Guest Report post Posted November 21, 2005 I was told that the kid got a penalty for hooking. I wonder who taught him how to do that?
mike546 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 They do more than that if you watch them on a consistent basis Moore is more of a scorer, he has six or so, but Ortmyer, and especailly Hollwig just go around and create energy. Moore and Ortmyer are both awesome at killing penalties and blocking shots. Without them, the Rangers would have no chance at being where they are in the standings. Unless you were kidding when you said that, I completely disagree. A resurgent Jagr and some surprisingly good goaltending is why the Rangers are where they are. Not energy players. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I'm not joking. They Rangers take a shitload of penalties. Like the 3rd most in the league. Ortmyer, Moore, Hollwig are great penalty killers. Ortmyer is a shot blocking machine. These guys, and Prucha, and Tutyin bring energy to the team that they haven't had in a long long time. Obviously Jagr has been incredible, and having two goalies playing awesome defintley helps, but I can honestly say the Rangers aren't where they are without the HMO line. Jagr even sad it a couple weeks ago, that Ortmyer and Moore and Hollwig and a couple others are the best role players hes ever been with.
Guest Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Some news: Todd Marchant was claimed by Anaheim. The Florida Panthers placed Alexander Krapovtsev on the waiver wire The Penguins put Rico Fata, Konstantin Koltsov and Rob Scuderi on the waiver wire. Fata and Koltsov are really fast players. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 Hurricanes have hit a bit of a snag. Injuries have taken a toll in the last two games as they have lost to the Rangers and Lightning. They go for a third straight victory against the Ottawa Senators Tuesday night.

Guest Report post Posted November 22, 2005 They want him or 900,000 dollars. Washington's paying the money.
Kismet 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Man I hope he doesn't have to go back to Russia. I don't want to have the "Hey, remember Ovechkin? Man, he was great, too bad he had to leave" conversation. I want the new wave of players to do well and flourish in the current version of the league. Edit: 900,000$ is all? Cool, that should be no problem.

Guest Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Burke's sent down Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry so that he can clear space to make a huge trade involving Petr Sykora. The guy is on the block. Ducks aren't done trading.
Kismet 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 A Red Wing player collapsed at the end of the bench. The game has been stopped, players left the ice. They won't release the name of who it is, and it wasn't caught on camera. They have taken his jersey off and looked to do cpr. The ambulance has arrived. Edit. They look to be bringing a girlfriend or wife over to the bench also..
Guest Report post Posted November 22, 2005 I'm hearing it's Jiri Fischer. Someone told me they didn't see him leave the ice.
Kismet 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Yes it's Fischer, ambulance has left. No word on what it is. Edit: May have taken a puck to the throat. So says an eye witness. He didn't go to the hospital as of now.

Guest Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Really odd. Sep. 23 Jiri Fischer (D) Det. has returned to practice after having his heart examined, according to the AP. "There is a little abnormality, but nothing that will stop me from playing," Fischer said. Fischer said his heart essentially is a little thicker than normal. Sep. 19 The Red Wings sent Jiri Fischer (D) Det. to the hospital for precautionary tests after he had an abnormal heart exam, according to Sports Network. He did not have to be hospitalized and was resting in Detroit after undergoing tests Wednesday. He is expected to have more tests Thursday and could undergo more exams on Friday. From last season. Just odd.

Kismet 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Undecided as of now. They are waiting for another ambulance to get back to the arena, but no announced decision. A meeting was held between the two General managers of the teams and the coach of Nashville. Edit: cancelled. Everyone is leaving.

Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 after hearing about the hockey player suffering a seizure from Czech I thought this thread could use a bit of a laugh. WEEI in Boston has something called The Whiner Line where callers can leave minor rants and then they get played at the end of the day. Here's what one man had to say about the Bruins. Hey Denis Leary, it makes sense that a funny guy like you is the spokesman in the new Bruins commercials cause this team's a fucking joke
Dogbert 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Horrible to hear about Fischer. Hopefully, he'll make a speedy recovery. Elsewhere, the Flames blew a 2-0 lead before taking Colorado 3-2 in a shootout. Good game by Phil Sauvé, as he made 33 saves and stopped Sakic, Hejduk and Tanguay in the shootout.

Hey Denis Leary, it makes sense that a funny guy like you is the spokesman in the new Bruins commercials cause this team's a fucking joke <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As a Boston hockey fan that's amazingly apathetic about the local circle jerk subject (aka the Red Sox saga) I find it very irritating that the jackasses on EEI (and their drooling minions) only talk about the B's when the team's not doing well. The team won their division the last season and were rarely, if ever mentioned.
Boon 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Meh- it's not a hockey town niskie, you know that- the same can be said about the Celtics. Fuck, the Revs make the championship and you wouldn't even know we had a soccer team.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Oh, no doubt, Boon ... but the thing that sucks is that this WAS a hockey town. And a basketball town. The B's owned Boston in the 70s, and as well as the late 80s (and the early 90s) ... and the C's were the best of Boston in the early-to-late 80s. It's just now that Red Sox fever has overtaken the city, it's all people care about 24/7/365. I mean, when the Pats were in the playoffs last year, there was still as much baseball talk as football talk ... it just drives me insane.
