Other than Veronica Mars getting snubbed, I am happy.

EDIT: And I am not happy. What is with DH getting all of the actress' nods? Fuckin bullshit. The show can't be THAT good. And there are plenty of women from other shows that deserve to be nominated. Well, it is comedy but I think I just don't like DH.

And seriously, why is VM getting snubbed? I haven't heard one person who actually watched the show who didn't like it. VM is amazing at taking 3 storylines and making them progress through the whole season while ALSO having stand alone episodes. I just don't get it.

The movie stuff I can't have beef with since I haven't really seen any of those movies, other than "Crash."

Meh, Anderson didn't do much for me. Goggins didn't do anything that made me go "OMG HE NEEDS AN AWARD" even though he is really good.

And Close was awesome this season. That one episode where she goes off for some reason (it slips my mind what for and what episode, but I know it was near the end of the season) got the nod for me.

reading this list really proves how crappy this year was for movies... seriously, there's pretty much nothing on the lists for drama or comedy that i want to see. we need a new charlie kaufman movie ASAP

The Globes are a joke anyway.

Wait- The Squid and the Whale was a comedy?? That movie was depressing.

Just like last year when Eternal Sunshine was nominated for comedy.

Johnny Depp's performance in Charlie... in no way deserves to be recognised. It was pretty bad.

It's obvious the Globes are a fraud and this should prove it I mean- "Munich" nabs a Best Director nom for Spielberg, yet the film is only now being screened and it doesn't show up in any other categories- proof if you ask me that no one from the Hollywood Foreign Press Agency saw Munich (and don't get me started on the quagmire that is the HFPA) but couldn't stand to not nominate Spielberg for director (though if they had seen the film he'd probably been nominated as "Munich" is getting the buzz that "Million Dollar Baby" had last year)

It's ridiculous, say what you want about the Oscars but at least you know who votes for them and the nominations usually makes sense.

Does anyone even watch Everybody Hates Chris?

I mean, I tried to like it too, but come on...

I'm still working through season 1 of VM, but it really is an incredible show, one of the best on TV. I'll stick to DVDs with this show though especially since it appears to be on opposite Lost.

as to why its not getting nominated, well duh, 1) it has teenage characters and 2) its not popular. None of which has to do with its quality, but whatever.

Gilmore Girls gets nominated for Emmys.

And I'm sick of that teenager crap. You can have good television when the characters are teenagers.

He said it was a great show. But the perception is you can't nominate a show like that. Buffy never got a single nod, which was ludicrous, as it featured some terrific writing early on. VM is one of the best-acted show around, specifically in the case of Kristen Bell and Jay Dohring, but they're in their early 20's, so apparently they won't be taken seriously.

However, AD doesn't have that stigma. It's still hilarious, I guess no one at the Globes wanted to bring the audience down by nominating a cancelled series, even if it is the funniest on TV.

Every single actor on the show should have been nominated in front of Charlie Sheen. STEVE HOLT! should have been nominated ahead of Charlie Sheen. Jessica Walter should have been nominated ahead of everyone on DH (Eva Longoria? Yeah, she's such a fucking comedic talent.)

God, I do this every time.

Guest Evolution

Actor-Drama-TV is pretty loaded, with four entertaining actors (haven't seen a lick of Grey's Anatomy)...I think I'd go with Kiefer or Hugh, though, unless this Patrick Dempsey guy is backflippin' amazing.

Drama Series

Commander in Chief, ABC

Lost, ABC

Prison Break, Fox

Commander in Chief has aired, what? 9 times? Hardly enough of a track record to declare something the best show on TV. I mean, the Emmys are bullshit too, but at least they wait until the TV season's over before they start making judgements.

I have no idea what you mean.

I watch it every week, and think its great.

So, the Academy Awards next year in terms of who's being nominated looks a bit, well, vague right now. I'm guessing Good Night, and Good Luck, Capote, and Walk the Line all get nominated, though. Maybe Cinderella Man and Match Point will round it out as well.

LOST got the nod last year and it was the best show on TV.

Even though Jeremy Piven's going to get the Supporting Actor for Entourage, it would have been nice to see the Ethan Suplee get a nod for playing Randy on My Name is Earl. He's really been fantastic.

Charlie Sheen has consistently been a bad actor, and that streak continued into the one episode of Two and a Half Men I saw. I find it hard to believe he improved.

Eh, whatever. As long as the shows I like (i.e. The Office, My Name is Earl, little else) don't get cancelled.

Actor, Drama Series

Wentworth Miller, Prison Break

Kiefer Sutherland, 24

This puts me in quite the pickle...

Michael Scofield vs Jack Bauer.

Im sticking with Jack although its close.

24 getting the Best Drama Series snub sucks though, and I doubt Prison Break will win..

Side note..Wentworth Miller was the voiceof EDI in Stealth..

too bad that movie sucked.

And on the movie side, bleh. The only movie that got a nomination for anything that I've seen was Charlie and the Chocolate factory and thats just rediculous. Oh, and I guess I saw Crash and Kung Fu Hustle too..Go Kung Fu Hustle for Best Foreign Film! HA HA.

I'll probably rent Good night.... at some point when it comes out on DVD, and I might go to a matinee showing of King Kong but other than that, all the movies that got any nominations aren't even on my "might rent" list.
