The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 Worst: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Congratulations on being an idiot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dalliance is one of the greatest songs of all time, but I just don't like the production of the album. Half the time you can't hear the songs because of the production. The other stuff he's done with Albini (or whatever his name is) is much better, i.e. Cinerama's Torino because it's more music and less noise.

Carnival 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 Bah, Carnival of Carnage was WAY worse than The Wraith. I actually liked some of the tracks on The Wraith a lot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I might agree with you, it was a complete toss-up for me. I just put the Wraith mainly cuz of the disappointment factor. Guest Samantha Report post Posted September 26, 2005 I'd list Americana along with Splinter as worst <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wasn't sure which one I thought was worse but in the end 'Splinter' just won, by a very small margin. I also didn't know which to put as best out of 'Smash' and 'Ixnay...; which I love.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Bah, Carnival of Carnage was WAY worse than The Wraith. I just put the Wraith mainly cuz of the disappointment factor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wasn't dissapointed at all. I liked that the big "Unveiling" wasn't something you'd see coming, but it wasn't something way out of left field that made no sense whatsoever. I actually think their WORST album is Hell's Pit. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Mezmerize would probably be their worst by default. Catchy stuff, but their debut still holds up well and features a SOAD that wasn't so set on trying to be "out there" for the sake of being so.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Maybe so, but I dislike the debut because their sense of humor was less present, the production is too muddy, and it feels more like a batch of generic nu-metal songs. In Mezmerize, they embraced a lot more melody, and while the lyrics are nonsensical, it's musically solid.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 I agree with Toffee...oh good call on 311 as well, though I think the self-titled blue album may be a tad better than "Grassroots"...
Guest Samantha Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Best: Worst: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. I think 'In Utero' is much better than 'Nevermind'.

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 I disagree. Bleach was and still is superior than Nevermind, but its on the same factor In Utero. Though the MTV Unplugged is the best they have ever done, recording wise. While I'll defend my statement that Dance of Death is the best Maiden album, its the only Maiden album that I have enjoyed every song. Powerslave really goes down after 2 Minutes to Midnight, and there aren't any hidden gems that Maiden comes out and grasps. The X-Factor is bad. Horrible. Save for Sign of the Cross, which Bruce does better on Rock in Rio, its dull and boring. For System of a Down, no doubt in my mind that their self-titled would stand out. Production is too muddy? bah. It was something new and good to the metal scene at the time. Though Mezmorize is better than Toxicity, any of these albums were better signifigantly than Steal this Album!
