Fantasy Football Help Redux

I think I would bench Portis. The Eagles Run D has been very, very tough this year.

On your QB situation, no clue since the Steelers D is all over the place. They completely stuffed Palmer, then let the freakin' Ravens throw all over them.

My situation

Larry Johnson v Raiders

Lamont Jordan v Chiefs

Tiki Barber v Niners.

If Priest is confirmed as missing the game, I'll definitely start Larry. They should all have pretty good games, what do you guys think?

Special K,

Start Tiki and Lamont. They both have insanely awesome matchups. If you can flex L.J. , great do it...But I would not bench Lamont for L.J. , simply because we know Lamont produces, and right now, he IS the offense of the Raiders.

Week 8 Update : Pay League

8-0

One more bye week (week 10) where I lose LT. That's it.

No major decisions this week. Won't know until Monday if I've won, as I'm playing a horrible team, but he has Peyton and Harrison to my Wayne and Edge. I feel pretty damn confident though, as Plax and Tiki get the 49ers and Seattle faces Arizona (got Rackers and HasselSuck).

In my local friends league, worked my way to 4 straight wins (14 teams, deep roster) almost soley on IDP moves and trading for Stephen Jackson. In this league, I do have a question mark. I'm starting Priest and Parker this week, and have Jackson on bye. With only being able to start 2 RB's (no flex) is it worth trading Hines Ward for a solid starting back that doesn't split carries like parker does? I can get a Chris Brown or Thomas Jones...its been offered.

Unless your WR corp is ridiculously weak, or you're playing in a small league (changes a lot, you said 16 players, right?) I'd trade Hines Ward for Chris Brown or Thomas Jones straight up. Are you kidding?

Good RBs are such a rare commodity in my normal, 12-person league full of smart players, I traded Rudi and Randy moss for Tiki! I know it was crazy, but Rudi ain't shit to me as a starter or keeper, so it was basically Moss for Tiki. Do you play in a league that starts 3 Wrs? That's the only reason I could see you being hesitant. Priest is hurt, and sometime Vermiel has to acknowledge that LJ is running better than Priest (Outside of those two fumbles, and those were the first two of his career.) Get a starting RB while you can. It's about to buckle down.

EDIT: Tiki, Lamont Jordan, Larry Johnson, who do I start? I'm starting Tiki and Larry right now.

Who should I start as my final WR this week? The choices:

Roby, Courtney WR TEN

Brown, Reggie WR PHI

Johnson, Andre WR HOU

Robinson, Marcus WR MIN

Robinson is questionable, AJ hasn't done shit all season and is just coming back from injury. Roby can put up good numbers with Bennett out, and I just grabbed Brown in light of the TO fiasco. Thoughts?

What does everyone think of this trade:

My friend needs a second RB this week:

He had Priest, Larry Johnson and Chris Perry

Priest is GONE, Hes starting LJ and Perry is on bye.

There are NO good free agents left so I was gonna trade him:

Jerome Bettis (yes hes questionable but hes a big steelers fan)

&

Ricky Williams (gives him a RB who isnt on bye and someone to start on sunday)

for

Chris Perry (so I have a RB in this deal)

&

Alge Crumpler (i desprately need a TE who can give me points, right now all i have is Daniel Graham)

After this trade and waivers are cleared:

I should have as RBs:

Willis McGahee

Willie Parker (who is questionable)

Duce Staley (picking him up this week in Waivers)

Chris Perry

He would have:

Larry Johnson

Ricky Williams

Jerome Bettis

K: You're starting the correct backs. Jordan has good games, then he has these 10-yard affairs where he earns his keep in dubious fashion by catching passes. Not consistent enough. Tiki will slaughter the Niners. *I* could slaughter the Niners.

LPM: Reggie Brown looked pretty damn sharp last week. Just sayin'.

pack: Ugh, you both have ugly RB situations, but Ricky is likely the best #2 back for either of you. There HAS to be an Erron Kinney or a Heath Miller floating around in free agency. If you're really boned, though, go for it -- Crumpler is a stud at TE/

There's not a Jermaine Wiggins, a Chad Lewis, SOMEONE available? Well shoot. I dunno, Parker's stock seems to be falling, Staley is like 100, Ricky is a shade unproven since his return, and Perry's not even the #1 back on his team. I guess take Crumpler while you can.

Parker's pretty worthless. And yes, my other league we start 3 WR's. I lost Priest in that league, but I got Gado off of the FA list. Jackson/Gado, kinda sucks, but hey.

So check this scenario out.

I'm now 9-0 and clinched both playoffs and a bye. I have LT, Edge, Tiki, and Larry Johnson. I have Edge and Tiki's backup.

I've been offered Gates for Crumpler and LJ. Great trade, except the guy who is offering is a cusp playoff team who will be very scary if he makes the playoffs (great WR's, the best).

Trade with him to get the dynamic duo...or, since I play him this week (on LT and Gates's bye) send him packing. If he doesn't beat me this week, he wont make the playoffs

How the hell did you get LT, Edge and Tiki? Was everyone drunk at your draft? And, you should definitely make a trade with those four backs (assuming you only start 2).

This is a tough week for me with LT & Chad Johnson on byes. Who would you start out of Brandon Stokely, Marcus Robinson or Justin McCareins?

Drafted LT in the first round and Tiki in the second and Larry Johnson in the 7th round.

Drafted Lamont Jordan in the third round, traded him and Fitzgerald for Edge and Plaxico 2 weeks ago

I start two and have a flex position, so I start 3 total.

I'm worried Edge is sitting during the championship game

Your team is awesome.

I could've traded Tiki Barber and either Marvin or a 1st round pick (after every team takes 4 keepers) for Steve Smith. I would've according to my philosophy of consolidating for keepers, but fuck that. I;m the highest scoring team in the league, and I have a team that can definitely take the championship.

A top 3 QB (Carson)

3 top-10 RBs (LaMont, Tiki, Larry Johnson)

Marving Harrison

I'm a bit week at WR2 (Kimmy Smith, Jurivicius, Braylond Edwards)

But I think I have about a 50/50 chance to win it all, and nasty keepers.

Since everyone else is posting it, an update on how my team looks at this point in the season:

QBs: Brees and Brunell

WRs: Smith, Holt, Wayne, Houshmandzadeh, and Antonio Bryant

RBs: Tiki, McGahee, and Duckett

TEs: Witten and Heap

K: Tynes

DEFs: Colts and Panthers.

I'm 8-1, and currently #1 in the league by 1.5 games(number 2 team has a tie)

Just got offered a trade, Tony Gonzalez for Witten. Should I take it? Witten has better season stats, but Gonzalez has been producing more lately.

However, the team offering the trade is a dangerous playoff-cusp team. They're the top scoring team in the league......and only have a 4-5 record. But, if they make the playoffs, they're gonna be scary. So, I don't want to potentially help them out...

Stay with Gonzo - he's trying to dupe you.

Tony's been motivated recently, and with the injury to Priest, causing LJ to take the running load by himself, Green has to look towards Kennison and Gonzalez to take up a bigger part in the offense. Priest's weekly receptions also have to be accounted for, too.

I have Witten.  He's offering me Gonzo.

Heh...well, you know my feelings on the matter now.

I'd wait for more opinions on Witten from other TSM guys, though. It could just be me selling him up the river.

I'm really tempted to take Gonzo...but something just feels wrong about it. Probably because the same guy ALSO offered me a trade where he wants me to give up my Colts defense......for the Jags defense? What. The fuck. Ever.

If it was some bottom tier team, or some team that was already gonna make the playoffs, I would make the trade. But this guy is 1 game out, and dangerous as hell if he makes it, so I'm cautious.

Take Gonzo...Definitely. He's back, and he's practically Green's #1 receiving option. If he thinks that LJ wont do enough for the run game and thus make passing difficult, he is crazy

TAKE GONZO!!!

Okay here's one. I'm fighting for aplayoff spot in a league where you start 2 RB's. Priest went down, so I am left with Stephen Jackson and craphole RB's...My best is Willie Parker, then Perry (bye) and Jacobs

One team will trade me Staley, Moore, and Bennett (solving my 0 RB spot right now)for jackson.

I like jackson. I dont like a 0 . But do I just wait for Willie to be healthy again?

this week is in the bag...

Hold onto Jackson, SJ. A major change like that fighting for a playoff spot might kill ya.

Here's one-

Westbrook v. Dallas

Larry Johnson @ Buffalo

Steven Davis @ NYJ

Curtis Martin @ Carolina

Pick 2

Westbrook = 7 receptions and 100 yards total on average

Johnson = lock of the week

Davis = 2 TDs every week but 50 yards on average

Martin = pray that he does not get hurt

Guest Crazy Dan

So I am doing pretty good this week... have a twenty four point lead and I have my TE, LJ Smith and a RB/WR slot open. Who do you guys recommend? I can either go with Marion Barber or Reggie Brown. Who should I start?

Smitty,

I have the same decision. I'm starting Palmer. He is the TOP QB in Fantasy, and there's no way I am benching him, even for a favorable matchup. He's gonna put up a good number of points.

I kept Jackson, got Gado and A. Smith on trades, so I'm looking like a playoff contender again. I'm good to go with my top 2 WR(Ward, Kennison) but Evans or Burleson as my third I dont quite like. I figure I can package A. Smith and one of those to upgrade, but how high can I shoot. Is it good enough to a Wayne-like or Rod Smith receiver? Just wondering what you all think fair value is.

Oh yeah, in my work money league, I've locked LJ and LT in this week (LJ due to facing Houston) and am starting Edge over Tiki, despite Tiki's favorable matchup. 10-0 and a first round bye.

Yeah, that's what I've decided to do, too. I can't not start Carson in good conscience.

Okay here's one.

In my work league, of course I'm 10-0 with the #1 seed locked. So I'm looking at potential playoff matchups.

This week, a stat correction by Yahoo created a tie. The superior team (with Shaun Alexander and Chad Johnson) is now #7, and scrub team who won another game is at #6. Top 6 make the playoffs

My schedule for the last three weeks is

Week 11: Scrub Team (5-5-1)

Week 12: Team with Alexander and Johnson (4-5-1)

Week 13: The Last Place Team, guaranteed win

Superior team has more points, than Scrub team, so if they have the same record, he's getting in.

Since I face both, this gets interesting. They face each other in week 13.

I can throw ( by playing my subs) this week's game, and then field my better team against the team with Alexander and Johnson in week 12. Week 13 simply guarantees that ill have the best record.

Do it? Duece a game on purpose and knock out the last team that I feel could have a greater than 20% shot of beating mine?
