Just John 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 Why Houston would look to get rid of the guy they absolutely can't win without is beyone me. He isn't going to the Lakers without LA having to give up Kobe. A straight trade between those two would be pointless and wouldn't change either team's situation. Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 Hey I just heard from a friend in the Kings organization who said that a three team trade involving Sac, LA and San Antonio is going down. The Kings get Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant LA gets Bonzi Wells San Antonio gets Corliss Williamson and some expiring contracts. I don't know, this might fall apart before the deadline but I'm sure it's going to happen. Idiot.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 While we're talking about random practical trade ideas, I just checked this out on RealGm and it work... NY trades Jamal Crawford to UT for Matt Harpring and Milt Palacio I know I'm propably biased since I am a Jazz fan, but UT would get a shooting guard who can ACTUALLY shoot, and the Knicks would get two expiring contracts. Guest Report post Posted February 22, 2006 If you have to make a bogus trade rumor, switch McGrady to Allen. There, that's better and more realistic considering Seattle's financial problems. They're looking to deal him or Lewis.

See that kind of deal doesn't really work because it makes sense for both teams. Isiah wouldn't allow it. He'd want to give up Channing Frye, a first round pick and expiring contracts for Carlos Boozer.
Guest Report post Posted February 22, 2006 Ok, there. "The most interesting aspect of trade deadline week for the Celtics has been the realization that some teams believe what they read in the papers. That's caused a few clubs to call the Celts and inquire about the availability of Paul Pierce. According to one source out this way, a Western Conference general manager was surprised at the brevity of the discussion when Pierce's name was raised. Said another team leader: I think teams believe they can get (Pierce) by offering a bunch of stuff, but I don't think he's going anywhere. Boston Herald Lesson is, do not believe anything until you actually see it happen. I don't want to talk about KG moving to NY, nothing good will come of that discussion. Look at all the time I saved. Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 But Kingofthe909, don't you realize that every decent player in the league has to go the Lakers or Knicks?

Guest tony manero Report post Posted February 23, 2006 The Lakers have now decided to pursue someone with a similar contract, who they think would do better in the triangle. Plus, he's only suffered a hamstring injury, as opposed to multiple knee injuries (Kmart). The man I'm talking about is Carlos Boozer. As reported on NBA TV by Peter Vecsey, the Lakers, Warriors and Jazz might complete a threeway that sends Mihm and George to Golden State, Murphy and Fisher to Utah and Boozer to LA. I realize that I look retarded when a lot of the things I've heard don't come to fruition. I have access to the Lakers front office, so I hear a lot of things. With that said, let me make ONE more prediction before the deadline: Boozer AND McGrady will be Lakers tomorrow.
Guest Report post Posted February 23, 2006 The Boozer deal is something I've known about, but I thought it would happen last year for Butler and Divac. Yeah, that sounds more unrealistic than anything else, but I read it on a few websites. For what LA's giving for Boozer, it's good. Buss has a hard-on for him and now that Vescey reported it, I'm not too sure about it. I don't like Vescey. Since people like posting realgm.com shit, here's one. Dime Magazine reported on Wednesday night that they have been hearing that the Lakers are making a late push for Kevin Garnett. Any such scenario would likely include Lamar Odom, who has been having a disappointing season, as well as young center Andrew Bynum. Hell of a lot more realistic than anything else, even though Bynum's a big project. Minnesota could get more.

How is that more realistic than Odom and someone else for McGrady, who has personal problems stemming from a terrible relationship with JVG?
Guest Report post Posted February 23, 2006 It's more realistic than Frye and Penny for KG. They're both unrealistic, McGrady's more so because the Rockets can't win without him. Most of RealGM's shit is exactly that. Shit.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 There's nothing to the Garnett-to-LA article, either. It's just a fantasy trading column, and says as such right in the article.
Guest Report post Posted February 23, 2006 I only posted it because I feel that all the other shit in this thread is equally ludicrous. I mean, KG for fucking Channing Frye and Penny Hardaway? I couldn't tell anyone that while keeping a straight face. That's ridiculous. KG's a superstar, not Lamar Odom or Steve Francis. Quite frankly, everything posted in New York media makes Frye out to be some 30 pt 10 rebound type of guy. They make it seem like they wouldn't deal him for anything but a top 5 player. If this guy doesn't turn into Karl Malone, it's a letdown. He's overrated as fuck now. All this Frye shit has me pissed off. I need to calm down, but I mean damn, he's not this fucking future superstar. We just shouldn't post RealGm stuff until after the deadline. Everyone's saying the stupidest things and posting it under the wiretap as news.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 It's unrealistic because the Rockets aren't going to trade McGrady. He is the cornerstone of that team and when he and Yao are healthy they have one of the best teams in the west. Why would they give up one of the premier players in the game to one of their main competitors for an underachieving Odom or Francis? It doesn't make any sense. KG trades are also unrealistic, but Minnesota is nearing a point where they will have to give up on Garnett. They've realized that with the money they pay him each year, they can't put a championship team around him. They owe it to him to send him to a contender so he can win a championship and they can start their long rebuilding process.
Just John 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 How is that more realistic than Odom and someone else for McGrady, who has personal problems stemming from a terrible relationship with JVG? Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Just John hit it before me. Coaches go before star players do. JVG < T-Mac, by a longshot. I think KG's days in Minn. are numbered, but he isn't moving until the offseason. That's not from a credible source, that's just me making a not so bold prediction. Guest tony manero Report post Posted February 23, 2006 Tony Manero will have lots of time to spend hanging around the Lakers' front office when he gets kicked off the board for a week. If the Lakers get Boozer OR T-Mac then I win. If they get both, I become moderator for a week. If The Lakers acquire neither, then yes, you can ban me for a week. A week. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2006 ESPN.com is reporting a 3 way deal involving the Nuggets, Blazers, and Sonics... The Seattle SuperSonics have reached an agreement on a three-way trade that will bring guard Earl Watson back to the Sonics, who drafted him in 2001, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports. The deal, which is expected to be announced later Thursday, sends Seattle forward Reggie Evans and Portland swingman Ruben Patterson to the Nuggets. Portland, in its ongoing quest for salary-cap relief, was eager to part with Patterson and acquire Denver guard Voshon Lenard (whose contract expires at season's end) and Seattle center Vitaly Potapenko (who has only one season left on his contract). The Sonics also receive a future second-round pick from Denver in the deal, which has been sent to the league office for official approval.
