Our home is Phazenet, so after downloading the script, type the following in the status window... /server irc.phazenet.com ...and you should be fine. I double checked my anti-Virus and the blocking of mIRC is stopped, and the only thing I can think of is that the University firewall is blocking things. Any ideas on how to get around it?
