle, I just hate that they used cheap heat in this angle." *snickers obnoxiously*
Dangerous A Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 RRR, you need to include some necrophilia for this angle so it can be complete.
RavishingRickRudo Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 I figured Hassan would eat the fetus, since it's a well known fact Arabs love the taste of unborn American baby. That's close to necrophilia, right?
Guest Fook_Theta Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Hah, with the way WWE/Stephanie has been booking feuds lately I could see Hassan claiming Sara as his bride.
RavishingRickRudo Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 And, somehow, he'll end up as a face.
Just John Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 I don't think we'll ever see "The Cell" back on SD. I'd rather he just tell everyone they were his white friends in masks, and then bash everyone for assuming they're terrorists because they hang with an Arab-American. That would kind of get his character back on track. I know I'll be in the minority, but I wouldn't mind if he kept those guys as bodyguards. Maybe not with the terrorist attire, but Hassan's "crusade" would be more believeable if he had some muscle. If he's going to get a title shot at Summer Slam, he needs to look like a threat who can hurt people instead of a whiny bitch that always cries about how he's being discriminated against.

As for muscle, look no further than Mr. Lesnar. I read somewhere I forget months back an idea of Brock coming back as Hassans bodyguard, doing all his dirty work, but never talking and looking sad/angry sometimes. Eventually it would be revealed that Hassan brought Brock back and owns his contract and therefore him, iafter you build up tension and some sympathy factor, Brock would have enough and destroy Hassan making him a face for the moment anyway. However I doubt this would ever happen.
Spaceman Spiff Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Making Brock subservient to Hassan would be incredibly retarded.
The Mandarin Posted July 9, 2005 Author Report Posted July 9, 2005 That would be a degrading role to give to Matt Morgan, let alone Brock Lesnar.
Da Maintenance Man Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Either way, it's Wrestlecrap. You've just summed up Hassan's entire WWE run in 4 words, my friend. Personally, the direction he needs to go is back to wrestling school to work on his in ring skills, or lack thereof. Due to the change of his gimmick/character over the years he just doesn't wrestle the same way he did in his debut against Angle (unfortunately). Basically, as long as Cena keeps getting constant pops then no changes are needed. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Guest Tjhe CyNick Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 I figure this is being done so Orton can pop out as one of the bodyguards at GAB and give Takert he RKO. That sets up Taker-Orton for Summerslam, and gives Hassan the win to face Batista at Summerslam. I actully like the bodyguards, gives Hassan more credibility as a top heel. I think they should keep them around, and I still enjoy Hassan as a character.

Makes me wanna order Great American Bash just to see if that actually happens.
cabbageboy Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 The saddest aspect of this entire thread is not so much Hassan might declare a jihad on Smackdown. It's the thought of them seriously giving a guy who sucks as much dick as he does a title shot on a major PPV like Summerslam.
Just John Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 At least you can take comfort in the fact that he won't win it. Unlike last year's similar adventure with Benoit and Orton.
SuperJerk Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Can we please just agree to disagree about whether or not the Hassan/terrorist incident was offensive, and unite behind the idea that it was just plain dumb?
Just John Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 I think whether you find the angle offensive or dumb is your opinion. No one should have to unite behind anything.
Team Angle Pusher Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Sad thing is Hassan is pure gold on the mic
Guest Nater Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Because it's so been done before, right? Do you want the same old gimmicks and booking crap or something new for a change? Oh yeah.. Hassan > JBL.
Guest KingofHarts Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 The Hassan thing was F*ed up from the start. He should have been a face. There is nothing he said in his original vignettes that was even remotely heel like. I blame Stephanie for not being able to come up with an origianl idea to save her worthless life. They just couldn't resist creating Iron Sheik 2000, complete with Camel Clutch. I wouldn't be surprised if next week he comes out with the Curled up boots and asks Dhavari to marry him, cause according to Steph thats what men want to see.
BruiserKC Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 RRR, you need to include some necrophilia for this angle so it can be complete. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps Katie Vick would be available again? On a serious note...up until last week Hassan's angle was one of the better ones that has been done IMHO in a long time. Lot of realism to the whole thing...but of course political correctness could ruin it. Much like the Un-American angle was. Maybe you can move away from the jihad part of it...but you have both the bitchy and vicious Hassan merge together. He could clearly get over as a heel if you add both together.
The C Man Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 You're all scaring me with your predictions of Hassan/Batista at Summerslam. I don't like train-wrecks.
