Can we talk about the Trade a little more?

I was the only one in the room of people watching RAW with me that recognized Torrie's music immediately, and began going nuts as they were my Smackdown! divas. I was worried they just jumped ship but then they announced "trade." So I was hoping maybe Hurricane and Tajiri, you know Womens division for Cruserweight division competitors. Then it is announced that it's Christy and Stacy. This is ridiculous. Christy showed signs of promise in the ring and would be good to have in the division if it ever returns; and Stacy is at least competent. Candice I don't think has ever wrestled, and Torrie never showed anything against Dawn Marie or Hiroko etc. What will Christy do on Smackdown!? become The Sunny of LOD 2005 with the flame outfit? Will Stacy forgive Randy for the RKO before Wrestlemania? Will the WWE even remember this?!!

 

Please feel free to give your thoughts on the character direction of all four ladies.

Huh? Christy Hemme was visibly lost in the ring when she wasn't doing her kicking act or botching the Twist of Fate, she was not a wrestler. Calling Stacy Keibler "competant" in the ring is a laugh, Stacy Keibler makes Jackie Gayda look like Bull Nakano. Torrie Wilson and this other chick aren't wrestlers either, and probobly never will be. Why do these bimbos still have a job again? They don't sell merchandise, they don't draw, they put the crowd to sleep. I mean, they seem to pop ratings for some reason beyond my ability to comprehend, but even that's likely just a coincidence. Oh yeah, and not only were you the only person in the room of people you were watching RAW with to recognize Torrie Wilson's entrance music, but you were also the only person on the face of the planet to do so as well.

it's just a random, non-sensical, bullshit trade, is all..

 

..which is why it makes sense that it happened. I doubt the women's division is coming back any time soon, so this means nothing at ALL in the short-term. All but 2 women wrestlers (emphasis on wrestlers) are on the roster. This was probably to give the background scenery a little change, or something.

Calling Stacy Keibler "competant" in the ring is a laugh, Stacy Keibler makes Jackie Gayda look like Bull Nakano.

 

The same Jackie Gayda who participated in quite possibly the most botched match in the history of Raw in the summer of 2002? At least Stacy never screwed up in a match to epic proportions like Gayda did that night in July.

 

Why do these bimbos still have a job again?

 

Because they're more popular than half the roster?

 

They don't sell merchandise

 

Calenders, posters, DVDs....

 

they don't draw

 

Well, who does these days? It's mostly the WWE brand.

 

they put the crowd to sleep

 

Maybe if it was full of gay men or puro marks. WWE crowds seem to consist of average joes and teenage boys who like hot women. At a show in Baltimore I went to, the pop Torrie got when her music hit was deafening.

 

I mean, they seem to pop ratings for some reason beyond my ability to comprehend, but even that's likely just a coincidence.

 

Guys flipping the channel like hot chicks in next to nothing maybe? I know, I know. What a wacky idea!!!

 

Oh yeah, and not only were you the only person in the room of people you were watching RAW with to recognize Torrie Wilson's entrance music, but you were also the only person on the face of the planet to do so as well.

 

Torrie's music is pretty recognizable considering that she's used it for, I don't know, at least three years. It's definately one of the more distinctive ones. And once again, at the house show I went to, the second that music hit, the crowd erupted as just about everyone knew who was coming down the aisle.

I'd still rather see Christy bouncing around than an aging hopefully mercifully to be released Torrie "Grandma Funbags V2" Wilson anyday. Speaking as if this was hypothetically my only option. But as long as Trish returns and squashes Torrie all will be right.

Personally I really enjoy watching the hot babes. I'd rather watch Stacy Kiebler anyday that watch grampa Hogan "Hulking up" again.

 

Its a bad trade for Raw because Stacy and Krissy...while subpar wrestlers to be sure...were vastly more entertaining than Torrie and Candace.

 

And Stacy Kiebler i'm sure sells more merchandise than half the WWE roster. I know all the so called "Smarks" get a hard on everything Paul London walks into the ring. But I'll bet Stacy Kiebler sells a whole hell of a lot more magazines than that guy does.

Since when is Torrie considered old? She's 30. She's younger than Edge, Christian, Michaels, HHH, Jericho, Eddie, Benoit, RVD, JBL, Batista, Rey...

 

Yeah, what a grandma. She should leave now!

 

I don't like Torrie in the slightest, but let's come up with real reasons for her to leave, eh? Like she's useless T&A and has done everything she can possibly do by posing for Playboy. Or her voice is grating to the ears? Not that she can compete with Candace in that catagory, because we all know she'd run away with that award....

Even if she's accomplished everything she has ever wanted to do in the business, she's a bargain (regardless of her contract) for the revenue she brings in.

 

Then again, Chyna and Sable were untouchable commodities too, so if she ever feels she's bigger than the business...

I thought it was pretty obvious that they moved Christy so Ashley wouldn't have to "compete" with her as this year's RAW Diva Search winner. Torrie and Stacey probably just got moved to make it seem like an even trade in that each was the top eye candy diva of their shows, and Candice Michelle got thrown in to even out the numbers. The timing of it all seems weird because Keibler was just getting involved in a storyline with Hurricane, and it might spell the end of the Eugene character as there's no one left for him to align with.

Let me reiterate what I say everytime this 'debate' happens ... not much real wrestling happens anymore, Benjamin/Angle from last night excluded.

 

If given the choice of watching Snitsky's foot fetish, Viscera being a sexual predator, HHH babbling for 20+ minutes, the reliving past glory trio of Flair, Hogan & Michaels, etc ... or watching attractive women feud, give me the attractive women any day of the week.

 

The day that Raw has enough good matches that the diva stuff is in the way I'll change my tune. Until then "mother fucking wrestling" isn't something that I figure I'll be seeing on Monday nights.

Well, Stacy was in the middle of an angle, and it's been dropped without explanation for this trade.

 

Torrie basically always wins matches/feuds, so they're boring as hell and seem to never end.

 

Her acting is atrocious, even by Diva standards. She didn't even have any on-air chemistry with her husband.

 

Kidman is gone--cut her and let them be together. Hopefully nowhere near a wrestling ring, that is.

 

It's been proven that when WWE puts her in a feud as a regular character, she tanks the ratings.

 

We've seen her nude already.

 

If the dirtshirts are correct, she has a bad attitude. Maybe they removed her from SD because she may have pissed off a few too many people?

 

I hate Torrie.

I figured this too, but then wouldn't it be easier to just send Ashley to SD? They'd only have to move one person per show instead of two and it wouldn't mess up any storylines or characters.

Wasn't Stacy feuding with Victoria also?

 

Stacy took a pretty nice bump from Vicky during that Hearthrobs match a few weeks ago. I'm not aware of them following it up on any Heats and they ignored in on Raws since then.

From a WWE official standpoint, there was a trade of Stacy Keibler and Christy Hemme to Smackdown in exchange for Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle. There is likely a reason for this, as it was clearly done with no planning in advance.
