UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Not that she can work or was ever any kind of ratings draw, but she's pleasing to the eyes. Credit: TNAWrestling.com

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Eh, Kim's initial face push was awful. They tried to win her over with the smarts with forced submission but I wasn't buying. Then again, TNA usually steers clear of women's work so maybe she'll manage someone.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 I hope this signing is for a managerial spot and not because TNA feels they need a women's division, because they don't. If this is the beginning of a new TNA women's division, it's one more sign TNA is just rehashing what WWE does except with WWE rejects as opposed to trying to be something remotely different. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Maybe she'll wrestle the guys. She's as cut as many of their lower carders.
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Ugh, I see that TNA can be as dumb as WWE sometimes... Kim was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where she was voted “Athlete of the Year” twice in high school before attending the University of Toronto. Kim is also a celebrity in her native Korea. She has graced the covers of numerous entertainment and fitness magazines in the United States, Asia and Europe. She was born in raised in Toronto, yet she's also a celebrity in her "native" Korea? Riiiight.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 GAIL KIM FOR X-DIVISION CHAMPION! ...OK, now that I've scared everyone... Question is, if she were a manager, who would she manage?

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 Worst part of that press release is that they refer to her as a "TNA Knockout," meaning that's their term for "Diva."
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 guess they couldn't find Kimona Wanalaya
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 I have an idea. Three things could happen with Gail signing: 1) Women's Division kick-started. NO ONE WANTS THAT. 2) She manages someone. Silly, no real impact. 3) She gets TNA some ratings through T & A, online pics, hype for her being on Impact in scantily clad whatever. Not likely. So why not... "Fans, let's welcome, here on Impact...to help us kick off our debut on Spike TV...YOU'VE KNOWN HER FROM OTHER ORGANIZATIONS... Gail Kim!" Gail will come out to a decent ovation. Then Samoa Joe comes out and shakes her hand. Then he kicks her in the face as stiff as humanly possible. He delivers a muscle buster, stiffs her in the face a few more times, and chokes her out. Joe makes it clear. Stop BRINGING IN OUTSIDERS. This is his turf. ___________ Gail is eliminated. Spike can bank on Joe kicking the shit out of washed up WWE castaways (castaways, that, in some cases, are more over and talented than the guys we're seeing on Raw nowadays, THATS THE KEY). Builds Joe up into a 1997 "Taz" mode with super heat. Sends a fuck you to WWE. Less money wasted on paying multiple castaways per appearence. ____________ Well that's the best they can do with Kim. You know what would be cool?

Astro101 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 I'm fine if it's a managerial role. No time in a one hour slot for a women's division.
Magus 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 She could manage Siaki and Apolo, since I think they're heels now. It's a low-level position where she can help those two get heat. I don't want to see her in any matches, but she can run interference as a tough manager and not just be arm candy.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 So Traci doesn't have to be alone in the women's locker room anymore...
Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 1. They could market and merchandise the hell out of her. 2. They could use her as a manager, wrestler or both. 3. She's cheap. There's a reason that Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler and the ilk remain employed with the WWE.
Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 Joe makes it clear. Stop BRINGING IN OUTSIDERS. This is his turf. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's kinda cool - but also ironic I mean how long ago did they bring in Samoa Joe as an "Outsider"? replace outsider with "Overpriced WWE cast off" you've got a gimmick... you just need people desperate enough for a pay day to show up just to get beat up on that note I wonder what Vince Russo is doing these days
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 She's an attractive piece of TnA (no pun intended) that can be used to sell 'diva calendars' and comparable shit if TNA ever gets big enough. And since she's professionally trained she can also bump and thus be used in the ring (as a victim of a beatdown or when a face gets retribution for her cheating against him) without much risk of her getting hurt. Guest Coffey Report post Posted September 7, 2005 I have to be honest, I like Gail Kim but I'm not seeing how she'll be too beneficial to TNA. She provides a little name value. She provides a little "T&A." However, what are TNA going to do with her? Are they going to start a half-assed women's division? Of course, those questions have already been asked and speculated against. Of well, at least she'll get some more exposure, I guess. I have nothing against her. starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 Question is, if she were a manager, who would she manage? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe if they brought back Jimmy Yang. they could pair them up. That being said, I don't remember Gail being able to cut a promo, hence her pairing with Molly after the heel turn. Has she worked with Traci before? As for attractiveness... she's not really my type, but I can see the appeal if you like the Kobe Tai type of girl.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 Oh, and for the record, TNA could feasibly start a women's division. All they'd have to do is get the NWA World Women's TItle under their control and they'd have something to fight for. I, on the other hand, would like them to bring the NWA North American Championship as their version of the IC/US titles.
