Frankie Kazarian to leave WWE?

Recommended Posts

I was actually thinking during this week's Velocity that Kazarian may be the one X Division/Cruiserweight styled guy that had a "future" in WWE. He's not too small, he can talk and adapting to a more WWE logic style wouldn't necessarily take away from his in-ring contributions, unlike the little guys who are dependent on aerial and big bumps. I was thinking he had a Curt Henning type of appeal that they may like. This really sucks if it's true. With Velocity going off the air soon, I was hoping they'd at least realize that they have workers like Kazarian, Spanky, London, Juvi, Super Crazy, etc. that can go and at least fill up time on Smackdown with good wrestling. It's just unbelievable how badly they take that division for granted. It's something that I think they will ultimately regret when TNA catches on a little bit for filling that void on WWE programming. Not that TNA is going to make a huge ratings impact but those who will watch just may realize what a joke WWE tv has become and how little they value good workers and wrestling.

Good god, I just realized that their "lights out" match = dark match. The writers can't be THAT stupid to not know the meaning of a "dark" match... can they?

No wonder Meltzer laughed.

This is stupid beyond not even knowing Kazarian was on the active roster.

I wonder if it was one of the Nickelodeon writers who said that.

I'm really sad to here that Kazarian is leaving, I enjoyed his short buy enjoyable spate of matchs on Velocity. With him and London having matchs on Velocity each week it was making Velocity the must see WWE show every week for me. Hope he lands on his feet.

From what I heard on the Wrestling Observer last night, Kazarian approached a writer with a few ideas about his character and the writer simply replied, "Aren't you here for the dark match?" Obviously, this didn't make Kazarian optimistic about his future in the company.

As reported earlier, Franke Kazarian has left WWE. Kazarian apparently asked for his release months ago after not being used much. WWE responded by adding him to the Smackdown brand and giving him wins on Velocity. Kazarian still wanted a bigger role which led to his release. One of the issues with Kazarian was WWE new policy to not allow cruiserweights to do high-risk, high flying moves like the Shooting Star Press. Kazarian also fell out of favor with WWE when he wanted to change his look and cut off his long hair.

WWE and Nickelodeon combine efforts to bring back younger viewers with the hit new show Are You Afraid Of The Dark Match?

It may just be a typo, but I thought it was WWE that wanted Kazarian to cut his hair and Kazarian refused, not Kazarian wanting his hair to be cut.

Not to nitpick, I was just wondering if that's what PWInsider actually meant to write?

Kazarian's webmaster posted about his release on his site, www.thefuturefrankiekazarian.com.

"Frankie Kazarian has parted ways with World Wrestling Entertainment as of Saturday evening. Kazarian wishes WWE all the best in their future endeavors.

We'll have an official statement from Frankie right here this week. Thank you again for all your continued support."

I LOVE~ how he wished them well in their future endeavors like they always do with people they part ways with!

At least WWE won't try to get an interview with Kazarian like they would have if WWE had decided to release him instead (Charlie Haas, Matt Morgan, etc.).

Meltzer's latest update confirmed Kazarian was released. Not only that, but his former tag partner, Matt Bentley aka Michael Shane, is also out of work, as it were, having left TNA.

That's quite interesting for both to leave their respective companies at the same time.

Would you figure it indictates they may just want to stick with ROH and the likes instead of fiddling in low card hell?

Well, that's the first I've heard of that.

Ok......I am no longer with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Yeah, by now you knew that. In the end, I feel just did not fit personally or professionally with the company, at this point in my career. It was decided by both sides, that we, at this time should no longer do business.

WWE is a great company, and I wish all the people there nothing but the absolute best. Lets face it, WWE is the reason a lot of folks are wrestling fans today.

While there, I learned so much, and was able to reconnect with some old friends, as well as make some new ones.

I thank everyone there for their help and input, and I thank the WWE for the fantastic opportunity.

To my fans, you have been amazing, and I cant thank you enough for the outpouring of support I have received in the last few days. In times like these, you realize who your real friends are. I am so motivated to get back into the ring ASAP.

Thank you all so much, and God bless.

Frankie

My take, while the losing Frankie Kazarian isn't a huge blow to WWE, I think they need to realize exactly what's going on here. It's never a positive sign when young talent are requesting their release from what's supposed to be the "big leagues". Think of the decline of WCW and what it meant when guys like Raven, Benoit, Eddie, Saturn, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, etc. were asking for their release. You don't hear of major league prospects being called up to the New York Yankees only to decide, "this isn't for me, i'd rather go back to the minors".

This company is not professionally run. It's embarassing enough when creative team members know less about past storylines than Diva competition rejects - and it's posted to the Internet - but when creative's stupidity and lack of knowledge about the product is actually making young good workers head for the door - it's not the big time anymore, Vince.

As I said in the TNA folder, "You go, Frankie!" It's good to see someone standing up to the stifling ways of the WWE for once.

Kazarian was a guest on the between the ropes show tonight. He was asked about the non-compete clause in his WWE contract when it comes to TNA. Kazarian did indicate that it would be a long time, similar to Spanky who had to wait 6 months. So I wouldn't expect him back in TNA for a very long time if he were to return there.
