Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 This is the wrong attitude to have. Well despite not having a few matches that I'd like to see on DVD quality, I'm pretty happy with this set unlike some other people in this thread.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 perhaps breat left out canadian stampede due to the fact that 3 guys on his team and one on the other have now passed on (Bulldog, Owen, Pillman, and Hawk)? I dont know. The cover sure does suck though. But hey, as was said, thank god Bret agreed to participate otherwise the main program would have been 2 hours of WWEs side of Montreal (which why somewhat valid, still needs Brets side to make it fair) Hey theres plenty of dvds to be made, you think if this ones sells a ton, that Vince wont think about another one? JJMc 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 What exactly is a UMD?
BHK 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 SS 96 and the Canadian Stampeede 10-man aren't on the DVD???? That's INSANE! Other than those tow very glaring omissions, I'm happy. A UMD is a disc that plays in PSPs.
cbacon 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 I was really hoping for the Hart Foundation/Demolition 2 out of 3 falls match from SummerSlam '90. I haven't seen it since I was a kid.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 I was thinking the same thing about the Demos match. I loved that match back in the day and the interview before it with "two hearts pumping as one" or something. I guess it could have been worse for real, but I think a big reason why a DVD like Flair's sold so well was that it had stuff that a ton of people just didn't see air originally. Bret should have put the phantom title change on there. That's a marketing tool to sell the DVD. I wonder if Flair made a DVD with his 100% input he wouldn't show himself dethroning Bret as champ. Bret could have been egotistical in that fashion, but the whole match was left out. Canadian Stampede is kind of glaring since the match did happen in Calgary with his family ringside. I would have chosen the SNME Bulldogs/Harts match myself, but any match with them was good. I thought for sure he would have tried to get a match with him against Dynamite on there. The Strike Force match from the night Hogan got dethroned would have been a nice touch. How come no one has noticed Bret leaving out his whole heel run upon return in 97? 4hartthreat 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 How come no one has noticed Bret leaving out his whole heel run upon return in 97? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe because he was heel in the ONO match against Taker?
Promoter 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 No he wasn't! He was a face/tweener everywhere, but in the US.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I think you should all just be happy you're getting a Bret Hart DVD. A few years ago no one would've thought this would be possible, so why not just enjoy it for what it is. Are you really going to argue with Bret Hart himself about what HE chose to put on HIS DVD. If he liked the matches, I don't see any reason why I can't.
Robert 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I like the listing. It's not all the big matches, some gems that I haven't seen in a long time. I'll get it for the feature, and some rare matches that I haven't seen in a long time.
Promoter 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I'm glad Bret actually worked on this. The DVD stuff is the only high quality stuff this company puts out on a regular. However, Bret leaving out certain things actually is telling and not so much about disagreeing with him. For instance, there is no HBK stuff and that is one of the biggest rivalries in the history of wrestling. I would tend to think it might have to do with what Bret felt about Shawn being apart of the finish of the Slam 98 match(HBK stealing his glory and probably trying to give the impression that HBK's chapter of his career wasn't that big*downplay it*)). Anyways, the main feature will probably touch on things we can't see off reading the list.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 I was actually hoping the shot for the cover would be the shot of him from the back from one of the WMs, I think, where he was coming out from the tunnel with the pink lights around him. It looks really omnious, even in pink.
Guest rawmvp Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Maybe the Canadian Stampede match wasn't featured because it's 45-50 minutes long with the entrances and aftermath. Oh, and as far as the significance of the Shawn-Bret match at Surv Ser 92 is concerned, it was Bret's first PPV Title defense. And as far as what would be an appropriate match-listing for the DVD, I had this in mind: 1) Hart Foundation vs. Strike Force -- from '87 2)Hart Foundation vs. British Bulldogs -- from Saturday Night's Main Event 3)Hart Foundation vs. Rockers -- Phantom Title Change 4) Bret vs. Dynamite Kid - Stampede Wrestling/Ladder match 5) Hart Foundation vs. Demolition - SummerSlam 90 6) Bret vs. Hennig - SummerSlam 91 7) Bret vs. HBK -- Ladder match from 92 8) Bret vs. HBK -- Surv Ser 92 Title vs. Title 9) Bret vs. 1-2-3 Kid -- RAW 10) Bret vs. Bulldog -- SummerSlam 92 11) Bret/Owen vs. Quebecers -- Royal Rumble 94 12) Bret vs. Flair - 1st WWF Title victory 13) Bret vs. Owen - WM X 14) Bret vs. Savage - From 1987, Saturday Night's Main Event 15) Bret vs. Lawler - SummerSlam 93 16) Canadian Stampede 10-man tag 17) Bret vs. Diesel - Surv Ser 95 18) Bret vs. Austin - Surv Ser 96 19) Bret vs. Terry Funk - Funk Dedication Show in 1997 (Has an ECW-like crowd) 20) Bret vs. Vader vs. Taker vs. Austin -- Final Four
Aero 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Maybe the Canadian Stampede match wasn't featured because it's 45-50 minutes long with the entrances and aftermath. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, the match is less than 25 mins, and entrances couldn't have taken any longer than 10 minutes. I'm happy with the set. Sure, it would've been great to have Survivor Series 96 & Canadian Stampede on the set, but it's not that big of a deal since I have them on tape. Plus, I don't think the cover's THAT bad... It could've been better, but I don't think it's horrible.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 The only match I don't want is the Nasty Boys match which I wish was replaced with Hart Foundation v. Brainbusters from SS 89, but hey whatever. Great set anyway.
Guest Biggles Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Only complaint about the Hart DVD is that the Ironman match isn't on there. I know it's on other DVDs, but I wanted to see it on this one.

Toshiaki Koala 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2005 Canadian Stampede should be on there, but I don't mind since I already have it on tape. The Survivor Series match is REALLY hard to find, though. At least they got rid of the Isaac Yankem match.
