Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2005 Sylvia/Telligmen makes sense because of Tim's upcoming fight. Putting Arlovski/Sylvia is kind of a step back.

MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2005 I may try and tune in. I keep trying to get into UFC more but I haven't found an fight or personality that has captured my attention enough.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2005 Damnit, I wanna see the Hieron-Goulet bloodbath. I heard it was the bloodiest match ever in the UFC. Dana said that you will NEVER see that match on TV. He seems to be sticking to his word here, but here's hoping it gets a DVD release or something.
Guest AndrewisyourHero Report post Posted January 1, 2006 After watching the Sylvia/Telligmen fight, I must ask: What the HELL is up with Telligmen's chest? It looks like he's missing a pec muscle.

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2006 Spot on, Lei. They really should've renamed UFC 54 "Night O' Stretchers"
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 (edited) This was the first time I ever enjoyed MMA. Awesome show. Don't know if I'd like it as much while sober, but this was the spark I needed to get me to watch more. Edited January 2, 2006 by Matt Young
Guest Amy Ace Report post Posted January 2, 2006 (edited) Did they show the Fitch/Larson match? Cuz the first showing I missed the begining, and the re-air I only watch the first few match-ups, so I guess I missed it. That was one I really wanted to see. Although, I don't think they should have called it a best of '05 show, as some of the matches they picked where a little suspect. It's supposed to be the best fights of the year, not the best one-sided beat downs, and brutal kos. Here's the match-ups I would've gone with- Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar- The Ultimate Fighter Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg - UFC 52 Tito Ortiz vs. Vitor Belfort- UFC 51 Chuck Liddell vs. Jeremy Horn- UFC 54 Randy Couture vs. Mike Van Arsdale- UFC 54 Geroges St.Pierre vs. Jason Miller- UFC 52 Rich Franklin vs. Evan Tanner- UFC 53 Chris Leben vs. Patrick Cote- UFN 1 David Loiseau vs. Evan Tanner- UFN 2 Renato Sobral vs. Chael Sonnen- UFC 55 Joe Stevenson vs. Luke Cummo- The Ultimate Fighter 2 Nick Diaz vs. Diego Sanchez- The Ulitmate Fighter 2 Jeremy Horn vs. Trevor Prangley- UFC 56 Luke Cummo vs. Sam Morgan - TUF 2 episode #10 Jorge Gurgel vs. Jason von Flue- TUF 2 episode #6 Mike Swick vs. Stephan Bonnar- TUF 1 episode #12 Josh Koscheck vs. Diego Sanchez- TUF 1 episode #11 but what do I know right? Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Get rid of Horn/Prangley and Cote/Leben, you've got a solid card.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Meh. I would've rather had them stick their old NYE tradition and play nothing but undercard matches that hadn't aired on the PPV's or UFN cards. Oh, well... at least I got to see a bit of Double 'Er.
Adam 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Looks like an awesome lineup. I hope there's a torrent of it available sometime soon.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 Watching the replay of it right now (DVR'd it) and all in all it's pretty entertaining. Of course, everyone's seen Bonnar/Griffin by now and I've seen Arlovsky/Sylvia and Sylvia/Telligman before. All in all though it seemed like a pretty good "UFC for beginners". Plus, Irvin's flying knee on Martin kicked several kinds of ass.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2006 Here's the match-ups I would've gone with- Luke Cummo vs. Sam Morgan - TUF 2 episode #10 Jorge Gurgel vs. Jason von Flue- TUF 2 episode #6 Mike Swick vs. Stephan Bonnar- TUF 1 episode #12 Josh Koscheck vs. Diego Sanchez- TUF 1 episode #11 but what do I know right? The only "real" fights from the TUF series were the final bouts. The elimination fights were considered "sparring" matches.
