snuffbox Posted January 28, 2006 Author Report Posted January 28, 2006 As of now, the reunion appears to be not happening. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...ack=1&cset=true
snuffbox Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 The continuing saga of Billy "I want to be Axl Rose" Corgan... Smashing Pumpkins have been supposedly signed to Irv Azakoff's (Eagles, Christina Aguilera, Van Halen, etc) management group. They are now rumored to maybe headline the Lollaplaooza festival at Chicago's Grant Park.
PLAGIARISM! Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 I liked 'Tonight Tonight' but never bothered to look any further really. I have heard other stuff though, and it was alright. Zwan were the most pointless thing ever.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 David Pajo was in Zwan and I <3 David Pajo.
snuffbox Posted February 6, 2006 Author Report Posted February 6, 2006 Zwan was basically just the Pumpkins on Zoloft. Billy wrote all the material for both bands anyway...but it was like all happy with Zwan.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Oh, fuck Zwan. David Pajo is great.
snuffbox Posted February 6, 2006 Author Report Posted February 6, 2006 No, fuck you...uh...I got nothing, they were pretty lame. Honestly.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 One of my housemates was blasting that song the other day. It wasn't bad—better than latter day Pumpkins, I think—but still, who cares.
snuffbox Posted February 6, 2006 Author Report Posted February 6, 2006 A majority of Billy Corgan's personalities care.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I'm considering rebuying Siamese Dream if I can find it used.
Matt Young Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 According to Billboard.com, Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin have signed a management deal under the Smashing Pumpkins name, and are set to start working on the first new Pumpkins album in six years.
snuffbox Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 Update - I see Billy Corgan has changed his Myspace page to all SP stuff.
Youth N Asia Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Zwan was Billy, the drummer, an asian, and a chick...so it was basicaly the Pumpkins
Sideburnious Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 There was at least another guitarist in there somewhere. They were actually really good too. Anyone listen to any of Corgan's solo stuff?
Epic Reine Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 The chick from Zwan was Paz who is the former bassist for A Perfect Circle.
snuffbox Posted October 21, 2006 Author Report Posted October 21, 2006 I liked Billy's cover of 'To Love Somebody'
Guest Felonies! Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 I'm downloading Siamese Dream. Oh and I still love "1979," even if the riff is stolen from a Hüsker Dü song.
Guest Felonies! Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 "What's Going On," but it's not obvious. I think they changed it a little bit. Maybe I'm just full of shit on this one, but it reminded me of 1979 the first time I heard it. EDIT: "Disarm" is pretty melodramatic. Wow.
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I always liked their song off of the Singles soundtrack. Also, someone said that Siamese Dream is shoegazer. Agree?
Guest Felonies! Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I can hear some shoegaze in there. Some of this sounds kind of like a dumbed-down Loveless.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Oh, fuck Zwan. David Pajo is great. But the album he released this year stinks.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Call it adding a footnote eight months later.
snuffbox Posted October 22, 2006 Author Report Posted October 22, 2006 What Coachella should do next year- Offer Pavement a truckful of cash to reunite. It'd be neat after the Pumpkins apparently pulled out last-minute this year.
Dobbs 3K Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 I actually liked "Adore"...or at least "Perfect."
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 28, 2006 Report Posted October 28, 2006 Bob Van Dam, if you make one more pointless post like that in here I'm banning you.
