How couldn't he, after Keyshawn shoved a finger in his face today, complete with a "F*** YOU! NO, F*** YOU!" Anyone else catch this? It was shortly after Sheldon Brown's fumble TD run. Guest Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Good the Bengals lost. I hate Palmer and don't know why he's become a god to the media now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe you should look at the stats. Before this game he had a 72% pass completion rate, that's tops in the league. Not to mention he's a former Heisman Tropgy winner. Does it have anything to do with him having gone to USC? Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 The Colts better beat the crap out of the jobbers on the schedule because after the bye week it gets a lot tougher, what with NE on the road, Steelers, Chargers, Cincy, Seattle. Sigh, why do I sense the Colts first loss being the Patriots? And just wondering but why do teams just let Brady and Vinatieri constantly do this shit to them (Steelers recently, Falcons today)? I'd think someone would just flat out do a cheap shot and take Brady out or take out Vinatieri's legs after a point. Honestly, why can no one stop this lame "Patriots get tied by ______ and then go down and get a game winning FG" formula? It's so repetitive and tiresome. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Better yet, why don't other teams STOP them from doing that in the first play? And Atlanta was nowhere near robbed. I didn't see the game, but for fuck's sake when you let someone complete 22 out of 27 passes, that's a sign you're getting worked by the QB all game long. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And NE was getting worked by the QB all game long. It wasn't exactly a defensive struggle out there today. But calling a guy out of bounds short of the first down, with 4 minutes togo in the game on a play that should have put them inside the 40 when he CLEARLY didn't come CLOSE to going on just because the NE sideline told you to, that is fucking robbery. Don't get me wrong. Great game by Brady, and ALlen Rossom's dumb penalty had just as much to do with the loss today as that play, but that was just some plain horrible officiating. On top of that, the call on Patrick Kerney for offsides when the Tackle CLEARLY moved on 3rd down the next series was also a embarrising bad call. And so was the no call on the block in the back on the touchdown off the screen. And with all that, the secondary still should have been able to do something in the first or third quarter to win this game and they didn't. My "Atlanta was Robbed" comment was following the play in question, but I won't say they were robbed in the game. Bad calls happen. But goddamn was that one costly. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Pleased to see Tennessee can release half the team in the off-season and field the youngest & least experienced team in the league, yet they still aren't the worst team in their division.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Well, it helps when you have the Houston Texans in the division who can't win a game.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Well, the Redskins at least put up a fight and came within a two point conversion of tying that game. Last year, we wouldn't have even been in that position against that Denver team in those rainy conditions. Also good to see Brunnell only get sacked once as we had max protection going on. While I am hesitant to call the Redskins a playoff team still, they will fight and compete and will probrably be in most, if not all their games this season. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Honestly... is it just me, or is the officiating really, really, REALLY awful this year? I've never seen more blown calls, or so many penalties being called, as I have this year. I'd really like to see a statistical comparison to previous years as to how many penalties are being called, because it's absolutely ridiculous this year. Teams are just not able to just play football anymore, it's looking more like basketball out there with all the ticky-tack fouls being called. For fuck's sake, it's a CONTACT sport. DA, I'd call the Redskins a playoff team, in fact it looks like you could pretty much send the whole NFC East to the playoffs. Maybe have one of the wildcards take the place of the NFC North or West winner..
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Alex Smith's first start: 9 for 23, 74 yards, 4 interceptions. Um ya he wasn't ready. Not sure why they started him against the fucking Colts. Why didn't they just put a gun in his mouth and pull the trigger? Who would've thought, last year, that the Colts' defense would be something to fear. I'll buy into it more when they play an NFL team... You mean like Carolina, or San Diego?
Robert 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 McNabb should have the surgery, because playing through it will have long term effects on you. I had it during college (cut my football career short) and ignored it for a long time. It finally got bad enough that I needed surgery or it could fuck me up badly. Also, the Saints lost Deuce for the year with a torn ACL.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 11, 2005 I think this Pittsburgh-San Diego game could be described as the most boring good football game I've seen all year, and possibly beyond that.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 Most boring football game period would be Skins v Bears from Week 1. The penalties are killing it, but I think this goes down to the wire.

strummer 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 for whatever reason,Ive always found the Steelers tough to watch. They just play the most mundane, non-descript games. I have no idea why because they are a real good team and it's not like they don't throw it deep every once in a while. But still tough to watch.

devo 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 Are you referring to the "fair catch"? Yeah, that was pretty ridiculous.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 I've seen about five or six atrocious calls. The personal foul on Pola was terrible. They missed an obvious intentional grounding call on Brees, they gave them a gift in a 15 yard interference call when it should've been illegal contact at best (the ball was uncatchable), and the fair catch interference was just utterly gross. Offensively they still aren't a powerhouse or anything, but the positive sign is that they have gotten better every week. This same team in week 1 would have lost to Denver 21-6 probably. Gibbs is the man, he is teaching the team how to win first and once they learn, they will be great. Also they did drop over 400 yards of offense all over the #6 Defense AT Denver, while only surrending 257 offensive yards total to the Broncos...............they gained more respect from this loss then their three wins, in the media's eyes at least.
