Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Y'know, I'd personally love to see Clippers-Spurs and Lakers-Mavs. Both LA teams could possibly take that. Jamaal Tinsley - 6 points in 9 minutes. Eddie Gill - 5 points in 3 minutes. Fred Jones - ZERO POINTS IN TWENTY-TWO MINUTES. ... yeeeah, definitely something wrong with that.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 I'm trying to figure out how the Rockets won tonight's game against the Pacers. Of course, it helps when Yao gets angry and hulks up. I guess he's finally getting the hang of the NBA game.
Just John 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 It really seemed like the Rockets were trying to give the game away with terrible ball-handling, but the Pacers wouldn't have it and responded by bricking every shot in the last 6 minutes. Yao's been looking damn good recently. Thank god too, because T-Mac's been going at quarter speed for a while.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 I'm glad I waited to see what kind of playing time Jim Jackson was going to get before picking him on any of my fantasy teams.
Krankor 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 I wouldn't count on any consist playing time out of Jim Jackson. He's just going to get garbage time minutes. Chicago almost took out Detroit tonight. They would have beat them if Ben Gordon wouldn't have spazzed at the end of the game and threw the ball right into the hands of a Piston.
Guest Report post Posted March 9, 2006 Jackson won't get any playing time until around the last 10 games of the year and the playoffs. No fantasy value unless someone gets hurt.

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 I'd love to punch Damon Jones in his mouth. Did he spout off at the mouth again because he hit a game winner? Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 From the latest Bill Simmons' column "Q: I think I have finally come up with an analogy for the New York Knicks … the WWE's Spanish announcer's table. Every week they find a new way to destroy that freaking thing. Just like Knick fans, the Spanish announcers know it is coming, but there is nothing they can do but wait, watch and carry on. But instead of Triple H giving Mick Foley a pedigree through the table, it is Isiah for Marbury, Curry or Francis. -- Tony Cortina, Rochester, N.Y. SG: And so it's done. They aren't the Knicks anymore … they're the New York Spanish Announcer's Table. Done and done."

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 I'm looking at recent numbers, Yao Ming has gone out of his mind since coming back, he's been on a tear. It might be too little too late though for this season though i dont think they'er that far out of the Lakers' 8th spot.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 They'd have to make a monster push because the Jazz and Kings are closer to the 8th. I've said this before, I think the Lakers will close in on 7th or 6th depending on how Memphis finishes, the Hornets will fade out and the Jazz or Kings take the 8th.
Guest Report post Posted March 9, 2006 The Lakers schedule is quite easy. The Kings will take the 8 spot and the Hornets will probably fade.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 While I want the Kings to at least make the playoffs, they do have a fairly tough schedule for the rest of the season. If they can squeeze into 8th, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Going 4-1 on this latest road trip helped tremendously.
jwpeer 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2006 I want Houston to win out the rest of the season, T-Mac to suddenly be healthy for the playoffs, and Houston to just destroy everyone in the playoffs. That would be hilarious Yao has been totally reawakened since coming back from that toe injury, I think it might bee the 3 weeks of rest he got, might have helped him In the future, maybe he should take 2 weeks off in the middle of the season, and 2 weeks off at the end before the playoffs, if they weren't in that huge hole at the beginning of the season. Just John 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 Well, I think tonight's Spurs/Suns game should effectively take Shawn Marion's name out of the MVP projection lists, although I have no idea why it was there to begin with. Everyone and their mom knows Nash makes that team go. It could be that the Spurs are just that damn good, but should Nash not play Saturday against Minnesota and the Suns lose, I think the Nash-dependency theory will be solidified. As if the Suns' 35 game turnaround last year wasn't enough. Lebron's name also needs to stop being mentioned for MVP. He has to be the most un-clutch good player in the league. Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 Um, Marion put up 18 points and 11 rebounds in basically 3 quarters last night. If he played the rest of the game, he would have been right on that 30-15 pace he has been on with. I'm sorry but that makes as much sense as taking the MVP away from Billups because Kobe played better against the Pistons. The Suns played 9 players last night with TWO of them being hurt (James Jones and Tstilisvili) enough that they probably wouldn't have played on most nights. Then one of the other guys was a 10-day contract guy. The Spurs shot incredibly well and phoneix couldn't get open for the 3. Thats all. And I am going to start my own little count now. Games in which Lebron James completely took over down the stretch to win the game and everyone ignores. Lets just put the count at 1 from the other night in Toronto when he carried the team in the 4th for a 1 point win.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 I don't think Marion's the MVP (because, once again, I think it's Nash), but yeah, he did fine. The Suns are just dead with injuries right now. What's funny is that, because of how strong Diaw and Barbosa have come on this season, they'll probably still be able to manhandle many teams while waiting for everyone to heal up. I'm going to be really interested to see how they integrate Amare, if he gets back for the end of the season/playoffs. These Suns have been a very good team, but we've yet to get a chance to see what the frontcourt is like with both (Kurt) Thomas and Stoudamire.

Being the guy to carry your team down the stretch and putting the team in a position to win a close game is just as important as the guy who takes the last shot to win. These Suns have been a very good team, but we've yet to get a chance to see what the frontcourt is like with both (Kurt) Thomas and Stoudamire. Kurt Thomas being out for the year is a blessing in disguise. Amare can hit the midrange shot just like Kurt and can run the pick and roll the way the Suns were running it with Kurt so it won't be too much of a change. Boris Diaw and Amare running a 4/5 screen and roll is going to be gourgeous. And while I don't think that Marion is the MVP, I think he is definately top five. Nash, Billups, Tony Parker, Marion and who else you want to add honestly. people are really discounting what Jason Terry, Jerry Stackhouse and Josh Howard have done for Dallas in helping them so I think the Nowinski for MVP push is a little far fetched. He stopped having to be THE guy and became A guy and thats why they are a better team. Tim Duncan has been playing at half speed all year, its really been a team effort, though Parker has been amazing. Lebron James and Kobe...whatever honestly. Their teams aren't good enough. Just John 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 Marion's having a great year, and he's a really good player, but he's not an MVP. If Nash doesn't play all season, that team doesn't make the playoffs.

If Marion is out all year, the Suns wouldn't be where they are. Dude... 22 points, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 13 rebounds.....Nash is partly responsible for the 22 points. I think Shawn should definately be in the running for defensive player of the year also.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2006 Slow down there, Rip... its going to take at least 10 games for him to be anywhere near game shape... and he is going to be rusty as hell... game situations in practice and the actual game situations are radically different. 20 minutes a game and hit a jump shot....thats all we need. I don't need Dunky Dunkerson or 37 point a game Amare. 20 minutes, hit the open jumper. If nothing else, when all else fails he can go stand on the block and force a double, giving Nash a much needed rest.
