Epic Reine Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Mine was "Here's To The Night" by Eve 6. I was pissed when it wasn't "Turbo Lover" by Judas Priest. So what was yours and did it fit the night?
BUTT Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 "In This Diary" by the Ataris. It was sufficient.
the max Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 "Heaven" by Bryan Adams. No, I did not graduate in 1985. Cheesy. And looking at the lyrics, it's more for a couple celebrating an anniversary.
Art Sandusky Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I don't think we had songs for our proms.
Corey_Lazarus Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Beats me, I didn't go. I don't remember the song for my ex's prom, either. But I do know what song I want played at my funeral above all else...and that would be the single greatest song in the history of rock n' roll. "Freebird," bitches. "Freebird."
The Metal Maniac Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 You know, I have no idea if we even had one. All I know is, that prom was a horrific waste of money. I really wish I hadn't gone.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 What kind of stupid ass school has a song specifically for proms? Graduation or homecoming, sure, but proms? By the way—and I am not kidding—my senior year, the homecoming theme was "Welcome to the Jungle." And yes, they fucking played the GNR song at homecoming, which was met with mild controversy from the more conservative element of the student body. The graduation song was by hometown heroes Quad City DJs with "C'mon Ride the Train," or whatever that retarded song was called.
Darthtiki Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Prom sucked, I had a ghetto tux which was a suit and a bowtie, my g/f had a really ugly hair cut, the food sucked, I didn't have a car, and the song was Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" which SBC used in their DSL ads. Senior Ball, I don't remember the song I remember my g/f had a stunning dress and wackiness at Denny's after the ball.
Henry Spencer Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 No Prom song, but our graduation song was "Because I Knew You" from the musical Wicked. Or whatever that song is called.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 They play a shitload of different songs at prom. HOW IS THERE A FUCKING THEME, UNLESS YOU WENT TO A SCHOOL FOR THE DIFFERENTLY-ABLED, WHICH I GUESS I COULD UNDERSTAND, BECAUSE, YA KNOW, ONLY SCHOOLS FOR THE MENTALLY HANDICAPPED WOULD HAVE A PROM THEME SONG.
MDH257 Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I remember being given a ballot to vote from a choice of three songs. The only song from the list I remember is "How's It Gonna Be" by Third Eye Blind.
eiker_ir Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 at my graduation they played "Loney Road of Faith" followed by "Hybrid Moments" because i made a video and they played it. I was marking out hearing the Misfits on my graduation night

For Christ's sake, you're getting all worked up over freaking high school. A lot of high school proms have themes- they pick one song and that's the last song they play at the end of the night. Jesus, monkey, calm yourself. Mine was Green Day's "Time of Your Life" or, as I pointed out it's other name, "Good Riddance." I thought it was very appropriate, b/c it was symbolic of my hatred for people in high school- it was an awful song to dance to and a boneheaded move to make. I laughed at the people who picked it the entire time.
Black Lushus Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 "In Your Eyes"-Peter Gabriel (that's the title of the song, right?)
Guest xSarahx Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I didn't go to any proms. We didn't have a graduation or homecoming song. But when I "graduated" 8th grade, our theme was Hollywood and a bunch of girls showed up in full gowns. They looked like idiots.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I think it was that hippie Alladin song. Or was that homecoming?...
Nighthawk Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Sure, proms can have themes, like the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. I'd have rather drank bleach than go to any sort of dance at the time, though. The me of today, I'd probably go, but only to make a spectacle of myself. I remember the goth kids staged their own antiprom. I think it was some sort of rave. I didn't go to that either. But their song was probably better than the regular prom.

Except it wasn't goth kids but a bunch of kids who didn't have dates to the actual prom, so they declared prom "dumb" and had their own at someones house or something. I didn't go to that one either.
Guest I miss Test. Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Ours was some lame song by Hootie, or something. I didn't go. We just went to the party afterwards.
Red Baron Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 "In Your Eyes"-Peter Gabriel (that's the title of the song, right?) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most positive that this was our prom song too, but I hardly remember the night.
Guest Smues Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I don't know if we had an official 'prom song' but at my prom was the first time I ever heard the song "Survivor" by Destinys Child. I'm still raumatized from that.
Carnival Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Eagle Eye Cherry - "Save Tonight" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't hate, it's a decent song. I remember one prom having a theme of "Amazed" by Lonestar. I hated it. Hey, I do live in BFE, Nebraska. I actually got the DJ to play "U Can't C Me" by 2Pac, so that saved the night.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Amazed by Lonestar was ours too
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Oh, Boon. What will we ever do with you?
Corey_Lazarus Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 I remember the graduation song. It was "Good Riddance," and half of the class sat there and raised a fuss over it because of how overplayed that fucking song is. Of course, my 8th grade "graduation" song was "Graduation" by Vitamin C, and it was just me and a couple other people raising a fuss over how shitty it was. I really wish I made a video for graduation, because I would've set it to something by Black Label Society or some other "hey, they're soft enough for YOU to like them, but heavy enough for ME to like them" band that the dumbass wannabe elitist I was in high school would choose. Though I'll laugh if anybody ever chooses Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" to be their prom and/or graduation song. I'd laugh THOROUGHLY.
The Czech Republic Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 It was some U2 song you know, that one

The local shitty pop station had like six different versions of it with various graduating seniors saying random shit about graduated. I remember this vividly mainly because of the one moron who said which school he was from and then "VADOS LOCOS FOREVER!!"
