Guest El Satanico Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 He's on Oprah today to talk about why he ended his show. I'm not an Oprah fan, so hopefully Dave doesn't let it be too serious
razazteca Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 So Dave quit because he was not getting enough of the dvd profits?
Ravenbomb Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 no, Dave quit because of a huge conspiracy between Oprah, Bill Cosby, and Farakhan to destroy him
Nighthawk Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I think Farrakhan has earned the right to be called "Farrakhan" and not "that Farrakhan guy".
razazteca Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Dave wants to give his $50 million salary back to the people....how can the grumpy old men hate that?
UZI Suicide Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I went into this interview thinking Dave wasn't nuts, and came out of it thinking that he IS nuts. That interview was just fuckin weird, he was all over the place. I don't know how to explain it, the interview was just.. creepy. I dunno, it had a really weird atmosphere. I truly think the guy is a certifiable nutjob, and I doubt he ever returns to the show again. If he does it will probably be really watered down since he seems to have found his "blackness".
Guest El Satanico Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I didn't think he seemed nuts.
MrRant Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I think the problem will come if he gives into Oprah's "you part of the problem" BS.
Nighthawk Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Seems like he's reverting to his 18 year old self from that skit on his show.
razazteca Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Dave was more unstable than the time when Martin Lawerence "forgot to take his medicine" and was running in traffic. Seems like he's reverting to his 18 year old self from that skit on his show. Half-Baked
Vampiro69 Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Dave should have used the camera from his skit that showed where he would be 10 years from now. Bet he didn't think he'd be on Oprah explaining why he went cucko for cocco puffs.
Carnival Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I went into this interview thinking Dave wasn't nuts, and came out of it thinking that he IS nuts. That interview was just fuckin weird, he was all over the place. I don't know how to explain it, the interview was just.. creepy. I dunno, it had a really weird atmosphere. I'd blame it on the men with guns waiting for Dave backstage ready to do him if he didn't read the script Oprah wrote for him.
SuperJerk Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 From the sounds of Chappelle's actions, you'd think the man was on drugs or something.
Gary Floyd Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I was unable to see the interview. Anywhere on the net where I can download it? Oh, also http://www.chappelletheory.com/
Guest El Satanico Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 I was watching the same show, and I'd say the reports of his mental demise have been greatly exaggerated. He seemed nervous and unprepared to answer the in-depth questions, but not what I'd consider crazy.
Sideburnious Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 So did he say anything about doing the 3rd season?
starvenger Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I went into this interview thinking Dave wasn't nuts, and came out of it thinking that he IS nuts. Howard Stern was commenting on it this morning. Of course, it was more about taking shots at Oprah than anything else, but the gist of his comments about Chappelle were that he seemed like he couldn't handle the pressure.
Guest Evolution Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Was watching bits of pieces of his Inside the Actor's Studio and am planning on taping a repeat later, but it seems to be very interesting and probably a lot less serious than his Oprah appearance.
Matt Young Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Yeah, it's definitely been a hell of a lot funnier than his Oprah interview. And just for reference, it's beingreplayed at 11 PM pacific tonight, and 6 PM Pacific tomorrow.
Vyce Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 I don't want Chappelle to come back at this point. Something happened to him mentally. I don't know if it was the pressure, or that fucking religion of his, or what, but I have the feeling that if he ever comes back to do a show he'll try and make it more 'socially conscious' and just neuter the hell out of it.
NoCalMike Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Chappelle was on Inside the Actor's Studio last night, and nothing seemed crazy or insane about his decisions. He seemed perfectly normal and pretty justified in his actions.
razazteca Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Chappelle looked paranoid in every interview since his mental breakdown.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I think he has always looked like that. Everytime I've seen him, before and after disappearing, he looked wired and somewhat paranoid. It's his eyes, they bug out and always look glassy. He acts like a burn out, not a crazy man, man.
Guest Brian Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I think he's burned out, but the block party looks really promising and all his stand-up has been good.
Guest fanofcoils Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Is it true that Dave Chappelle quit because he wanted to do 7 n word jokes per episode but Comedy Central only said he could do 6 n word jokes per episode?
Guest El Satanico Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Is it true that Dave Chappelle quit because he wanted to do 7 n word jokes per episode but Comedy Central only said he could do 6 n word jokes per episode? N word? Dont be a pussy...go ahead say it, say nigga. Calling it N word makes it sound like you mean it in a derogatory manner, but are afraid. um...there's only been one, and that was the niggar family. Unless you thought Dave saying the phrase nigga was a joke, I don't know what you're talking aboot. Nigga is used in the skits and jokes, but rarely is Nigga the focus. :pops back in: Niggars!
