The Ill One 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2006 I was hoping that Doomsday would be a reoccuring problem for the Strike Team. Then it becomes another issue because of the pressure for the Strike Team to redeem themselves with that arrest. But that's nothing big. I'm wondering if Lem will use this for leverage or maybe try to screw Vic over again. But after admitting it to him I doubt he'd try to cooperate again. I agree with JasonX and hope they make sure Terry causes Lem and Ronnie to team up on him because it'd just get that much more interesting.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2006 For a guy that's supposed to be so smart Kavanaugh really dropped the ball with Corrine, if you're gonna pretend to have a kid in the same school as hers I think it'd be smart to maybe learn some of the teachers names and such. JasonX 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2006 For a guy that's supposed to be so smart Kavanaugh really dropped the ball with Corrine, if you're gonna pretend to have a kid in the same school as hers I think it'd be smart to maybe learn some of the teachers names and such. The fuck-up makes sense since Kavanaugh obviously is so full of himself and giddy at the fact that he thinks he's got Vic by the balls with one hand and can crush them once he has his fun regarding tormenting Lem via crushing his balls with his other hand. And that is what's going to cause him to fail in catching Vic, IE he's so over-confident that he started out several steps ahead of Vic that he'll piss away what advantage he has over Vic by being too cocky.... Also, more foreshadowing about Ronnie as the father of Danny's baby and we get to see Mara again. Hopefully they've learned their lesson with the character and at least make her sympathetic and not such a bitch this time out.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2006 I like the idea that Kavanaugh could be a screw up himself. Maybe it means he'll get a little grittier and take more chances going after Vic. Finally, a TV charcter that I'm enjoying not liking.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2006 The question is does Lem know that Vic killed Terry? Last week's episode with Vic not being able to look Lem in the eyes when he asked him seemed like kind of a way for Vic to tell him the truth without telling him. But last night's little song and dance Vic gave, was that just for Kavanaugh or was he putting the show on for Lem too? Some of the looks Lem was giving kinda indicated that he was buying it.... It was both for show for Kavanaugh and the wire and to get Lem off his back. Of course, whether or not Lem believed it is still up for debate since right now, he doesn't have much choice but to at least pretend to believe Vic's lies if he wants Vic to help him save his career and life. ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2006 Goddamn I love this show! I thought the main plot with the protitution ring was a bit slow, but that new chick going undercover was pretty awesome. The main plot this season is working really well for me, as it's bringing the whole series into a final arc and that's really satisfying. Yeah, I'm definately thinking that Ronnie's the father now, unless that scene was an intentional red herring. After 4 amazingly written and acted seasons, I'm totally emotionally invested in these characters and really hoping that the Strike Team makes it out of this ok. Oh yeah and I really hope that Mara doesn't learn too much and fuck things up.

JasonX 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2006 Some major news from TVGuide.com: The announcement of whether or not there will be a sixth season or if the second half of season five will be passed off as the sixth/final season won't be officially be announced until after the first half of season five finishes airing this spring. Also, they are stating that episode 507 is going to be a major episode in terms of the development of the season with something very very bad happening to Claudette . Current rumor has it, Claudette's health problems take a turn for the worse and she's either hospitalized and forced to take a medical leave of absence or TPTB find out that Claudette is sick and pounce on her by putting her on the same forced retirement list that Vic is on. . Makes sense... Claudette keeps disappearing during the middle of the work-day and/or showing up late, then tends to take a lot of cases that don't involve her doing a lot of fieldwork. (Following up on the alleged real shooter at the high school in the interrogation room vs. Dutch having to chase down the body that the parole violater was talking about) I think she has cancer and is going in for chemo, which is something she wouldn't tell anybody because she's hardheaded and doesn't want to show signs of weakness. The Ill One 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Next week's episode looks packed. Things are beginning to pick up and the end of this episode must've been awkward moment for Vic and Kavanaugh.
packwingfn 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Yes the end of the episode was good but defnitely a filler episode until the action picks up next week. Not every episode can be great so it's ok.
Special K 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Dutch helping Vic's ex is interesting. It could be interesting seeing him go against Kavenaugh. But yeah, filler ep. God, Julian's partner is such a bitch. I did like Vic's speech to the lawyer. Ironic foreshadowing much?
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Yeah. She's the type who relied on her looks to get what she wants. (Lord knows I've met enough of those bitches in my lifetime.) Now it's not going to work when your training officer is a closet homo and the other chick of note is preggers and tougher than most guys in that station. haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 I can kind of sympathize with the Julian's partner. Sure shes a fuck up, but I agreed with what she said last night in that the other officers give her WAY too much shit for her mistakes. Afterall she is just a rookie, and a rookie will make dumb mistakes. Julian is being an utter asshole to her, and the pregnant officer is a fucking bitch to her as well. It was fun to see Vic's ex call Kavanaugh out on his bullshit. Forrest does such a good job of making this guy come off as a manipulative prick, that I cant wait to see him get whats coming to him. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 I think there are times when Gay Julian could have been more understanding, considering all the times he fucked up as a rookie, but Danny, with all the crap she had to endure since season 1 has every right to bitch her out, especially when the n00b resorted to personal attacks. I wasn't sure whose side to take with Gay Julian and the n00b, but after she began bitching about how Gay Julian has a problem with women partners has me over on Gay Julian's side for now. I'm curious to see what happens to Miss America. Out of curiousity, Haws, have you seen previous seasons of the Shield?

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2006 The implication that Kavanaugh offed Patorio is also pretty creepy. Like, he's not just IAD. He'll cut your fuckin' throat. The baby/pregnant mother storyline was actually kind of terrifying and disturbing. Like, really hard to watch.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 I really like Kavanaugh, and I really hope he brings Vic down! Vic is a piece of shit who only helps himself out. Vic lied to Lem about killing that cop, and he helped Shane and his wife out when she put Tavon in a coma by striking him with an iron. And he got Lem to lie to Tavon about striking Shane's wife. Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 Walt Goggins and Kenny Johnson were doing an interview on the NFL Network today and they basically said that the season 5 finale is the best episode they've ever done, so here's hoping that it lives up to the hype. Anyway I'm enjoying this season quite a bit. The final scene of the last ep was scary in its intensity.

JasonX 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2006 When is the season finale? Middle of March, though we still won't know until after the current block of episodes ends if the Shield will come back for a sixth season and the time in which the remaining ten season five episodes will air, let alone if FX will retroactively declare them season six instead of season five part two if an official season six isn't signed off on and won't see the light of day until 2007. Betcha that they get declared 'season 6' so that FX can sell an extra full priced DVD set. It would be pretty weak to go out on a 10 episode season though.
