Still Waiting...

Recommended Posts

People who keep asking for Special Editions need to just be glad your fucking movies are even available at all.

All requests for Special Editions, box sets, and anamorphic widescreen transfers with 5.1 surround-sound need to be put on hold until the stop-motion animation masterpeice The Wizard of Speed and Time is finally available for DVD purchase!

You know what I REALLY want a DVD release of?

The Aeon Flux shorts and television show and.....

MTV Oddities presents: The MAXX

That show kicked ass, but I can't find it anywhere. They can throw in "The Head" too. But mostly The MAXX. I loved the comic and they did a incredible job translating that to the small screen.

Guest Miss Indy Queen
how about Roseanne? it was a big hit show youd think it would be available already.

Roseanne Season 1 is being released on August 30th.

I second the Swan's Crossing although I never really knew anyone that watched that show, plus I can't believe I missed the finale TWICE! I still haven't seen it.

I'll also throw 90210 into the mix and Melrose Place.

Just about every movie and television show ever produced have been released on DVD format, but there's some movies/shows we havent gotten  treatment or movies that were bare-bones and we are still waiting for proper treatment.

What are you still waiting for?

Batman (Adam West)

I doubt this will ever come out, sadly.

I found a couple of the Aeon Flux shorts last night. I have "Pilot" (the one that played through the whole first season of Liquid Television) and "War", which is probably my favorite.

I am still looking for all the season 2 shorts in which she dies at the end of them all.

Beavis & Butthead with the music videos

Sort of coming; MTV/Viacom recently finalized a deal with Mike Judge to release the show on DVD with the first of three 3-disc sets coming out at the end of the year. The first volume is supposed to contain 40 hand-picked Beavis and Butthead shorts from the first couple of seasons (mainly the ones Viacom previously refused to release on DVD due to content) uncut and uncensored with about 5-10 selected (IE whatever videos Viacom can get the rights to on the cheap) music videos from the show added to the series as extras.

You know, just thow Liquid Television on a DVD set and I would be happy.

Won't happen, since a lot of the shorts aren't owned by MTV/Viacom. Best bet would be to just hunt down the uber-rare "Best of Liquid Television" DVD which has a lot of the more famous shorts on it.

MTV Oddities presents: The MAXX

Again, stuck in legel rights hell. Ironically, MTV's been trying to get The Maxx released on DVD for the last five years but haven't ever been able to come to agreement with Sam Keith over liscencing issues.

The Aeon Flux shorts and television show and.....

The shorts are available on the OOP and ultra-rare Aeon Flux DVD MTV released back in 1999 along with the first couple of episodes. However, with a live action Aeon Flux coming to theaters soon, it's been rumored that Viacom is planning a uber-deluxe DVD set collecting the entire series and the shorts together on DVD.

GROWING F'N PAINS

*sings* SHow me that smile again (Show me that smile)

Don't waste another minute on your cryin'....

I don't think a mediocre show like that deserves to be on DVD. Besides, they probably show all those episodes on TVLand or Lifetime or whatever Christian cable networks there are. I mean, it's not like it was a quality show like Family Ties. Now that I could see being on DVD. A Growing Pains set would probably just feature Kirk Cameron talking about how Jesus saved him or how Tracey Gold battled bulimia or blah blah blah.

Next.

Holy Crap, Undeclared came out on dvd! I forgot to mention that one. Gla dit's out. House S1 is also coming out soon so no need to wait.

Growing Pains shoudl come out, come on if every other show from the 70s and 80s comes out then they deserve as well.

If this continues in a few years well get that long-awaited Small Wonder dvd set.

I know it's not on TVLand, but I don't think it is shown anywhere. And I'm no Growing Pains fan, but this is a pretty weak argument against it. There are a hundred, no a thousand shows on dvd right now that are infinitely worse.
