Anyone here know what to expect from an evening of entertainment such as this?
Cran Da Maniac 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 I thought Cappadonna and the Wu had some beef going on. Guess they patched things up. You got anymore info about this show?
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 http://www.sonarlounge.com has a poster for the show. I dont have any info to add...
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 I'm so tempted to go the show in D.C. It's either the night before or after the one at Sonar. I don't know that I can justify $50 on them, though.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 You are going to pass up on the opportunity to run around screaming either "WU~!" or "WU TANG~!"?
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 I do that in my living room for free, though.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 But this time you will be part of a group. Socialize.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 I saw the tsonglist for the dvd of their SanDiego show a few years ago had like 35 tracks...will they play about this much on the upcoming tour?
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted December 30, 2005 Sonar really sucks. I wen to a Talin Kwali concert there last year. It was like a scene from 8 Mile.

MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2005 Sonar really sucks. I wen to a Talin Kwali concert there last year. It was like a scene from 8 Mile. Was Mas Dif there too? Seriously though, you should go. I've been to some Wu-tang concerts before, they're usually dope. Plus they have so many bangers in their catalogue (Solo and group) that you're guaranteed atleast 5 classics a night, at the bare minimum.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted December 31, 2005 How much is the Sonar show? If it's reasonable I might go. I fuck with Wu Tang. I'm just a little leery of Sonar. that place is a hole in the ground.

One of the best things about going to the 9:30 Club (when you're coming into D.C. from the south) is that, as you head west down 7th Street, the neighborhood gets exponentially more threatening with each block. Totally fun, and there's the biggest Popeye's I've ever seen there, too.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2005 Unfortunately, ODB was the most entertaining aspect.

Yeah I was in that neightborhood during a DC vacation, I was going to a Wizards game and I was looking for somewhere to eat and each street got more and more shifty looking. I was like "Hmm I should head back now..."
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 Do they do any songs from the various solo projects live?
Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 I was hoping there would be only one post in this thread, and that it would say "Aint nothin' to fuck with."
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 Unfortunately, ODB was the most entertaining aspect. Oh I completely agree, that's why "The W" and "Iron Flag" were ass, little to no ODB.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 ODB's solo stuff was pretty painful to sit through, though. Brooklyn Zoo wasn't too bad, but N**ga Please? Ugh, just painful. I liked ODB as part of the whole, when he could drop a few lines and then disappear again ... not as the entirety of the project.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 oh definently...Brooklyn Zoo was strong because it wasn't exactly a solo effort...the thing is, whenever you listen to a Wu Tang album and say "I dunno, I can't put my finger on it but this seems to be missing something", ODB is what it's missing. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 Do they do any songs from the various solo projects live? Lots. My understanding is that they basically just roll through tons of their verses, often not doing a whole song. That's how the Disciples of the 36 Chambers live album ended up with something like 30 tracks. If they all show up, that is.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 I saw them here (all of them, except for ODB or course), a few years back...you described it perfectly, edwin...what I found strange is that during all the advertising on both posters and radio spots, they kept making it a point to let us know that Method Man would be there as well...was there something going on with him? Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 I dunno. He's always been the most commercially successful/visible guy in the group, so maybe the promoters were just trying to reel in a few more people. Or maybe people were worried he'd be off shilling deodorant with Redman.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 They are holding a show in Philly at the Electric Factory that I'm debating on going to or not. Depends if I can get some more damn spending money together.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2006 "Gravel Pit" was one of my favorite Wu songs, though. And is in fact my favorite Wu video.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2006 CREAM is my fave WU Tang song...but I prefer solo Ghostface stuff, personally.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 I'm thinking about going to the show in Baltimore or D.C. Not positive if I'll go, but it sounds good, so I'm seriously considering it.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 I'm gonna hit up the GZA show when he comes to Asheville next month. 15 bucks is a steal. Anybody heard his new album with DJ Muggs? A friend's gonna burn it for me, just wanted to hear some opinions on it from you other Wu-fans.
