Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Bump.. A frenzy of borrowing money hits the crew; Carmela waxes philosophical on a trip with Rosalie; Meadow relocates. Don't miss an all-new episode of The Sopranos, "Cold Stones", Sunday, May 21st at 9 PM ET HBO.com Hard to believe this is the second to last episode of the season... Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Good episode. Silvio getting Phil's goons back and going for the RNC while the dude was getting stabbed was fucking tits. The Adriana thing was a "HOLY SHIT" moment for about half a second until you realized that it was a dream. Looks like the war is on. I'm guessing something fairly big happens in next weeks episode, perhaps they'll rip off The Shield and have Phil whack Johnny Sac while he's in jail so he can get full control. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Phil hides in a closet...foreshadowing? Tony and Carmelo are idiots, when it comes to AJ. The only thing Carmelo's nagging is gonna do is turn him into her murderer. I guarantee Tony's threats aren't going to help in the long term. The AJ situation doesn't need the amount of drama that they give it. They just need to tell him that he has a month to get and keep a job of his choice. If after a month and no job, charge him rent and make him pay for everything he uses other than food. Within two months, he either becomes a criminal or gets a job. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Dammit they have to milk this shit by not having the season finale next week, instead showing the last 3 eps and then the season finale the following week....WTF? They have the entire rest of the year for replaying the season.....fuckers.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 HBO and David Chase have really dropped the ball on finishing up The Sopranos. First, the 2 year hiatus and then this. I love the show and all, but it's shit like this that leaves a sour taste in people's mouths.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2006 I think Phils anger with and insistence on killing vito himself had to do more with the fact that He was unable to do the same to Tony B last season, either that was sad to watch. Tony needs to get rid of Phil soon. man thats a great character that you love to hate huh? Sad to see the end. hyped for the season ender though, as this whole seaosn seemed to be a slow burn towards the final war next season

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 I've really enjoyed this episode so far, I'm just waiting to see what's the big cliffhanger will be. Ah, the usual "family gathering" finale.
Bored 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 The big storyline was ended last episode so I'm not surprised that the "finale" was more of a set up for the final eight episodes. We know that whoever that guy is in Phil's crew (did we even get his name?) definently has a hard on for Tony. Damn and how does A.J. get a piece like that? Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 5, 2006 I wonder who this "guy that's close to [Tony] that's in danger" is. Chris, maybe A.J.? Good to see A.J. is finally becoming a man. I also like how they drew the comparison between how A.J. solves a problem as opposed to his forefathers, when the Puerto Rican kids were outside making noise. His father would've responded in a brutal, violent manner whereas A.J. negotiated for them to leave. I thought that was a cool touch to his character, which is finally after all these seasons, showing some depth.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 I think it was more that AJ is a pussy, and didn't want to get his ass kicked, moreso than showing maturity. I can't be the only one who thought he was about to get beat down. A lot of tension below the surface in this episode. I though something was going to happen to Christopher with the way NY was talking about retaliation, and the amount of screentime Chris was getting. I kept waiting for a NY crewmember to take a shot at him while he was out w/ Julianna.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Thought that was pretty weak for a finale. I mean, I don't think that they needed some giant cliffhanger, and I get where they're going about Tony trying to resolve things peacefully now, but still. This is about the first time I can remember seeing a "setup episode" positioned as a finale.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 I just realized the awesomeness of that last scene with AJ and Tony (Paraphrased) Chris: Nice Necklace Tony: Should've told me, I got a guy. AJ: I got a job. I just loved how it was basically AJ saying "I don't need your favors anymore. I earned the necklace".

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Does anyone know if Meadow's character is leaving the show or being written out of the show? I mean usually when a character "moves across the country" there isn't going to be much interaction, and it seems stupid to pay the actress for an occasional voice over on a telephone. Usually there is big news when a character is leaving the show.
Mole 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Oh come on guys, that was a horrible finale. Finale's are supposed to wrap up the season or atleast come close to it, this did not do that at all. It seemed like it was a regular episode and there would be another one next week. Not to mention the episode was boring as fuck. The only good parts were the AJ shit. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2006 Except it wasn't a season finale. They clearly explained that it was only just the first half. The next few months are just merely an delayed intermission. Essentially the last act of the first half was merely setting up to the explosive second half. The calm before the storm if you will to see the family together possibly for the final time because you know everything is about to erupt. They wrapped the big first half storyline up last week, last night was setting the pieces in place for part ii.
Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 5, 2006 The next few months are just merely an delayed intermission. More like 7 and a half months until the next season. Thats a very long time. After this anticlimatic season with the horrible finale expect alot of people to lose interest in the remaining 8 episodes.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 6, 2006 I doubt that, considering this will be the end of the show's run. Is anyone else as annoyed by Carmela's character as I am? It's not just her voice, aside from the first couple episodes and the Paris episode, she's been practically pointless for quite some time. I kind of wish that Tony and her had gotten divorced sometime ago, that would probably have made the dual family story a bit more interesting. I miss the days of season 4. What the hell happened to this show?

The calm before the storm if you will to see the family together possibly for the final time because you know everything is about to erupt. They arent coming back til "sometime in 2007" - if it was a hiatus for a few months, I'd agree with you that what they did last night wasn't that bad but we're talking AT LEAST 6 months, if not more. Thats actually MORE than a regular season on broadcast television. There should have been a cliffhanger last night and there wasnt. Really no excuse for that kind of slow and plotting type of programming, ESPECIALLY from a show such as this. And especially since this is, well, nearing the end. Calm before the storm should have happened well before this. Instead last night felt the farthest thing from a finale of any sort and more like adding new and dare I say uninteresting layers into the fold, such as Chris fucking the girl Tony wants. Big f'n deal. That should have been saved for the next season at the very worst. There should have been some strong attack at the end of this show, even during Tony's family gathering. But we didnt get anything but happy go lucky family fun. Thats not what this show is about. Not even close. I just honestly dont have much, if any, hope for what Chase has planned for the last 8 episodes. I was frankly pretty dissapointed with what they did this "season" other than the first episode where Junior shot Tony. Otherwise it was slow, roller coaster development (up and down), and generally seemed like a great amount of filler. Characters and storylines were inconsistent, underdeveloped, uninteresting and the Vito storyline bridged more heat between the families, but did anyone really enjoy that shit?! I personally did not. Now I can see where things are leading, essentially one huge blowup between many different people/factions, but its just that they have done it so "eh" I could care less to see where it all goes. Plus add the fact we have to wait a fuckload of time to get there, and we had to wait a fuckload of time to just get what crappy "half-season" we got here, and consider me very let down. Guest NYankees Report post Posted June 6, 2006 Well said RedJed. I would have been happier if they ended the show with Phil having the heart attack and not knowing what happens to him. Sopranos have always had the weakest finales though the past couple of years. I remember Meadow running out into the middle of the street in season 3 and Tony and Carmela on the boat or some bs in season 4 or 5 finale.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2006 yea it was kind of dissapoint part 1 to the last season, but I think it was that the show had the theme this year of "foregiveness, and making things right" tony changed quite a bit. I too thoguht chris was going to get shot i also think this was one big setup for the craziness that will be the series ending eps. and junior still steals the show even in just one appearance. AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2006 The final eight eps are one big season finale. It still remains to be seen whether Tony's talk with Phil has any effect on his feelings on the matter, or if that asswhipe in the doorway will stir some more shit between the crews. Little Carmine is a fucking reatrd too for bringing up Billy's death too. As for who's biting the bullet, I'd have to rule out AJ. Even guys like Phil know whacking an innocent is a big fucking no-no, and could lead to a bloodbath of epic proportions. I rule out Chris only because he's already been shot, Sylvio because he's fucking Sylvio and guys like Benny and Philly Parisi because they've become pretty minimalistic lately. I know Paulie's the popular choice but he's got cancer, so I think that he's ruled out storyline speaking. Carlo, maybe, but I gotta say I favor Bacala getting the axe, only because it's somebody close to Tony, closer family wise than Christopher even, a captain and a good earner, a fairly easy target size wise, and apart from the Paulie episode with his daughter, fairly nonconfrontation, ergo, "easy to whack." As far as I know, Bacala's the only made guy in Tony's crew who hasn't killed someone in all of the seasons. Whatever, I still see this Adrianna deal as being the potential downfall of Tony. Wouldn't surprise me if a body popped up sooner or later, I douby Syl dismembered Adrianna, he probably just buried her. Anyway, hopefully all answers will be revealed in the finales!
