Michrome Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 In his interview today, AJ Styles said that the type of match he and Joe will have at against all odds has only happened once before in TNA history. Now I really doubt it will be a barbed wire match, so what else has only been done once? Last man standing?
Guest Princess Leena Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Joe will kick AJ really hard, but this time in Hell in a Kennel, or whatever that was called.
Guest Princess Leena Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Oh, TNA history. I can't read. First blood? Boring.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I can't think of too many gimmick matches the two could do with each other that hasn't been more than once thus far in TNA. Six Sides of Steel? The entire Lockdown PPV last year, for starters, had nothing BUT Six Sides of Steel matches. Last Man Standing? Done once during the Lynn/Credible feud in '03, and once during the Malice/Don Harris feud in '02 (a better feud than it had any right to be). First Blood is likely, although I know Lynn/Credible had one during their feud (sorta kickstarted the feud from just disagreement to full-blown feud) in '03, and wasn't there one just a couple months ago? Hrmmm...done only once in TNA...gimmick match...uhhhh...I'm out of ideas. The only TNA gimmick match originals have been the King of the Mountain, Ultimate X, and Triple Ladder...but they've all been done more than once. I'm wondering what it'll be...
Michrome Posted January 27, 2006 Author Report Posted January 27, 2006 Has TNA ever done an I quit match?
razazteca Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Dog Collar, Leather Strap, Shit on a Pole or will it be a gimmick match named after a movie like Road House Dalton Double Duece Brawl?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 The first thing that crossed my mind was the X Division Street Fight that AJ and Kid Kash had. (really good btw...perhaps Kash's best TNA match). But AJ just had a street fight with Moore...so maybe not. Other than that...I've got nothing'
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I think the Nash/Gunn match was first blood too, wasn't it? Anyway...I really thought that Daniels was going to be thrown in for a rematch of their 3 way. I'm really shocked that he's not.
Guest GoJoe Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Triple threat ladder match, the first since AJ/Lynn/Ki?
Astro101 Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 A first blood match should be for Joe and Daniels seeing as how they had the blood on a towel prop for a month or so.
2GOLD Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I quit or Last man standing make the most sense considering the feud they are in. As long as it's not some lame ass stretcher match or something like that. I think Submission match has already been done.
benoit4hor Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 They should do a six-sides of steel ultimate X match.
Placebo Effect Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 They should do a six-sides of steel ultimate X match. Six-sides-of-steel, chair on a pole, Ultimate X, strap match sounds good.
Fro Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 It's going to be a rematch of the 3-way with Joe, Daniels, and AJ
Matt Young Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 That would have been a letdown if not for the fact that that first encounter was fucking amazing.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 I actually feel it's a letdown anyway. If the feud is focused on AJ/Joe right now, the match should be AJ/Joe. Maybe have it be some inane gimmick like Double Tables or whatever (in order to win, your opponent must be put through two tables). Have Daniels screw both men over and it comes out a draw, and then the Triple Threat rematch can be the next PPV.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 The feud is more focused on AJ/Daniels right now. I'd like to see Tenay play up on commentary that the two can't get out of each other's way long enough for someone to make a solid run at Joe.
RedJed Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Given the fact is that whatever gimmick they are adding to this match is a deal they did once, it has to likely be a triple threat ladder match, I would imagine. The only other idea I thought of, and this would play into the storyline quite well, would be an I Quit match, but it might come off weird with it being an I quit match with three workers. Otherwise, not sure what they will do but its good to see they officially announced it as a three way now.
Guest Coffey Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 A five star match? What was the first 5-star match?
