Hektik Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Dude, I live in San Diego. I frisked the people who came in the stadium last night. I think I have a better perspective than you. And besides I had to listen to a lot of people complain about it in the way like they wanted him as a Charger. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have been a charger fan sice I was 8 years old and I have a better perspective. It is not about wanting Eli to play here. It is about having an unproven rookie saying I am going to choose where I play. What do you want the fans to do, cheer him. Hell no, you boo the shit out of him.
Fökai Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Chad Johnson is now the most entertaining WR in all of football. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True, but most people (me, for one) could see this in him last year. If you've seen the Sportscenter feature on him, you'd know that the guy has a season's checklist of all of the opposing teams' cornerbacks in his locker, checking them off after he burns the guy in that respective week. Hmm, did Jeremy Azumah contain Chad yesterday? Checkmark next to "No".
The Czech Republic Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Not really. You tell a city that if they draft you, you aren't playing for them it is seen as a shot at your team or your city. of course they are going to try and stick it to him if they have the chance. he basically told them that their city sucks and he won't play there, even if he was obligated to. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eli Manning's snub wasn't shit compared to Eric Lindros, in terms of both the compensation that made the Nords-later-Avs a Cup team, and the sheer disrespect due to the whole French/Anglo dynamic.
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 How about Steve Smith's "strike a pose" yesterday? That was a nice TD celebration. I missed that guy.
Ripper Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 That shit had me rolling. Mostly because it was the gayest pose ever, but dammit if he didn't make it look manly. Plus the "I am tired from my running, but I am still going to try and look serious" look on his face. I called my friend and he was already laughing before I called. And yeah, it is a joy to watch that guy play.

Mik Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 And lumping Palmer with HARRINGTON isn't the best way to go about the discussion. Just stick to Miguel Cabrera jerkoff-a-thons. (I'm just kidding about the last part.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Palmer has had 3 good games and now everyone is on the bandwagon? If we are talking strictly from a learning curve perspective, Manning is already miles ahead.
KingPK Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Uh...were you watching last year? Among others, he had a very impressive game against the Patriots late in the season.
Cartman Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 While the Pats won, if Rodney Harrison is down for the year, the Pats will be in bigger trouble than they think. . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...ort=NFL&id=2821
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Also let's look at this year: Palmer: 69/97 for 786 yards, 8 TDs and 2 INTs, Rating=114.0 in 3 wins, 0 losses Manning: 47/88 for 689 yards, 5 TDs and 2 INTs, Rating=88.7 in 2 wins, 1 loss. Now make your conclusion from that.

Special K Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Chad Johnson's riverdance cracked me up. Carson Palmer is tied for the most TD's in the league, and is second in QB rating. He has 17 TD's in his last 6 games. Those involved games against last year's NE and Blatimore D's, and this year's nasty Bears D. The best thing Eli Manning's ever done is pass a ball to Kurt Warner. Holy hell, that was funny. He actually did look quite good yesterday, in all honesty, but better than Palmer? Even on the learning curve? Getthefuckouttahere.
Fökai Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I don't know if this is big news yet, but the timekeeper at the Pats/Steelers game put a extra 52 seconds on the game clock in the 4th quarter (a false start penalty at 13:59 by the Steelers, then the clock inexplicably goes backwards to 14:51).
Fökai Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 And noone noticed? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hence the reason I posted it. I don't know how this got by all of the officials and scorers.
Urban Warfare Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Chad Pennington is out for the year (I can't find a story yet)
2GOLD Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 The Steelers screwed the Steelers. Plus Brady would have probably still have found a way to get them within 53 yards and Adam would have just walked off the field with the winning field goal AND the record for longest field goal.
devo Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Chad Pennington is out for the year (I can't find a story yet) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If this is true...fuck. I wouldn't really mind that much under usual circumstances, but since Fiedler is injured also, that means Brooks fucking Bollinger would be starting for the next few weeks. It's already confirmed that he's starting against the Ravens. Gahhhhhh.

Brett Favre Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 This is sooooooo like 1999 after the year 1998. The Jets lose a heartbreaker to the Broncos (after leading 10-0 at halftime), in the AFC Championship. Next year, Super Bowl expectations! Vinny tears his ACL and we're done. Our defense is good enough to scrape 8 wins maybe; depends how hurt Fielder is himself. If not, Leinart, here we come.
The Robfather Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 NFL better get their shit together. Stupid errors like that should never happen.
Stephen Joseph Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 THE ROCK IS BACK ON MONDAY NIGHT!
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 The Steeler/Patriot game seemed extremely preseason-ish to me. Neither side did much complicated stuff on either side of the ball. It was extremely vanilla, and I suspect neither side wanted to tip their hands for the eventual playoff meeting. Either way, the Steeler O-line sucked.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Why the hell would Jets draft Matt Leinart? Chad Pennington, when healthy, is more than a serviceable starter.
devo Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Sure, but it's hard to imagine him approaching anything resembling his former self after two shoulder surgeries.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Still they have more pressing needs than QB. I still don't think they will finish so badly that they get the first pick. They could of course, like the White Sox, prove me wrong.
Guest *KNK* Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Why the hell would Jets draft Matt Leinart? Chad Pennington, when healthy, is more than a serviceable starter. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He hasn't been healthy in 2 seasons... You can't be a servicable starter when you can't start.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 So, Choken, how do you like my college's QB that we gave you?
Black Lushus Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 that IS Choken, isn't it? Now it all makes sense...
