Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Fox Sports radio reports that a radio station in Detroit has reported the Lions front office will meet tommorow on whether or not to fire Steve Mariucci.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Hopefully that will soon be followed by the Lions front office meeting on the best way to fire Matt Millen.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 There was no reason to pull Joey in this game. His only pick wasn't even his fault. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Joey is done in Liontown. It's really over for him. I still another team should take a chance on him. There is a lot of upside to him and I think he could really be successful on a team with a running back. Plus he's zero risk. He's a young quarterback who allows you to go after a second stringer or whatever with a later round pick instead of a first one. The Jets should go for him since they'll need to use their early pick on...well lots of things.

He doesn't have the arm, which is common knowledge. He still makes stupid mistakes. There's nothing there. I'd rather have Rohan Davey.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Well, two games down but I'll go ahead and predict the rest of this week's games: SUN, NOV 27 Baltimore at Cincinnati: Cincy should rebound nicely and beat the piss out of the Ravens by at least 14. St. Louis at Houston: The Rams suck but surely not THIS bad...STL by 10. Carolina at Buffalo: Very torn on this, but since Buffalo is basically going nowhere I think Carolina gets their usual uninspiring win by 5. San Francisco at Tennessee: Awful game. I guess the Titans by 7 or so. New England at Kansas City: Very interesting game. NE can more or less lose here and it won't matter but KC needs it badly, so I'll take the Chiefs. Chicago at Tampa Bay: Chris Simms vs. this insane defense is comedy gold waiting to happen. Bears by 6. San Diego at Washington: Skins look done after losing to Oakland. SD by 14. Cleveland at Minnesota: I keep waiting for the Vikings to suck again but I'll have to wait a little longer. MN by 10. Miami at Oakland: As I said last week, Miami is done. Nick Saban confirmed as much. Oakland will stagger to a 7 pt. win. Jacksonville at Arizona: I think this will be a scare for the Jags since they never seem to win impressively on the road. JAX by 7 or less. NY Giants at Seattle: Great game, winner gets a leg up on home field throughout the playoffs. Seattle is a very shaky 8-2 and they're bound to lose at home sometime, so I'll take the Giants on a last sec FG. Green Bay at Philadelphia: Both teams are reeling but the Pack is truly hopeless. Philly by 3. New Orleans at NY Jets: Oh God. Jets by 6, but who cares? MON, NOV 28 Pittsburgh at Indianapolis: Roethisberger will be back and he's never lost on the road. Pittsburgh needs this one worse than Indy, but for some reason I can't really see the Colts' first loss being at home here. Colts by 7.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Man, fuck all'a y'all Detroit/Thanksgiving game haters. Can't we be happy with a game or two that isn't all about who the best is? so what is it about then? what the fuck does DETROIT of all places have to do with Thanksgiving? If anything, New England should have an annual game, Plymouth Rock and shit! For one thing, they want the Thanksgiving games indoors because they treat them like mini-Superbowls with the musical performances at halftime and all and don't want bad weather to affect those games, which it probably will if they were in Foxboro. Also, the Thanksgiving game has been the most attended Lions home game for a good while (and also is usually the Lions' only nationally televised game each year) so I don't think they would want to part with such a sweet deal. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 I would love to see Mooch go back to Green Bay. When Vitamin X first mentioned, I didn't think it would be possible, but now that it does seem like Mooch is gone, I'd take him over Sherman any day.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 Ooh, I would adore it if we fired Sherman and got Mariucci. Favre would have to stick around for Mooch, even if Sherman's gone.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 26, 2005 The only thing I'd fear with replacing Sherman with Mariucci would be developing young quarterbacks, which is something that, although Steve succeeded with Favre, was definitely not able to do with Harrington.. So we'll see about Rodgers. Tra Thomas is on IR for the rest of the year. THE RACE FOR LAST PLACE IS ON!!! Here's a scary thought: The Eagles being in good draft position to nab Reggie Bush. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 Won't happen. The Eagles already have more wins than San Francisco and Houston and Tennessee and New Orleans.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 26, 2005 New Orleans and Houston don't need running backs, and I could see Tennessee going more for an impact wideout. Most likely scenario is Bush goes to San Francisco, but if they pass, and if for some reason the Eagles really tank the season or move up in draft positioning, it's possible. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 I'd be concerned if it was Runyan, but Thomas is completely shot at this point anyway. Herremans was respectable during the preseason so I don't see McMahon getting murdered back there. And any successful running over the last two games has been behind Jackson-Andrews-Runyan (the other side has been a nightmare), so his run blocking can't be any worse than Thomas. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 With Norm Chow in Tennessee, he will not resist taking an USC guy. Especially if they don't take Leinart and honestly... CHRIS BROWN?
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 If the Eagles are in the top 5-10, they try to make a move for D'Brickshaw Ferguson. No way Reid passes on a potential franchise OT, when his current ones are in their 30s and need replacing in the next couple years (Thomas immediately). MrRant 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 The NYG vs SEA game scares me as I doubt it will be Seattle rolling over NY (could happen..) but will either be a close game or Seattle ends up getting smoked. I hope it won't happen since the game they could have really had a let down on was San Francisco and they sorta got that out of their system but still won. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2005 On TV for me this week: Pats/Chiefs Panthers/Bills Bears/Bucs Giants/Seahawks Man, I miss Sunday Ticket. Not that it matters any, but Warren Sapp has been placed on IR and will miss the rest of the season.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2005 Hmmm......Chris Simms troubles continue with anything from the state of Oklahoma. He fumbles and Tommy Harris recovers on the one leading to a Bears TD. So what are everyone's thoughts on Orton anyway? Is he at Big Ben levels of good? Or just "i'm good for a rookie" good? Big Ben had more to work with than Orton though.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2005 Orton = Trent Dilfer circa 2000. Decent but not good, but usually won't do anything to take you right out of the game.
