Save Wrestlemania

"To update on the possibility of The Rock at Wrestlemania, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the one person he would want to work with is Bret Hart. Due to Hart’s respect for the Rock, if he was to work with someone, The Rock would be a likely candidate. However, his physical condition likely prevents him from doing a match that he would want to be remembered for."

It also goes onto say that the wwe suggested Shawn Michaels vs rock but the rock "wasn't a fan of that idea" because he felt that Shawn Michaels was an asshole to him when he first came into the wwe.

***Now, that would be interesting!

How about Rock/Hogan vs Kane/TBS? This way neither Hogan nor Rock has to job and they can be the team to finally beat the unstobbable champs. Big Show and Kane can argue over the loss and eventually lose the straps. Kane vs Big Show at Backlash.

ROCK ISNT WORKING A MATCH.

Why is this so hard to understand?

and if he does, it won't be to share the spotlight with Hogan or work Kane/TBS who he has no interest in working.

Hogan is very unlikely to share the spotlight as well, especially with a bigger star then him.

There's only two people right now on the roster that Hogan is going to work with that isn't already booked.

Foley and Show. Show, because he loves Show and Foley, because it's the only name really worth doing.

So you want to further destroy the credibility of the tag titles by having two guys come in from off of the street, and beat the unbeatable champs who have ruined every team on RAW since they won the belts. Do you work for the WWE?

The main purpose of tag teams nowadays is to job them in handicap matches to main guy they're trying to push. The tag titles are complete nothingness.

Assuming no Bret, Hogan, Austin or Rock, it gets pretty difficult. I'm not going to try and book the lower card matches, but this is what I came up with a few days back.

World Title: Kurt Angle vs Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton (Mysterio goes over)

WWE Title: Cena vs HHH

Edge vs Mick Foley

HBK vs Shane and Vince (Ladder)

Big Show/Kane vs Undertaker/Boogeyman (only use I could come up with for Taker)

RVD vs Shelton

GOD NO.

For over 200 reasons, NO.

Someone should tell Bret Hart that a ** (at best) match with the Rock at WM wouldnt really hurt his legacy any. The audience would be crazy and wouldnt care if it was a ten minute match without any big bumps.

That said, it still will probably never happen.

I wonder what guys like Bret and Rock think of this current 'dis Eddies ghost' angle.

I won't ask you to list all 200 reasons, but surely you agree that this'd be marginally better than Show vs Akebono, and would probably draw in a fair few 12-14 year old fans along for the ride. Which is pretty much who WWE are going for these days, from the look of things.

And it means Takers streak can continue without wrecking someone's career.

There's zero purpose in doing that. Undertaker, by all accounts will go over Henry or Benoit at Mania. Losing to Undertaker won't wreck either Benoit's or Henry's (dying) career.

Also, Kane Vs The Undertaker and Undertaker/TBS is so over-done, even at WrestleMania alone.

Not to mention that the match would suck beyond belief, not to mention the build would be insanely horrendous. The Boogeyman has no purpose in taking up ring time for WM. He can be served in a skit during the show and have the same effect.

World Title: Kurt Angle vs Rey Mysterio

Rey vs Randy at NWO doesn't happen, due to Orton's situation. Rey faces Mark Henry for the #1 contendership and beats him. The Undertaker vs Kurt Angle at NWO ends in a DQ, thanks to Randy going nuts on the Undertaker. Angle plays the tweener against Rey.

Winner: Rey Mysterio via 619, seated senton, then frog splash.

aftermath: Angle then shakes hands with Rey, and Benoit, Chavo, and Malenko come out to celebrate.

WWE Title(ladder match): Edge vs HBK

Triple H begins campaigning for a match against Cena at WM for the title. Trips gets #1 contender and Cena and Triple H begin to feud, even have a contract signing for a match. At SNME Edge vs Cena for the WWE title. Triple H comes out to do guest commentary, and has a confrontation with Cena, nothing physical. But it causes enough of a distraction that it cost Cena the title. (somehow) Edge is now champion and Vince says he reminds him of a young HBK..as someone already suggested. Vince recruits Edge to take out Michaels at Wrestlemania. The ladder match stip comes into play for obvious reasons, HBK and Edge can both lay claim to being "the best", and it also ties into the young HBK stuff.

Winner: Edge via McMahon screw job

aftermath: Bret Hart Appearence??? if possible.

Triple H vs John Cena (NO DQ)

Triple H defeats HBK in the finals of a tournament for the #1 contendership(McMahon interference). see above..... after Cena loses the title Triple H tries to get out of his match with Cena, so he can face Edge for the title. But he already signed the contract. HBK gets the #1 contendership by default, since he was in the finals of the tournament. Trips is pissed, and goes nuts on Cena and vice versa....

Winner: Triple H via Pedigree on a chair

The Undertaker vs Randy Orton

I know this has been done to death but...Orton is telling Angle he's coming for his title, about he's gonna beat rey and all this. Undertaker chimes in and says that he will champ come wrestlemania, orton says then he'll take out undertaker if need be..taker and orton get into it, Bob Orton comes out to help Randy, he takes a tombstone on the steps for his trouble. Bob is rushed to the hospital, we later learn he is in a coma. Orton is interviewed by Josh Mathews in the hospital. Randy snaps and goes from saddened, to angry to crying and vows to get revenge for his father. Randy finally has the motivation to defeat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

Winner: Randy Orton via multiple RKO's

Inter-promotional Money in the Bank Elimination match: Chavo Guerrero vs Rob Van Dam vs Shelton Benjamin vs Matt Hardy vs Chris Benoit vs JBL

not having this be a ladder match due to the WWE title match. Winner gets choice of a shot at either World title or WWE title. Order of Elimination: Shelton, Hardy, JBL, Chavo, then Benoit.

Winner: Rob Van Dam via 5 Star Frog Splash

I like the One Night Stand idea.

World Tag Team Titles: Big Show & Kane vs Carlito & Chris Masters

Carlito & Masters aren't getting along, but it's all a ploy. Carlito & Masters are fighting at ringside after a tag match with Kane & Big Show...Big Show goes to the back, Kane stays at ringside playing to the crowd, watching them fight. Carlito & Masters wait for Show to leave and attack Kane with chairs. Kane then blames Big Show for not helping him, creating tension between them.

winners: Carltio & Masters via 2 chair shots after Kane walked out on Big Show.

United States Title: Booker T vs Bobby Lashley

winner: Lashley via Dominator

IC Title: Ric Flair vs Trevor Murdoch

winner: Murdoch via whatever the fuck his finisher is

Women's Title: Trish Stratus vs Mickie James

winner: Mickie James via something dirty...whatever.

Cruiserweight title: Gregory Helms vs Jamie Noble

winner: Jamie Noble

WWE Tag Team Titles: MNM vs The Mexicools

winners: Mexicools

thats all i got.... my undercard sucks 4 sure.

Man, I remember when any of us could have thrown together a kick ass card for Mania from the talent roster and the way the upper cards were set up. Now looking at these cards, I'm starting to see why the writers are having a horrible time. There is no matches that sell, not a one.

I think they have a better chance of saving Ferris than designing a card that would save Mania.

again, at this point, Undertaker should not job at WM...let him have that, no one else will for a loooooong time...but if they were going to have him job, last year really was the time to do it...IF, I say, IF.

I'm not deadset on Undertaker losing at a Wrestlemania, but at this point if one person is to get the job done, it should be Randy.

Tag Title Unification Match

Kane & Big Show vs MNM vs Mexicools

You could even do a 2 falls match (like Angle/Benoit/Jericho for European/Intercontinental from way back when). Actually, that's the match you could have at Backlash, or a SNME once the two titles have been unified. Have Kane & Big show unify the titles at WM, then drop them to Carlito/Masters, then Carlito/Masters v MNM v Mexicools.

The thing is, once Kane/Big Show and Carlito/Masters break there will be no use for a tag title on Raw. It may as well go to Smackdown.

Hogan is all whiny right now with Vince over little things, and the odds of him being there are less than 50% WON said. He only wants to work Angle, Cena or Show, and Show is the only person without a booked bout.

I could see an angle developing w/him and big show. During big show and HHH's feud, HHH could say his going to bring in some protection for one reason or another, and it's someone from his past -- like an old nemisis. That would mean Hogan would have to play heel, and I don't know if he, Vince or anyone else wants to see that.

I'm surprised no one brought up undefeated Edge against undefeated Undertaker and Edge going over to gain back his TREMONDOUS HEAT that shot ratings through the roof and should have never lost the title :D

BTW, it's true. I usually come up with better stuff for Mania and it's kind of hard this year with how things are messed up. I'm starting to see why they are using Eddie Guerrero to sell Mania. Batista and Guerrero were probably a major portion of the event.

World Title match:

Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle

WWE Title "TLC" or some sort of gimmick match:

Edge vs Rob Van Dam

"Street Fight"

Triple H vs John Cena

The Undertaker vs Chris Benoit

Ric Flair vs Mick Foley

Obviously not the full card, but I have no desire to see JBL, HBK or Randy Orton in any matches, and there aren't really any appealing matches for them anyway. Taker-Benoit would be good and it's never been done(well, once on a UK PPV in 2000). RVD-Edge could be good if they make it a gimmick match, and Foley-Flair could be a fun brawl.

Why would he want to work with Angle? Get his fucking win back?

When Hogan was in WCW, he was always trying to get Yokozuna in so he could get his win back from losing the WWF title to him in 1993.

Hogan was also behind bringing Warrior in for the same reason.

Edge is undefeated at WM? well I'll be...

He is 4-0. (3 of the wins included a ladder), his lone solo victory was a quick victory of Booker T in a epic match over Shampoo.

Main Event Title for Title:

WWE Champ John Cena vs World Heavyweight Champ Kurt Angle

Come on you know you want the belts unified once and for all. Besides these two have already had a recent feud so it wouldn't be that hard to resurrect it.

The Undertaker vs Hulk Hogan

Taker puts his perfect WM record against the man who main evented more WMs then anybody. I know they've had many matches but this would be the one to settle it.

Triple H vs Rey Mysterio

Remember Triple H tossing Rey though the steps at Royal Rumble well I'd build on that.

Shawn Michaels vs Vince McMahon

Take Hogan vs Vince at WM 19 and substitute Shawn Michaels.

WWE Intercontinental Champ Ric Flair vs Chavo Guerrero

Chavo gets a title shot and Flair drops the gold.

Carlito vs Chris Masters

One of them is going to have to turn face I think.
